Chapter 23 |
Esme's Point of View
Once we had all read the note, I had felt a little disappointed in the boys -- except Emmett. How could they do that to dear Liz, she had always been sweet. We all went upstairs after reading it and waiting for the people who needed sleep get sleep, we were now hunting the for a Dvd player, to play Liz's video.
Soon Niall found it and got it ready, meanwhile I handed everyone what was their's, what Elizabeth maded. And it was so beautiful, all made unique to fit us, we all stared at our jewlery for a bit before deciding to play the video.
Day that Elizabeth recorded the video
Elizabeth's Point of View
~ Two weeks prior to the note being written ~
I was laying down in the meadow, my eyes closed as I felt my body shake with dry sobs. How hard was it to find someone who could love me for me? Why is it this world had people who didn't appreciate you for you?
I stood up and moved to the cave before running to the house. When I got here I again knocked and it opened to a male. He sent me a smile before letting me in.
I walked past it sniffing and wiping my eyes, "Are you okay, m'lady?"
I shook my head, "You don't need to call me that, at all. And yeah, I am okay. . .though even that I'm beginning not to be?" I mutter and turned to see him frowning but yet he also seemed shocked.
"Follow me please, love." I frowned but did so, looking him over as I did. He had skin that was tan and pale, a great mix in between, black hair, sparkling blue eyes, and a smile, he also stood at a taller height then I.
"What's your name?" He curiously asks as he opened a door for me. . .that was made up of a bookshelf.
I answered as I walked through, "I'm. . . . Elizabeth." I answer, forgetting my name for a second.
I heard him chuckle softly as I stumbled a little, "That's a nice name, love. My name is Zachary, or Zach."
I nodded and he lead me down with a hand on my waist. It came to mind that this guy — Zach as he says, is going to kill me. The moment I saw the door actually.
I just did not care. I should, I know. But how could I, when these past few months . . .weeks, days, the past two years, if even that, have been horrible.
I mean, I've even lost all that is close to me. Soon we arrived at a beautiful room that had shelves of books. Zach motioned I sit in a chair and I did as told. He smiled and then handed me a paper. Or a little book more like.
I frowned and began to read it, "You're the girl." Zach spoke and I knew what he meant despite not finishing the rest.
Simply a page that had said who could own this house. . .and I oddly fit the description. "I wanted to make sure that this was carried out. I should have believed in Beth when she told me about you."
I looked up, "So I have this house. . .that's what you're saying." I spoke and he nodded smiling.
"Yes, Elizabeth. My . . .mistress, she said it would belong to a girl with the name of Elizabelle or Elizabeth, black beautiful hair like the sea, beautiful eyes, and the other things you saw. However half you do not have, she also said that I would know. I know it's you."
He stood up and began to head to a staircase, "Good-bye now, Elizabeth. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I had. As much as my sister had." he sounded sad at the end, "I hope to see you again. You remind me of her."
His smile disappeared and I shook my head, "No! Please, please don't leave. Don't say good-bye."
He looked at me and seemed hesitant, I stood up and ran up to him hugging him. Which was shocking to me, but I felt him relax in my hold and hug me back. "Then think of this as a 'see you later,' not as a good-bye."
He kissed my head and he was gone, I closed my eyes and fell on my knees crying. I then stood up after awhile and went to a piano and saw a camera. I set it all up before looking in the camera.
