Chapter 7
Rose got you and the Elric Brothers a room in the church to stay in. Ed and Al were standing by the window gazing down at Rose and you.
You stood with Rose and stared at the grave she was gazing at with a sad look.
"My boyfriend...this is his grave." Rose spoke as you looked at her.
"I'm sorry...about your loss." You said.
"It's alright. I won't be coming here anymore." Rose replied . "He'll be back." She added, catching your attention. "Father Cornello is going to bring him back to life." Rose gave you a teary smile. "But it must be nice to travel with people like Ed and Al. They're quite a bunch." She giggled.
"I guess...I only met them a while ago when Edward became a state alchemist." You replied.
"So are you his bodyguard or something?" Rose asked.
"I guess you could say that. I was assigned to watch over him and his younger brother so they don't cause any trouble." You replied.
Rose giggled at you.
"Did I say something funny?" You asked.
"No, it's just that you look like you enjoy their company." Rose pointed out, catching you off guard.
Then you felt an ominous presence behind you and pulled out your guns and pointed them at two stranger's heads.
"(Name) what are you doing? This Father Cornello and Cray!" Rose gasped as you slowly pulled back your arms. "Forgive her Father! She doesn't mean any harm." Rose bowed to the bald priest.
"It's quite alright." Cornello gave you and Rose a generous grin.
"Oh Father this is--" Rose began to introduce you.
"The famous Siren Alchemist. It is an honor to meet you." Cornello bowed his head to you.

{With the Elric brothers}
"Cornello's leading Rose on and letting her think he can do it." Ed added with a smirk.
"Maybe he can." Al said, catching Ed's attention. "What is Cornello really is a holy man? The scriptures, maybe there is something else out there. Something we can't explain." Al added, gazing out at the horizon.
"Don't count on it." Ed commented.
Ed kept his gaze on you as you socialized with Cornello and Rose. Cray glared at you then at Ed.
"Ed... about (Name)--" Al begin twiddling his thumbs.
"She's not her. Not even close." Ed interrupted as he stared at you.

You came back to your room to see Ed sound asleep on top of his bed and Al sitting against the wall asleep. You approached Ed's bed gently and quietly tucked him in under the covers. His long blonde bangs covering his eyes as you almost touched him when you caught your self, balled your hand into a fist.
{flashback}
"Yui..."
{End of flashback}
You remember Ed calling you that. Why did he call you that? That wasn't your name.
"Yu...i..." you repeated in a whisper.
"(Name)?" Al's voice echoed in his armor.
"Alphonse...did I wake you?" You turned to Al as he looked back at you.
"No I was already awake. I don't really sleep." Al replied.
"Is it because you don't have a body?" You spoke, Al stays quiet. "You don't eat either." You added.
"Yeah. But my brother is going to get my body back as well his arm and leg." Al replied, his voice sounding cheerful.
"Is that why you're looking for the Philosopher's Stone?" You said, Al reacted with surprise then look down at his hands.
"Yes... We did something bad in the past, we tried to bring our mother back to life..." Al began to explain.
"I'm sorry..." you said, Al looked back at you. "...about your mother. You must have really loved her." You added.
"Yes we loved her very much also..." Al began slowly looking up at you, then quickly back down to his hands. "Sorry if I made the conversation emotional. I guess I trust you with this." Al chuckled.
"Why?" You asked squatting down in front of Al. "Why do you trust me?" You asked.
"... you just seemed like someone who wouldn't betray her comrades." Al rubbed the back of his helmet.
"You shouldn't trust me. You don't know me." You said your (e/c) eyes turned cold and empty.
"That's true but I know you're a good person. You have people who love you." Al spoke up in a soft tone that caught you off-guard.
You stared at Al then stood up and turned to your bed.
"That doesn't mean anything." You said, your back to him.
"(Name)?" Al watched you get into bed. "Good night." He whispered as he rested against the wall.

The next day you and the brothers arrived at the church watching Cornello turn water into wine and wood into a stone statue.
"What do you think?" Ed asked Al.
"Well it looks pretty obvious." Al spoke.
"He's using Alchemy." You chimed in.
"Yeah but still, something's wrong, it's not equal--" Ed began.
"Hey guys!" Rose greeted you and the boys. "How are you liking your first miracle gathering? He's amazing isn't he?" Rose said, watching.
"Well he's an amazing actor I'll give you that. But those aren't miracles he's dwindling you." Ed replied, Rose frowned at him.
"Ed we don't know that. We just know that he's using Alchemy and he's ignoring the laws." Al added.
"What laws?" Rose asked, looking at the boys with disbelief.
Ed got down from the suitcase he was standing on as he walked forward a bit.
"This isn't witchcraft it's science you don't make things out of thin air. In chemistry a reaction has to be balanced. So it has to be Alchemy." Ed explained.
"It's an equation, Rose. Your output has to be of equal mass of materials you started with. The based elements have to be similar too. Like the radio I fixed, I can make it bigger or something like that." Al explained.
"It's our founding principle, to obtain something of equal value must be lost. That Holy bastard is disregarding the law." Ed finished.
"Because he's working miracles!" Rose shot back.
Then you and the boys watch a girl give Cornello a dead bird. He placed his hands over the bird, a red light shined and the bird came back to life flying away. Everyone cheered, Ed smirked.
"What do you say now in I'll bet you can't do that with Alchemy. It's a true miracle it has to be." Rose said tears welling up in her eyes.

"Edward Elric?" Cray, the body guard repeated.
"Yes Cray. Word has it that he was certified a state Alchemist when he was only 12 years old. They call him the Fullmetal Alchemist." Cornello explained.
"You sure it's him father?" Cray asked, looking worried.
"I'm afraid so. And that's not all accompanying him is the Siren Alchemist." Cornello added.
"Are you serious?!" Cray choked on his spit as sweat dripped down his face. "I knew she looks familiar." He added under his breath.
"The military they represent must have witnessed our Paradise and wished to intervene. They're greedy evil Souls. We must save my children from them. Understand?" he proclaimed looking Cray in the eye.
"I will carry out the will of God." Cray replied with a bow.
"Your heavenly reward will be great my dear Cray. " Cornello spoke.

You, the boys, and Rose were resting at the chapel of the church. Rose was doing her offerings while you sat next to it in the front row.
"So, if you pray and polish the altar, someone can be brought back to life?" Ed mocked.
"Something like that." Rose turned to Ed with a fake smile.
Ed sighed and reach into his red trench coat and pulled out a notebook.
"Water (35 L); Carbon (20 kg); Ammonia (4 L); Lime (1.5 kg); Phosphorous (800 g); Salt (250 g); Saltpeter (100 g); Sulfur (80 g); Fluorine (7.5 g); Iron (5 g); Silicon (3 g), and trace amount of 15 other elements." Ed pointed out.
"What's that?" Rose asked looking confused.
"It's all the ingredients of the average adult human body down to the last specks of protein in your eyelashes." Ed replied. "And even though science has given us the entire physical breakdown there's never been an unsuccessful attempt and bringing a human to life." He added. "There's still something missing. Something scientists haven't been able to find in centuries of research." He said aloud then grinned at Rose. "So what makes you think that hack job priest with his parlor tricks is going to be able to?" He asked.
Rose frowned at him not saying a word.
"And in case you're wondering all those ingredients can be bought on a child's allowance. Humans can be built on a cheap. There's no magic to it." He finished.
"Well if there is no magic then you bring someone back to life!" Rose shouts at Ed.
After hearing that you looked over at Ed, remembering the night I told you about him and his brother are trying to bring back their mother.
"Just a matter of time Rose, science will find a way." Ed replies with a smile walking to the altar leaving you by yourself. "Science is the answer to everything. If I were you, I dropped the scriptures and pick up an Alchemy book. We're the closest things to God there are." Ed proclaimed.
"You're not a god, you're nothing close to it!" Rose objected looking very offended.
"And neither is the Sun. It's just a mass of hydrogen. Get too close to it like Cornello claimed and all you'll do is burn up." Ed added staring up at the sun god statue.
{BANG}
Ed and Rose jump in surprise as you got up from your seat and stood in front of them your gun loaded and ready to fire. But you only saw Al's helmet fly toward you and his armor falling to the ground through the door. Then Cray walked over the armor with a gun in his hand.
"Cray! What are you doing?" Rose asked freaking out.
"These three are the enemies of God. His will Rose not mine." Cray explained, pointing his gun at Ed but you stood in his way pointing your gun at him.
"Put the gun down. We are no threat to you." You instructed.
"Heh, I don't take orders from the dogs of the military." Cray grinned evilly as he slowly began to pull back the trigger.
"I don't think so mister." Al got up, catching Cray and Rose off guard.
Cray turned around to see a headless suit of armor moving on its own. Cray stumbled back in fear towards you. You lifted up your arm and struck his head with the handle of your gun causing him to fall to the ground.
"You didn't have to do that (Name)." Ed said picking up Al's helmet.
"If I did he'd be shooting up the whole place." You replied, setting up Cray against the wall, unconscious.
Ed smirked and chucked back Al's helmet.
"I got it I got it!" Al shouts as he caught his helmet.
"Strike!" Ed grins from ear to ear.
Rose screams as she trembled with fear.
"He doesn't have a head!" She pointed out.
"Yup that's Al!" Ed grinned.
"Please don't be scared Rose. This is how I am." Al said showing Rose his empty shell.
"You're not there..." Rose commented.
"It's true I don't have a body. But I'm here. This my punishment for stepping foot on Holy Ground where mortals are forbidden." Al proclaims put his helmet back on.
You noticed Ed looking depressed, full of guilt and despair.
"We made a mistake Rose. And we're paying for it." Al finished.
Rose looked like she couldn't take anymore of this, her eyes widened with shock, her whole body trembling in terror. She screamed and took off running.
"Rose wait!" Ed called out to her.
You suddenly took off after her gun still in hand.
"(Name)!" Ed called out to you and took off after you along with Al.
You arrived at a dark room where you saw Rose enter and proceeded but with caution.
"I don't see a church social down here, do you?" Ed asked with a cocky tone in his voice.
Then the lights suddenly lit up the room, Rose stood on the other side of the room.
"Rose..." you spoke as you walked toward her.
"(Name) wait!" Ed grabbed your wrist causing you to stop and look at him over your shoulder, he quickly let go of your wrist.
He then noticed something else.
"You wrestled with the darkness and prevailed. Thank you for bringing them here." Cornello preached, standing beside her. "State alchemist, brutal enforces. I had a feeling one of you would show up someday." He added.
"Well let's not chop that up to priest premonition, okay?" Ed replied with with a smirk. "You knew we'd come for the stone." He added.
Cornello sneered then held up his hand with his ring.
"Do you mean this stone, young man?" Cornello asked, Ed stared deeply at his ring and grinned deviously.
"I knew it. Alchemy without a transmutation circle. Completely ignoring the principle of equivalent exchange! It could only mean one thing..." Ed's voice echoed in the room.
"Yes, the miracle stone...the Philosopher stone!" Cornello proclaimed.
"That's it Al, it's ours."Ed nsraed at the one thing he and his brother have been searching for. "Cough it up, Cornello! That stone belongs to me now! And if you hand it over peacefully, I won't tell the people here what you've been doing!" He negotiated.
"What's that? Restoring their town to peace and prosperity? You know what would happen if my miraculous one just suddenly stopped. Nobody wants that." Cornello laughed confidently, turning his attention to Rose. "Do they Rose?" He smirked.
"Don't listen to him Rose! He's just just a conman!" Ed shouts.
"Nonsense. Would a conman restore restore life to a dying town? When I arrived, this town was full of strife and I brought peace. They came to me with parched throats, and I created water. I built buildings for them and even gave them money. They believe that heaven had forsaken them but I gave them hope and became their prophet. Why does the military want to destroy all this?" Cornello speeches with a nasty look in his eyes.
"I don't care what the military wants! I'm here for me!" Ed proclaimed catching the priest's attention.
"Oh? Then why is the famous Siren Alchemist with you?" Cornello glances at you.
"My job is to keep an eye on them, that's all." You spoke honestly with with a straight face.
"I need that stone! We need it to make something right again!" Ed added.
"So that's it! This is all about you and what you want! What about us?! You don't care!" Rose shot back, looking hurt.
"Rose we're only trying to--" Al began but his brother cut him off.
"It's no use!" Ed said.
"Enough! There is no point in arguing! If you want the Philosopher stone, you have to take it from me!" Cornello gave you a menace grin as his ring began to glow red.
The red light engulfed the ground, turning it into sand. The sand suddenly rose like a tidal wave and washed Al away, his heavy armor sinking to the bottom. Ed and you jumped back from the sand wave almost losing your balance.
"Al hang on!" Ed called out looking for his younger brother.
"Armor is a disadvantage in soft sand. You can't draw transmutation circles in it either." Cornello chuckled with with a psychotic grin.
You then noticed Cornello slowly moving his hand to his side the touched the wall behind him.
"Let me introduce you to one of my creations. You of all people will be able to appreciate this." He mentioned. "A chimera." He announced, sounding confident in himself.
To your right you hear a bloodthirsty growl of a beast. Slowly looking at the direction the noise is coming from you were face to face with a pair of red glowing eyes. It's slowly emerged from the Shadows the terrifying Beast had the body of a lion and the tail of a reptile. The Beast bared its fangs at you causing you to automatically pull out your gun.
"You combined different animals. The most brave kind of alchemy there is." Ed commented, glaring at the beast.
"Maybe so, but most effective!" Cornello yelled, followed by the chimera releasing a frightening roar.
It breathed out its nose then charge that you and the older Elric. You ready your stance and pointed the gun at the Beast. Ed stood by your side and smirked.
"Alright big fella, you wanna play? Let's go for it!" Ed said with a cocky attitude.
He clapped his hands together and pressed them on the sand. Then a blue light surrounded the boy. Bolts of blue Lightning cracked and flashed. Suddenly a metal spear emerge from the sand and into its creators hand.
"H-how did you do that without a transmutation circle?!" The bald priest's eyes grew wide with surprise.
The Chimera leaped toward Ed, ready to chow down on his meal but his food used his spear and swung it at him like a baseball bat, causing it to fly across the room.
Cornello scowled and threw his parakeet towards yours and Ed's direction.
"Bring me his head, my pet!" He ordered.
Hearing his words you pointed your gun at the parakeet and fired your bullets ricocheting off the small animal.
"Why aren't my bullets killing it?" You thought to yourself when suddenly the bird grew larger bigger than you and Ed. "Another chimera." You said aloud.
"I know!" Ed commented, readying his weapon as the beast zoomed down at his catch.
Ed thrusted his spear to the beasts heart but missed when the bird had the spear and its claws. Ed tried to pull back but the bird had a tight grip on it suddenly breaking it in half. Ed jolted at the disadvantage he was in and tried to dodge the next attack the creature had and caught Ed's left leg in its clutches. Ed cried in pain Rose yelped in horror and worry while Cornello chuckled in victory.
"Balwisyall nescell gungnir tron." You chanted.
Cornello and Rose looked over in your direction and gasped As you stood there chanting your Alchemy with your fingertips together. Then a blue light surrounded you and you're bow emerge from the sand and into your grasp.
Cornello then smirked because he noticed that you didn't have any arrows.
"Oh wow. This is the skill the famous Siren Alchemist can do? I'm utterly impressed." He mocked you with a cocky smirk.
You didn't pay attention to him and his cocky attitude you only focused on Ed struggling to get free from the giant bird. You reached over your shoulder and pulled out an arrow from nowhere clicking it on to your bow and pulled back the string. You didn't have the time to adjust your aim so you released your arrow sending it shooting for the leg of the bird that had a hold on Ed's leg. The Beast screeched releasing Ed's leg it's claws ripped his black pants.
"Wrong leg pal! And here's the right arm!" Ed threw a punch at the birds face, sending it flying back. "Thanks for the help (Name)!" He smirked at you.
You nodded and then choked on your spit as the lion chimera jumped Ed from behind and devouring his right arm. Ed let out a cry as you ran to Ed's aid pulling out another arrow but stopped when you notice the creature was having a hard time sinking its fangs into his flesh.
"What's the matter, you poor bastard? Can't get a good taste?" Ed's golden eyes glared at the deformed beast from behind his bangs.
Grunting he lifted the Chimera up in the air and threw it up Kickin It in the face. You ready to your arrow and shot the beast in the heart then stood a bit in front of Ed. You held out your right hand and chanted.
"Imuyteus ame no habakiri tron." You chanted, holding your free hand in front of Ed, shielding him from what was about to come.
Suddenly the arrow in the beast's chest began to glow brighter and brighter until it exploded. All that was left of the beast were it's ashes.
"Oh my god..." Rose looked at you in fear, your eyes suddenly glossed over. (Imagine your eyes like yuno gasai in the police station episode)
"B-b-but that's impossible! Those claws on your leg, the teeth on your arm. No one could survive that! Unless..." Cornello began his voice echoing in the hollow room. "Your limbs! They're fake!" He protested.
"Brilliant deduction." Ed spoke through his clenched teeth.
You pulled out another arrow and got it ready when you heard clothes ripping. You glanced over your shoulder.
"Oh god..." Rose trembled with fear.
"Don't look away Rose. Do you know what happens when you try to bring a human to life, when you cross into God's territory or whatever the hell it is! IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT?! LOOK!" Ed shouts, tearing off his red trench coat revealing himself with his automail right arm. He wore a tight black top underneath, making his masculine chest look visible.
Al approached you two as he managed to get out of the sand.
"His arm...his leg, they're machines..." Rose commented.
"I see... now I understand you Elric. You crossed the line you did what is strictly forbidden. You tried to create human life and your bodies were taken to the other side." Cornello figured out.
"Told you Rose. Get too close to the Sun and you burn." Ed repeated what he said to her before at the chapel.
"Apparently so but you are crazy enough to find out for yourself. You are the Fullmetal, the Fullmetal Alchemist!" Cornello announced the obvious as you and Ed stared your enemy down.
