In Dreams
I lay, supine
On the shivering sands.
Careless that the incoming waves
May engulf, and set me free.
Suddenly,
I feel your hands lift me,
Guiding me to the safety
Of the guardian rocks
That line the shore.
More,
I feel your words embrace me,
Though I cannot hear the sound.
You seem to surround me,
I can feel your touch,
Much warmer than the chill
That invades me.
I open my eyes;
You are not there,
I close them once more,
Perchance to dream again.
