Yeri's POV
A knock comes to my door and my stupid heart skips a beat. I want it to be Jay so bad that I'm hugely disappointed when I see Jisoo instead. Why is he even here again?
"Go away," I tell him as I try to close the door in his face.
"We really need to talk," he pleads with me, but I'm already closing the door again.
Before I know it he puts his foot between the door and comes inside. I give up and throw my hands up in the air as I walk back to my bed. Sitting down feels better than standing when I'm this tired. He sits down in a chair opposite me and puts his elbows on his knees as he leans forward.
"Your aunt wants to see you", he tells me as I shake my head.
"She can call me herself to deliver that message", I try as I lean back onto my elbows.
"Yeri, come on. What else do I have to do to win you back?" he asks of and I laugh.
"Nothing, because it is not happening.."
"Is it because of Jay Park? He's a ladies man and doesn't care for you. Not the way I do.." he tries again and this time a humorous laugh escapes my mouth.
"You care about me? You do have a very funny way of showing it! When you left for America you cheated on me, not only here, but back home too! You're a bastard who is good for nothing!" The words spill out of my mouth as he leans back, hurt.
"You know I never intended to hurt you.."
"Oh, why did you do it then? At least Jay has been honest with me. He treats me with respect, not something I can say of you... Oh the irony!"
"But you're not being honest with him at all. Have you told him?"
That's the point where I've had it with him. I stand back up and toss him out of my room. "Never ever come back." Are the last words I say to him before closing the door and chapter.
My heart breaks a little as I sigh and think about it all. How could I ever have loved that person? He's manipulative and doesn't care about anyone but himself. That's not the kind of person I want to date at all. It just took me long enough to see what type of jerk he really was.
My eyelids are even heavier right now and I change my clothing to pj's. It's warm when I climb into bed and drift off to the dream world I love. The world where everything is okay.
End of the week
The day we leave is finally here. We're going back to Korea. Somehow I feel even more lost than before I came here. Jay has been very friendly, but never too close since that one day I went missing. He keeps his distance and it saddens me because I thought I'd found a good friend in him. I guess the kiss didn't mean anything more than temporary lust.
The morning of our leave he comes to pick up my luggage. He carries it as we walk beside each other. It's become very awkward between us and everyone can see it.
"Jay?" I suddenly ask him.
"Yes?"
"Is something up?"
"Nope, why would there be?" he eyes me from the side.
"It's just that you've been so distant. You've never been the one to give someone his space."
"I have a lot on my mind right now, I'm sorry. I'll try not to be as distant, okay?" he tells me and I smile encouragingly.
The ride to the airport is never quiet. Loco is so loud when he talks to Jay, they're really good friends. Simon D is in the back with me and I barely speak. He intimidates me in a way Jay never does. He is the co-founder of AOMG after all. He even gives off a boss vibe, Jay never does. But I've never seen him work with his clients either, so I have no idea how he is.
Then it hits me. I want to see that side of Jay. I want to be there when he changes, to see every side of him. My heart beats faster when I look at him. At some point he catches me looking and winks at me again. This is the old Jay again, from before that day. I smile and throw him a kiss. He pulls up his eyebrows and smiles.
His smile always gets to me. It's really a smile to brighten the most dreary day. He is some kind of sun that lights up my every mood. And now he's striking again. I hope to be next to him on the plane. This way he can see the work I actually did on this trip. He can even help me with what he wants for the display of pictures.
We board the plane as Jay is with me the entire time again. He's back to his old habit of not letting me out of his sight. I smile as he does this again. Everything starts to feel normal again. He sits down beside me as we take off. I'm on my laptop again to edit his pictures. I can feel his gaze on me all of the time as he gives me directions on how to make him look good.
"Dude, you can't make yourself look better in these pictures. That's how you look, I can't change that," I joke as his eyebrows lift.
"You're mean. And lying. You like the way I look," he grins as he leans away a little.
I sigh as I turn back to the screen. It takes me the whole flight to finish the picture and I still have a lot of work when I get home. When we land Jay helps me with my luggage again, which doesn't seem to be welcomed by his fans again. They shoot me angry looks as we walk out of the airport.
I want to take a cab ride home, but Jay won't let me. I don't know what his deal his today. Something in me loves how he looks out for me, but the other side of me doesn't want to be taken care of. I have a lot on my plate already without having him hovering over me.
He drops me off at my door and waits for me to go inside, looking until my door closes shut. When I'm finally alone I sigh and lean back against the door. It's hard to pretend to be fine all the time, especially in front of someone you want to tell everything to. Jay's honest eyes make me waver all the time, but it's not the right time just yet. We need to get to know each other first.
Unpacking goes unusually slow. Everything I put away is with a heavy heart. My trip is over, work begins again and life goes on. It was like life stopped while we were there, waiting for me to catch up again, to face reality.
Late at night I crawl into my bed. I look at my phone again, I have one new message. When I look at it I see it's Jay. He's asking me how I'm doing, if I'm fine. I smile at how concerned it is. I text him back I'm fine, he doesn't need to worry this much.
Jay's POV
I stare at my phone, waiting for a message back. For some unknown reason I don't want to leave her out of my sight, but I can't go over there now without looking creepy. She was already a little annoyed I took her to her house. But I just can't help myself when it comes to her.
A message comes back, telling me not to worry too much about her so much and that she's fine. I smile a little at my screen, feeling like a fool for doing so.
"Want me to come and comfort you?" I text before thinking, regretting my decision immediately. A sigh escapes my mouth as I lock my phone and stand in front of my wall length window. I stare outside, out on to the night light of Seoul. It's breath taking, but makes me feel lonely. I've always wanted someone to share this view with, but it's even stronger now. Now that Yeri is on my mind. Her kiss still lingers on my lips when I think about it.
My hand reaches up to touch my lips and I drop them halfway through, thinking it's stupid to act this way. Then my phone rings again. I look at her text, saying it's fine if I want to. I've never gotten dressed more quickly and left. My car is in the garage downstairs and I step inside, starting the engine and racing over to her house. But when I'm in front I think maybe I got here too fast. What will she think of me? That I'm desperate? Shaking my head I stay inside my car, looking at her door. I decide to go after 10 minutes but they don't go by fast enough. Fuck it.
Yeri's POV
The bell rings and I go to open the door. Jay looks flawless as always. His smile is teeth wide and makes me smile too. "Come in," I tell him as I step aside.
It's his first time coming to my place and he looks around.
"I'm sure it's nothing like your place, but it's home," I shrug my shoulders and sit down on the couch.
"No, it's very homely. My place is cold and empty to be honest," he tells me as he sits down right beside me.
He's close, too close for me. Thinking always becomes really hard when he's in my private space. Why did I even let him come here? What was I thinking? Did I want him to be this close? I honestly don't know.
"It's small," I mutter in a little form of protest.
He just shakes his head at me. "It's you," he tells me as he takes my hand in his. I furrow my brow as I look down at our joined hands. My heart is beating overtime again, I feel like he hears every beat of it. I'm trying very hard not to turn red like a tomato.
"Thank you." It's like a whisper, like I don't want to disturb the mood in the room.
He lifts a hand to touch my face, I lean in, instinctively. His hand is warm when he touches my face. A sigh escapes my mouth as I look into his eyes. Fire is blazing in them, telling me exactly what he's thinking and what he wants. I hope I send him the right message, that my fire spit the same fire as his do. I can't turn away from him, my body is caught in its place. Then he leans in his face, inches from me he stops. His hot breath in on my lips as he waits for me to close the gap between us. My heart is fluttering out of my chest as I close my eyes and close the gap between our lips.
The moment they touch it feels like breaking free, like all the world's problems vanish and it's just me and him. My shoulders and head feel light as he pulls me closer, pressing my body to his. I feel his heart beating as fierce as mine. We move in sync as he deepens the kiss, his tongue sliding into my mouth. I feel hot all over. Out lips are greedy as his hand is on my lower back. My hands move up to his chest, where I lay them to rest as we kiss. I can feel his muscles flex as we go on, without breathing. I don't feel like I need to breathe, like he is the oxygen I need. But I do actually need to breathe and break the kiss to gasp for air. That's when I start coughing and my world goes black.
