Dean
This is the same day as Cas but from Dean's POV
Dean Winchester had his own personal human alarm clock. His little brother Sam.
Sam pounded on his door at seven sharp every weekday morning.
"Dean," rap rap, "get up!"
Dean groaned into his pillow. Right on time.
He rolled out of bed and got ready for school.
Dean had a lot of friends. Mostly because he was the captain of the football team and everyone thought he was cool.
He couldn't complain, his life was pretty great.
But secretly, he missed summers filled with orange popsicles, squeaking swing sets, and blue eyes.
(I love the fact that Misha has amazingly blue eyes. If it weren't for that, we'd probably be writing about mediocre brown eyes and messy hair to match)
He didn't want to stop being friends with Castiel, but his dad had told him to make other friends. People that weren't Cas.
The problem with people that weren't Cas was the fact that they weren't Cas.
And they would never be.
It was his fault that he was such a dick to him though. But all his football friends were, so he considered it "fitting in."
If fitting in meant hurting the only real friend he'd ever had.
Dean did see Cas at the Roadhouse with a red headed girl he had never seen at school before.
Who the hell was she? But he wasn't jealous. Dean Winchester didn't get jealous.
Cas didn't even like girls! That gave Dean a sense of comfort, the fact that they weren't together.
Plus Cas never dated, as far as Dean could tell.
That day, during study hall, Dean and his friends had provoked Cas. His friend Benny daring him to make a joke about his crooked glasses.
Dean always thought that Cas' crooked glasses were cute. Not that he would ever admit it.
After a good tongue lashing (he had forgot about Cas' quick wit) Dean turned to talk to the dumb bitch from bio.
While she rambled about cheerleading practice, Dean heard Cas whisper "I hate you," to him. He'd be lying if he said it didn't sting.
Cas might be a nerd, but he was definitely a forgetful idiot too. Sammy had shown up with Cas' younger brother and sister asking if they could come over because someone forgot to pick them up from school.
Dean had met Gabriel and Anna back when they were in Preschool with Sammy.
Anna's hair was still flaming red and Gabriel still had an odd obsession with candy and his little brother. Weirdo.
Gabriel, as it turns out, was also a chatterbox. Dean would have tuned him out if Gabriel wasn't talking about Cas, or 'Cassie' as he called him.
Cassie huh? Oh that was going to be used in the near future.
Gabriel, or Gabe as he was asked to be called, proceeded to tell stories Dean had been there for and produce baby pictures of Cas. Dean had seen them all before.
He'd almost forgotten how cute baby Cas was.
When Gabe called Cas he said he might know Dean because they were in the same grade, guess he never told them about their 5 year old friendship back in the day. Ouch.
The near future turned out to be five minutes later when a very distressed and ruffled looking Cas showed up on the doorstep.
Sam had beat Dean to the door and he saw a mix of recognition and sorrow flash across Cas' face at the sight of Sam.
Dean felt his heart clench just a little.
While Cas was watching his siblings fight over shotgun, Dean snuck up to the doorframe.
Words were exchanged about the whole 'Cassie' thing.
Dean said some pretty dick move things.
He couldn't help it, it's not like there was a switch!
He ended up slamming the door in Cas' face.
Then, being the little stalker he was, peeking out the peephole.
Cas looked sad, he wiped at a tear and muttered something Dean couldn't hear before turning away.
Dean always hated when he made Cas cry.
