Dean

Dean stared at Cas, silence overcame them.

Dean wanted to say something, words that no one else had spoken before. Something that could change this.

But what where you supposed to say to the person you missed most in the world, when they told you they were really leaving.

Cas turned to go back into his car.

"Cas," he started. Castiel turned back to look at him.

"I... I'm sorry."

"I know," he said, smiling sadly. He got into his car and left.

That wasn't it.

~~~
Dean walked inside and flopped onto the couch.
"Whazzup?" said Sam, sliding into the room.
"Fuck off," Dean groaned into the pillow.
"Wow, who pissed in your cornflakes?"
"I'm gonna piss in your's if you don't leave me alone Samuel William Winchester."
(Im like 90% sure thats what it said for sam's middle name when the brit bitch was going full stalker mode)
"Okay okay," Sam said backing away with his arms held up in surrender.
"Jerk."
"Bitch."
Dean groaned again and rolled off the couch and crawled up the stairs to his room.
Dean dug under his bed for a little metal box.
"Yahtzee," he mittered as he felt the  cool metal under his fingers.
He popped open the lid, there were five years of memories, all crammed into this little six by eight tin box.
There were four old, worn photographs, a small angel wings pendant attached to a string, a carnival ticket stub from 2005, and a pebble.
Dean picked up the first picture, it was of the first time Cas tried a popsicle. His eyebrows were furrowed as he held the red thing under his nose, his tongue peeking out and touching the side of the popsicle.
Dean was standing beside him, watching Cas with a huge grin on his face and his own popsicle in his hand.
Dean smiled softly before tucking it away and putting the box back under his bed.
Dean picked up his phone and dialed Cas' home phone number, he still remembered it.
"Hello?" answered a voice that did definitely not belong to Cas.
"Hi, can I um, can I speak to Cas?"
"Deano? Is that you?"
Dean squinted his eyes before recognizing the voice. Gabe.
"Gabriel, hi. Is Cas around?"
"Just a sec," he heard Gabe cover the receiver with his hand.
"Cassie!"
"Yes?" Dean heard Cas' deep drift over the phone.
"Dean wants to talk to you."
"Uhhh, tell him I'm not home or something."
"Sure thing brother."
"Sorry Deano," Gabe said, removing his hand.
"Cassie can't come to the phone right now, he's waxing, like everything."
"Gabe!"
There was some muffled noises and Dean was pretty sure the phone dropped to the ground before the line went dead.
He let out a chuckle before deciding he would call Cas later.
It gave him more time to think about what he was going to say.
"Sorry I've been an asshole these past years?"
"Don't leave?"
"How 'bout an apology blowjob?"
No. Actually, the last one didn't sound too bad.
Still, he didn't think Cas would bite.
Maybe he could talk to his red headed friend.
Dean fell asleep thinking of ways to get Cas' friend to talk to him, to help him find a way for Cas to stay.
On the other side of town, Cas was wondering what Dean could have possibly been calling about.
