Quest time
They were back in the pavilion and Chiron was standing at the podium talking.
"The next capture the flag will be tonight at seven so polish your armor and meet back here beforehand to choose teams." Chiron was saying.
Annabeth and Percy had convinced Crystal to stay after she had stepped out for only three minutes and had been attacked by five hellhounds at once. But the weird thing was, they weren't trying to kill her right away.
*flashback*
"Put me down you mutt!" Crystal screamed as she tried to stab the hound that had her by the back of her hoodie. The dagger just passed right through with out harming it and the beast just kept running with her struggling to get free. The four others in the pack were following right behind with Percy trying to catch up as Annabeth went to get reinforcements.
There was a yelp as the first one fell then another and the pack turned around. The lead one holding Crystal set her down and she scrambled to get away. She ran to a tree and climbed up and looked down to see Percy demolishing them. In only a matter of minutes the beasts had been reduced to ash and that was being blown away by the wind. She carefully climbed back down and stood to face Percy.
"How did you do that? None of my attacks worked" She asked then noticed his sword. It was a golden color and was glowing around the edges.
"Your weapon isn't celestial gold" Was his only answer. She looked at him confused and he explained more.
"Celestial gold and imperial gold are the only things that can hurt the monsters. Not regular gold, silver or any other material. I guess we have to get you your own since you don't have one apparently" Percy said. Annabeth came back just then with a small army behind her. She took one look around and glared at Percy.
"Cant you ever let any of us have some fun?" She asked smiling now. Percy walked over and put his arm around her.
"Then I wouldn't have any fun" He said pouting then in a more serious tone "We have a problem though, she doesn't have a weapon that will work" He said and looked back at Crystal but saw she was gone. He looked around in confusion and saw her back in the tree.
"What are you doing?" He asked looking up. She looked down at him before jumping off the branch she was on. She landed in a crouch and stood up to face him.
"Just checking to see if any more were coming" She said. "I didn't see any besides a half goat looking thing coming from that " She pointed back at camp "direction"
"that would be Grover probably" Percy said and headed back to camp, still holding Annabeth. Crystal followed grudgingly and walked back into camp getting a lot of stares as she passed. She was getting fed up with it and, as some Aphrodite kids were staring at her she snapped her head and glared at them. They jumped back in surprise and Crystal kept walking with a smug grin on her face. They finally stopped back in front of the big house and Chiron came walking out.
"Your back already are you? Well, I guess we'll have t-" He stopped short and stared at Crystal in astonishment and surprise causing the others to turn and look at her. A gasp went up from the group.
"What? What are you staring at?" Crystal asked annoyed. Everyone was looking at her face and it hit her.
"Crap" She whispered and looked away blinking furiously. She turned back to the group moments later once she was sure it was gone. They still were looking at her with mixed emotions.
"What was that?" Annabeth asked stepping forward. She seemed to be only curious about it.
"My eyes sometimes do that when I feel threatened or just angry" Crystal mumbled "It just happened to be both right now" Annabeth nodded and stared into Crystals eyes.
"What makes them do that?" Annabeth asked still looking.
"I get it from my dad" Crystal said standing still and watching as Annabeth circled her.
"Chiron, are there any gods with glowing eyes?" Annabeth asked
"Not on our world" Chiron answered. Annabeth stopped and looked at him in confusion.
"What do you mean our world? Is there more than one world?" Annabeth asked. Everyone was looking confused. Chiron walked back into the big house.
"Crystal, follow me please" He said through the door. Crystal obediently walked in with Annabeth and Percy close behind. He lead them into a celestial gold plated room with a computer in front. He stood next to it and motioned for her to sit down in the swivel chair. She did and he typed something in on the key board. It took a couple seconds but eventually a familiar sight came up. Crystal grinned when she saw it.
"Do you know how to get me back? " She asked looking up at Chiron. He was frowning at her and her smile dropped. Annabeth and Percy looked over her shoulder in confusion.
"That's where you live? That's just a video game though" Percy said pointing at the screen. A Minecraft house was shown on it with three characters standing in front of it. One looked like he was bald and the other two looked like each other except one had glowing white eyes while the other had a purple blue color to his. "And who are those guys?"
Crystals smile faded a bit as she answered.
"Those are my uncles and father" She said barely audible. She pointed at the screen and read off there names "My uncle Steve. Notch and my dad." He voice growing fainter as she spoke. Percy looked at Chiron and saw he was watching her with a look of pity.
"The portal is always moving and I am not sure where it is at the moment" Chiron said after a while. crystal looked up at him with tears in her eyes.
"So I'm stuck here then?" She asked. Chiron shook his head
"Not necessarily, we could always ask the gods for help. though, I'm not sure how likely they are to help us" Chiron said. Crystal instantly perked up.
"Then there's a chance I can get back? I'll take it!" Crystal said jumping up. She ran out of the room leaving Percy, Annabeth and Chiron alone in there.
"Who's her father?" Percy said looking at the picture. Chiron looked grimly at it over Percy's shoulder.
"Herobrine" Chiron said in a deep serious tone "The demon of there world"
"So we have the spawn of a demon running loose in camp?" Annabeth asked looking in astonishment at Chiron.
"technically he is one of the gods in there world but he is often referred to as the devil. for a good reason too, he is a mass murderer and not one to cross if you value your life" Chiron said "I have never met him and plan to keep it that way so we will have to find a way to get her back as soon as possible"
"How will we do that if we cant even find the portal?" Percy asked
"We'll launch a quest to find it immediately. We cannot have him come here" Chiron said "He is bound to be looking for her and if he thinks some one took her and finds her here in camp he will demolish it"
Annabeth nodded "We should leave right away then. Who's going though?" she asked
"You and Percy are the obvious choices, and she will need to go also. You may pick some more if you wish" Chiron said "But she has to be part of it no matter what" Percy and Annabeth nodded and walked out of the room together. They had just gotten out the door when Leo came running up winded.
"Hey guys" He said grinning once he regained his breath.
"What's up Leo? Why were you running?" Annabeth asked
"Oh, just came to tell you the weird girl from before, Crystal, is in bunker nine. She just showed up asking for an imperial gold sword. I was sent here to tell you she's looking for you now" Leo said "Thought maybe there was a fight or something and just wanted to warn you" With that he ran off again.
"We'd better find her" Percy said and started jogging to the bunker.
*End of flashback*
They were now all sitting in the pavilion as Chiron read off the activities and announcements. Crystal at the Hermes table for now because they didn't know where else to put her.
"And to end tonight's announcements, I have a special announcement. There will be a quest leaving tomorrow morning, anyone interested should report to the big house and ask the quest leaders, Percy and Annabeth." Chiron said. Crystal's eyes went wide and she stared at him in astonishment.
"What's the quest for?" someone in the crowd asked. Chiron smiled and looked at all the staring faces.
"That is confidential and for only those who go on it" he said and a groan went up from the crowd
"How many can go?" Another person asked
"That's up to the leaders of the quest" Chiron answered and immediately everyone started talking at once. Chiron tapped his hoof on the stage until it quieted down.
"Don't worry, I will be telling what its for but only after they are gone" He said.
"What about the new girl?" Someone shouted from the crowd. Chiron stopped and looked for the person. He couldn't spot who it was but a mumble of agreement went through the crowd. Crystal tensed in her seat but tried to calm herself down. She didn't want another glowing eyes incident like before.
"She is here, what did you want to know?" Chiron asked looking through the crowd again.
"Who's her godly parent?" a different voice asked. another mumble went through the crowd and the Hermes table turned to look at Crystal. She pulled her hood up to try and hide her face, it worked but only a little as she could see her eyes starting to glow. Quickly she closed her eyes and just listened.
"That has not been determined yet" Chiron answered.
"What about her freak ability" Some one at the Aphrodite table spoke up. Crystal's eyes snapped open and a gasp went up from the Hermes table. Crystal got up and ran out of the pavilion with shouts coming from behind her.
"Crystal! Wait!" Some one was shouting behind her but she ran as fast as she could to the only safe place she could think of, the forest. She ran with tears streaming down her face until she came to a clearing. She slowed until she was in the middle and sank to her knees and sobbed.
They'll never accept me she thought as she sobbed into her hands. She felt a presents near her and looked up to see a creature at the edge of the clearing looking at her. She jumped and fell on her back as it started walking towards her. She could now see it had the head of a woman but the body of a lion and wings of an eagle. Crystal started to back up slowly as it stalked towards her and pulled out her new sword and held it in front of her. The thing paused but came closer anyways.
"Stay back" Crystal said and started to stand up, still backing away.
"You have nothing to fear, daughter of Herobrine" The beast said and Crystal nearly dropped her sword.
"H-how did you-?" Crystal started to ask but didn't finish. She had bumped into something from behind and turned to see a massive thing that looked like a human, except for this thing had only one eye and was wearing only a loincloth. She looked around and saw more monsters start coming into the clearing, pushing her back to the middle. Her heart was beating faster than was probably healthy as they started coming closer.
"We can sense your aura" The same beast said. It had a gentle, feminine voice that Crystal thought sounded motherly. The monsters kept pushing her into the center but none attacked.
"Leave me alone! Crystal shouted once she ran out of room to back up. The monsters immediately stopped but didn't move away. Crystal could tell her eyes were still glowing and realized that's why they were there.
"There is nothing to fear. We wish not to hurt you, only help" The same one said. It stepped forward towards Crystal and she readied her sword.
"Don't come any closer" Crystal said steadying her sword. It came out as a growl and the beast stopped and stared at her. A look of irritation crossed its face but was gone so fast Crystal was left wondering if it had actually been there at all. The beast was about to say something else but a cry went through the monsters at the edge. They scattered and Crystal could see a huge group in armor working there way towards her through the monsters, which were either fighting back or fleeing. The beast talking to Crystal hissed and turned again to her.
"This is not over daughter of Herobrine, we shall meet again" And it took off with archers trying there best to shoot it down. None succeeded.
"Crystal!" A voice called from the edge. She turned and saw most of the monsters were gone or lying dead on the ground, slowly dissolving into dust. someone ran forward towards her and she saw it was the small one from before, at the forge, Leo.
"Are you ok?" He asked then looked at her in confusion. There wasn't a scratch on her anywhere. She looked down so he wouldn't see her eyes, which were still glowing.
"Yea, I'm fine" She said. she could here others coming closer.
"What are you looking at?" Leo asked and bent down to look at her face.
"HOLY HEPHESTUS!" He shrieked and jumped back in surprise. Everyone was crowding closer now to try and see what was wrong. Crystal's heart was beating faster than it had with the monsters.
"What? What's wrong?" Another voice asked as it worked its way forward.
"Frank, can you see what I see?" Leo asked as the other boy walked forward. He bent down to look at Crystal's face but she closed her eyes.
"What? That she has her eyes closed?" Frank asked.
"They weren't before" Leo responded.
"I'm not opening my eyes until everyone leaves" Crystal said.
"Your welcome too sweetheart" A voice said mockingly. Crystal recognized it as the girl from before, Clarisse, who got on her nerves.
"I mean, why don't you want us to see your eyes? self-conscious much? We just saved your sorry little-" She stopped. Crystal lifted her head and turned in the direction of the annoying voice.
"You really want to see don't you?" Crystal said
"If you're hiding it so much, yes. Yes I do" Clarisse said smugly. Crystal opened her eyes and she stepped back so quickly she fell on her butt. Usually everyone would laugh at something like that but they were too busy staring in fear as Crystal swept her gaze across them.
"Now are you happy? You saw what I didn't want to see" Crystal said and started walking towards the far edge of the forest.
"Now I see what you see" Frank said as Crystal looked towards him. He flinched as she looked straight at him. A voice from the back spoke up when crystal looked away.
"I was going to ask why those monsters weren't attacking you but I guess my question has been answered. You're one of them" The voice said. There was a hint of charm speak in it and soon everyone was looking hostile towards Crystal. Crystal backed up frightened as they started to advance on her.
"No she isn't!" Another voice said, also using charm speak. The advance stopped but Crystal was still backing up, eyes slowly turning back to normal.
"Don't listen to her! She's charm speaking you!" the first one said still using charm speak. The advance started again.
"Like you aren't Drew!" The other one said.
"Shut it beauty queen! Your scaring her away!" Leo shouted at them. He was right, Crystal was still backing up not knowing what else to do. Leo turned to Crystal and slowly set his sword down.
"We aren't going to hurt you" He said and started walking towards her.
"I'm not an animal" She growled "And I don't appreciate being talked to as one either" Leo stopped and stared at her.
"Ok, well. Will you at least give us a chance and explain what just happened?" He asked. Crystal stopped and looked at him.
"Like what? My eyes? I get that from my dad" She said "And the monsters I cant explain, where I come from the monsters there obey him but I didn't know something like that would work here"
Leo held up his hands stopping her.
"What do you mean where you come from? You talk like your not from here" He said smiling in confusion. Crystal smiled.
"Your right, I'm not" She said. To emphasize this she disappeared. Leo and the others looked around in confusion.
"I come from somewhere else. A place you all think is just a 'video game' but its more than that. Its my home" She said, her voice coming from a tree above them. Leo looked up but couldn't see anything.
"How'd you get here then? And where is it you come from?" Frank asked, standing next to Leo.
"I followed my uncle through a portal, from Minecraft" She said her voice now coming from behind them.
"How are you doing that!?" Someone asked from the crowd. They sounded more exited than scared though.
"A trick I learned from my dad, comes in hands sometimes" She said from one of the sides. the looked and there she was, leaning on a tree, hand on her dagger.
"So your from Minecraft? The game about a blocky world where you have to survive?" Jason asked.
"Dude, I didn't know you played video games" Leo said looking at him. Jason reddened.
"In my spare time" Jason said
"I guess that's how you people know it but, yes, that is my home" Crystal said and walked forward. There was a laugh from the back.
"How crazy can this girl be? She ran out of the pavilion into the forest, She can control monsters, She has glowing eyes and now she says she's from a video game. I mean how desperate can she be for attention?" Drew said. Crystals eyes started glowing again and she disappeared.
"Look what you did now Drew! She left again!" Piper said from near by.
"So what? Better she left. I personally don't want a freak like her running around the camp" Drew said as she turned around... and screamed.
"Oh would you? Sorry to burst your bubble then" Crystal said. She had teleported behind her and her eyes were in full on glow mode. "You know, I hate snobs" She disappeared again and Drew started looking around like there were voices all around her. Soon she had started running back to camp screaming.
Everyone was watching in shock as Drew ran away. Once she was far enough away they could here a slight laugh coming back from the clearing. Leo turned and saw Crystal standing in the center, hands in her pockets laughing as she watched Drew run. Her eyes were back to normal and she looked happy at what she just did.
"I love doing that" She said making everyone else look back at her.
"She is a monster!" Someone in the back yelled.
"No she isn't! You have to admit that was hilarious!" Someone else shouted. A murmur of agreement went through the crowd.
"How do you keep doing things like that?" the same person as before asked. Crystal smiled a bit and blushed.
"I was born with these powers. Some came from my mom but the majority came from my dad" Crystal said. Most people were starting to walk back to camp and Crystal followed.
"Where are we?" Steve asked when he fell out of the portal. Looking around he saw huge buildings with all Greek designs.
"We are on Mt. Olympus" Notch said looking back at Steve. Steve looked around again.
"Where's Herobrine?" Steve asked just as something pushed him from below.
"Get off me!" Herobrine said pushing Steve off and standing up. He dusted himself off and looked at Notch.
"Why did you bring us here?" He asked looking around. He went wide eyed and gaped at everything. Notch snapped his fingers in front of his eyes until Herobrine came back from his daze.
"We are here to ask for help remember?" Notch said and walked towards two huge doors and pushed them open. There were twelve seats in the room they entered, each several times bigger than them. each had a person sitting on them except for two.
"Lord Notch, what are you doing here? And who are the two with you?" The one at the head asked.
"Hello lord Zeus, These are my two brothers Steve and Herobrine and we have come here to ask for your help" Notch said bowing. Steve followed but Herobrine just kept standing and looking around. Notch noticed and motioned for Herobrine to bow too. Herobrine sighed and bowed down too but immediately got back up.
"What do you need help with?" Zeus asked a little annoyed. Notch started to answer but Herobrine spoke first.
"My daughter stumbled into this world and we need you to help" Herobrine said. Notch looked at him in horror as Zeus stood up from his throne and walked towards him.
"I do not take orders from anyone" Zeus growled. He shrank down until he was the same height as Herobrine and walked right up to him.
"Do you know what I do to annoying mortals?" Zeus asked. Notch tried to step between them but Zeus pushed him back. Herobrine was smiling the same way he usually did before a fight and Steve backed up as Notch walked next to him. All they could do was watch.
"No, I don't but I don't really care either" Herobrine replied. Zeus got angrier.
"Um, Herobrine? That probably isn't the best choice since we want them to help us!" Notch called. Herobrine ignored it. Notch sighed "I tried" he shrugged looking at Steve.
"Who do you think will win?" Steve asked
"I'm putting my bet on Zeus, then again Hero is really good to" Notch replied.
Zeus pulled out his master bolt and it turned into an electric sword. Herobrine's smile grew bigger as he pulled out his diamond obsidian sword and took a defensive pose.
"I am Zeus, king of the gods. No one talks to me like that!" Zeus said charging Herobrine. He dodged and stuck his sword into Zeus' side. Golden ichor started flowing from the wound making Zeus ten times madder. Herobrine was still smiling and was back in a defensive pose.
"I am Herobrine the bane of all of Minecraft, hunter of Steve and feared among all. I talk to any one any way I want" Herobrine taunted. Zeus charged again and was able to cut Herobrine by expecting the dodge. Electricity flew through Herobrine but he didn't seem to notice, just smiled bigger.
"Did I forget to mention those two have already killed me? And that I cant die?" Herobrine asked mockingly. A gasp went through the throne room. Notch put his head in his hands.
"Hero, we've been over this! We did not kill you, a skeleton did. We came back for you but YOU had disappeared from the spot we left you in" Notch said still holding his head.
"No, you left me there dying" Herobrine said dodging another attack. they were both bloody by now. Zeus with golden ichor and Herobrine covered in blood. Well, more than usual anyway.
"Will you stop talking and start fighting?!" Zeus raged. Herobrine snapped back to the battle and it was over in less than a minute later. Zeus pinned to the floor. Herobrine let him back up after looking at Notch and sheathed his sword.
"Good fight" Herobrine said "Much better than the ones Steve and I have. He's horrible" Steve looked at him astonished.
"Well, if you would actually fight fare for once then it would be much better!" Steve said looking at Herobrine.
"I know but its more fun to scare you" Herobrine said looking over at Steve. He didn't notice Zeus get up and turn towards him, sword still unsheathed. He stabbed Herobrine through the back and Herobrine fell forward onto the ground. Zeus pulled the sword out and cleaned the blood off it.
"What did you need again?" Zeus asked as he walked back over to his throne. He stopped half way there when he heard a laugh coming from behind him. All the others watched with horror written on there faces as Herobrine started getting back up and turned to look at Zeus.
"Good one. I use that all the time with Steve. Although, usually he thinks he's killed me for a while at least but hey, its nice to switch it up a bit" Herobrine shrugged. He was still grinning as Zeus stared at him in horror.
"I killed you!" Zeus said looking at Herobrine. His grin grew bigger.
"Don't you remember? I said I couldn't die. I've done it once already and am not doing it again" Herobrine said still grinning. "Now, about your help."
Zeus broke into a grin. "Sure, what was it you needed again?"
"We are looking for my daughter and need help finding her. She followed Notch through a portal from our world to yours and disappeared right when she stepped out" Herobrine explained. The others in the room were looking on with interest as Herobrine told the story.
"So will you help us?" He finished
"We cannot help directly" Zeus said after a silence "but we can have our children help you"
"Great, where are they?" Herobrine asked looking around.
"At camp half-blood. There will be a portal right outside for you to use to get there" Zeus said and dismissed them. The tree walked out in silence until the doors shut then Notch grabbed Herobrine and threw him into the wall next to them. Herobrine slid down to the floor and looked up at Notch with anger in his eyes.
"What was that for?" Herobrine asked getting back up.
"That was for angering Zeus. He has the power to decide if Crystal lives or dies down there! He could have sent something horrible to hunt her down and kill her right the and there!" Notch said
"Wait, if he could have sent something down to find her why didn't he just do that now? It would have been much easier for all of us" Herobrine said. Notch shook his head and looked back up at Herobrine.
"They like entertainment and this is perfect for them. Three deities from another world prancing around theirs looking for something and trying to find it as quickly as possible" Notch said.
"What do you mean as quickly as possible? She's fine right?" Herobrine asked. Notch didn't look at him.
"There are things down there that hunt children of the gods, and to those things she counts. We have to find her quickly because those things could be on her right now" Notch said.
They found the portal seconds later. Notch went through first followed by Steve and Herobrine diving through right after Steve. Herobrine had planned it so that when he came through he tackled Steve but it wasn't Steve he tackled. Instead it was a girl with long blond hair and looked about 18. She screamed when she was tackled and even more when she saw Herobrine's eyes. Herobrine quickly got off her and she ran towards a small version of the place they just came from.
"I'm going to guess this is the camp" Herobrine said looking around.
"What made you think that? Was it the girl you tackled or all the ones still around?" Steve asked. Herobrine shot him a glare and he stopped.
"Now, now. No fighting you two. We want to make a good impression on these kids" Notch said and he started for the buildings with Herobrine and Steve following right behind. They were met by stares and gasps as they made there way towards the only modern style place which was a big blue house on the edge of the lake. Notch walked up to the door and knocked before stepping down. It didn't take long before a man with the body of a horse opened the door. He took one look at the three and his face fell.
"Come in. We have much to discuss" The man said and lead them inside. He sat down in a wheel chair and his body seemed to disappear. Steve watched in amazement.
"Now, I know why your here" The man said. he was about to say more but Herobrine cut him off.
"Hold on. Who are you? And how do you know why we're here?" He asked looking at him. The man sighed and looked uncomfortable but answered the question.
"My name is Chiron, I am head of this camp. You three are Herobrine, Steve and Notch from Minecraft and your looking for your daughter Crystal right?" Chiron asked. The three looked at him in astonishment.
"How did you know?" Steve asked
"First, one of the campers came in screaming about glowing eyes. She has had experience with them before and it wasn't a good one. Second, your daughter just left to try and find you" Chiron said.
The tree stared at him.
