Dream Telling

Jewel's POV

I woke up and wiggled in my sleeping bag. It was really uncomfortable on the floor with my mom, dad, and siblings. My dad was already awake, sitting up and looking at the wall, deep in thought. So was my mom. The two of them were talking softly. I couldn't help it. I listened.

"It was just a bad dream, I'm sure of it." Elsa assured him.

"He had two children with them though. A boy and a girl. I couldn't see the boy until he introduced me. I'm telling you, it was real." Jack protested.

"You must have been very worried, to have dreamed of people who do not exist. It is only because today is the anniversary of..."

"You can say it."

"The... the anniversary of the last day we ever saw Pitch." I thought back. I had never heard the name Pitch before. Who was he, a long lost relative? Why had mom and dad never told me about him before?

"But we haven't heard from him for 21 years. Nearing 22 now." Elsa continued. This Pitch guy had been gone since before I was born. Before even Jack and Elsa were married, or Aunt and Uncle Bjorgman, aka Anna and Kristoff.

"There is one way to check and see if it was a dream or not. The Pitch in my dream said to ask Jack Jr if he had had a similar dream. Jack Jr doesn't know about Pitch. None of the kids do. But if he had the same dream..." Jack said, trailing off.

"Then that was the real Pitch." Elsa finished. At that moment, Snowflake stirred and muttered something about 'Daddy's Uncle-friend'. She was always saying weird stuff.

"You stay here with the kids. I'll go let in Anna and her family." Eavesdropping session was over. Elsa stood and left the room, and the rest of the family woke up over the next few minutes. When mom returned, she had five people with her. Aunt Anna, dressed in a nice green dress, was the first to enter behind Elsa. Then came two little boys, twins with strawberry blond hair and green eyes. Then came Uncle Kristoff, carrying a little girl with him. She had blond hair and blue eyes, and was the same age as Snowflake.

"How are my favorite nieces and nephews!" Aunt Anna said loudly.

"We're your only nieces and nephews." Jenny grumbled. She was grouchy when she was tired.

"That still makes you my favorite." Aunt Anna said.

"We're all here now. Is everyone ready for Family Day?" Mom asked.

"Yeah! Can we play Snoe Defence?" The little blond girl begged.

"It's Snow Defense Grace." Aunt Anna said.

"Please?" Grace and Snowflake begged in unison.

"After we tell each other our dreams." Dad said.

"We haven't done that in a long time." Edward noted.

"But we're going to do it today." Dad said.

"Me first! Me first!" Grace begged.

"Go ahead."

"I had a dream that the whole castle was made out of chocolate!" She said. She had the same love of chocolate that Anna and Elsa had.

"Interesting. What about you Snowflake?"

"I had a dream that I was playing with a bunch of snow bunnies, and then daddy's best friend came to see me!" Snowflake said.

"Really? How fun. And you Jack Jr?"

"I had a dream that I was flying so high, I touched the clouds. Then a guy in black was talking to me and flying with me. He said I was an awesome flyer, just like my dad! And then he told me that he was going to come see me soon." Jack Jr said.

"Do you remember anything else about him?" Dad asked, leaning forward.

"He had spiky black hair and amber eyes. And gray skin."

"Did he say when he was going to see you?"

"No, only that I needed to believe in him."

"Did he tell you a name?"

"I think so. It was Pooch or Potch or something like that."

"Pitch." Mom whispered.

"Yeah, that's it! Pitch Black!" Jack Jr exclaimed.

"Uncle Pitch!" Snowflake squealed.

"Uncle Pitch?" Jack asked.

"Yeah! Daddy's best friend! He's not really your brother though." Snowflake said.

"He came to you too?"

"Yeah! He said we were going to do a surprise for you. But don't tell anyone!"

"No. No one is going to do a surprise, or see anyone named Pitch, Shadow, or Haze."

"Why? Who are they?" I asked.

"No one you need to know darling." Mom said.

"But-"

"Who's ready to play Snow Defense?" Kristoff burst out. All of the little kids cheered, besides me and Edward.

"You kids can go to the Snow Room. We'll join you soon." Dad said. I sighed and stood, then me and Edward began herding the kids to the Snow Room.

"Not you Edward. I need you here with me." Dad said. Edward stayed, and I continued to herd the kids to the Snow Room. Questions were swirling around my head. Who was Pitch Black? Who was Haze? Why did dad hate Shadow? Was it the same Shadow that I had met?
