Bravo's POV

"So, Thomas, how long have you and Carson been travelling together for?" , I asked

"Not long, a few days maybe.",Thomas replied

"So, do you like to travel with her?" I asked

"Yeah, she's nice," Thomas replied

"You do realize that I'm awake, right?" Carson commented

"Yeah I do but I want to know about his opinion of you," I confessed

"You both realize that I am right here too, right?"Thomas grumbled

We all stood up at the same time and oddly all went outside.The air was as thick as plywood.I really struggle to understand why Thomas is so interested in Carson.She is only a cave dweller.Nothing too special.I guess he thinks differently.When Carson and I were close we could've started a really good partnership because she had the skill and I had wonderful leadership.But obviously, she thought differently. She wanted the skill and the leading.We had to part ways after the incident in Ziozar, I don't think anyone should even talk about it.It was a dangerous place. But the allegiance cleaned up all of the mutants there and some of the cave dwellers were eliminated.Ruby Chasm does have a dark past because that's where the allegiance was founded.They are brutal and deadly, they possess more of a threat than riflemen. I won't tell Thomas because there isn't a need for making him scared.

"If we are heading out to Ruby Chasm we have to go through Itizami Forest.", I commented

"Ok...let's go.", agreed Thomas

"But, what about those riflemen. More will come!", worried Carson

"Don't worry!" I stated.

We walked slowly through the forest, killing any roaches we found on the way.A couple bit Carson but she shook it off and carried on walking.We came to a large mahogany brown forest and looked around.The foliage rustled and every step we took we heard the sound of crackling branches.The trees of the forest were the guardians of it. Like every tree had its own story.In the distance loping wolves and scattering mice could be heard.On the forest floor, mushrooms grew under the leafy dome of the forest.The forest beckoned me into its sleeping soul.The deep, haunting ballad of its ancient song called out to me.

With a light heart, we plunged into the overarching vault of leaf and limb. It was not what I had expected. The deadliness of the sun's light had not yet touched us so we were fine.
Coils of dangerous mist wrapped the heads of the mahogany trees. Adding its dangerous gas to the dampness of the forest. A gloomy silence overhung the hard ground where the trees grew. A hollow echoing, like the hushed tones of a great entombed the wood.
Then a finger of supernal light poked through the misty mesh. It was followed by a whole loom of light, filtering down in seams of gold. Like the radiated glow of the gods, it chased the shadows, banished the gloom and spilt into spaces where the gas once stalked.
The danger of the forest was revealed in the green-bright light. Almond-brown trees stood surreptitiously, awash with an amber glow. Their bark looked like ruffled rock and gems of amber covered their exterior.
Walking past some flowers, I watched them slowly, getting tingles in my fingers. My ears perked up at the serene, beautiful sound of a stream.

"There is some water up here,"I said

"Isn't this water all radiated?"Thomas asked

"Yeah, you can drink the water but have a couple rad pills before you drink it,"I commented

"Tom, don't drink it!", Carson exclaimed

"Why not?", asked Thomas

"You never took any rad pills!",I said

"Oh yeah, but one little sip can't do me any harm.",began Thomas

"What's the worst that could happen?",he continued

"You could shrivel up from the inside and die or you could drink it then explode.Choose your fate."I cautioned.

"No, I won't." , challenged Thomas

"Here, both of you," Carson said and gave them both water

"How did you-", Thomas and I said

"I cleaned up the water with the pills and now you can drink it.Stop arguing and let's go before people find us.",Carson explained

"Yeah, this is definitely gonna kill me"

Besides from the man eating plants and the weird looking trees, this forest was safe.It was like one of those games where the main character has to walk through a never ending forest.The forest might be scary but it is safe enough for three people or even two.We walked on a bit more until we came out of the forest.There was a beautiful shine of light.It was so recognizable.I knew it, this was it, Ruby Chasm.

"This is it,"I said

"Welcome to Ruby chasm."I continued
