- Past Time -
"Now!"
A swirl of blue lights surrounded a redhead woman two vials of colored liquids as she closed her eyes. Once the lights were gone the woman disappeared just to appear again immediately with the lights appearing again.
I looked at the space in front of her as a woman wearing greek clothes appeared.
The redhead threw a potion toward her but it didn't work.
The woman raised her hand making the other woman in the room fly against a wall.
"Chris!"
Chris immediately orbed to the woman's side at my call, leaning in front of her
"Don't look into her eyes!" Chris hushed, throwing a potion to the Greek but looking away but didn't work either. The woman as well as me obeyed him, turning around.
I sighed once the greek woman left, my eyes finding the redhead in slight sorrow
Chris helped her up "Are you alright?"
The woman stared at Chris warily before her eyes settled on her sister
"Oh, my god Paige!"
I grimaced, looking at the statue of her sister "Yeah. That's a bit of an OMG reaction" I said crossing my arms.
~8~
Phoebe Halliwell stared at the statue of her sister while me and Chris stood a few feet away.
"Don't worry" Chris reassured her. "She's alright"
Phoebe turned around to face us incredulously
"Well, she's not exactly alright" I intercepted, giving Chris a look "But she's not dead"
"Are you sure she's not?" Phoebe looked between us frowning
I nodded reassuringly
"Frankly, you see this a lot." Chris explained "Museums, universities, town centres..."
"Most of those statues, are not really statues" I added, pointing at Paige "They're people like your sister here who have been, uh, turned into stone"
Phoebe looked between us, frowning in distrust "Who are you?"
"Chris. Chris Perry" Chris answered before pointing at me "She's Bree Martin. We're from the future"
I waved at Phoebe as another woman, Phoebe's sister walked in.
She stopped seeing the statue of her sister and her eyes widened
"Oh! My god, tell me that's just a really good likeness of Paige" She demanded
Phoebe waved a hand, casually "Oh, it's Paige"
"Titan turned her to stone" Chris explained
That's when Phoebe's sister realized our presence
"Who-who are you?"
"That's Chris and the girl is Bree" Phoebe looked at her sister "They're from the future"
"Yeah, but just like twenty years or so" I waved a hand slightly, shrugging
"Uh-huh" Phoebe's sister hummed thoughtfully. "Friends or foes?"
Phoebe eyed us critically "Not so sure yet"
Chris huffed incredulously "What do you mean? I saved Paige, didn't I?"
Phoebe pointed at the statue, raising her eyebrows "Oh, you call that saving, do you?"
"Told you they weren't gonna trust us so easily" I smirked at Chris.
"Not now" Chris pointed at me, warningly "Look, I'm the one that put my life and my charge's life on the line here" I frowned at that. Since when did we agree I was playing his charge? "I didn't have to drop everything I was doing just to orb in and save her butt..."
"You-you orb?" Piper, Phoebe's sister interrupted surprised "You're a Whitelighter? And you...?" She looked at me
I fought back a grimace "A witch. But you gotta understand something. Chris indeed saved Paige. Where we come from, history shows Paige didn't get turned into stone on this day...She died" I looked at them seriously "And with her death the power of three died too, allowing Titans to rule and create a world you don't wanna see"
Phoebe and Piper exchanged a look
"Trust us" Chris looked serious and determined. "We're here to alter history. To help you save the future"
The sisters stayed quiet, contemplating our words before Phoebe narrowed her eyes
"Who sent you?"
Chris sighed "I can't answer that"
Phoebe raised a brow "Why not?"
"Because if we say the wrong thing, there's the risk of changing the future in ways we don't want" I explained
"Who's we?" Piper eyed me suspiciously
I didn't answer, crossing my arms
Chris took a step forward in front of me, protectively "All I gotta say is, is that if I hadn't got here when I did, Paige would have been the third Whitelighter victim"
"Wait, third?" Phoebe's eyes widened "I thought only one was missing?"
I grimaced "Not anymore"
Piper looked at our expressions, realizing we weren't joking before looking up to the ceiling, shouting "Leo! Leo!"
Immediately, orbs started to swirl around next to her. A man appearing.
I looked at Chris, lowering my eyebrows questionably
Chris didn't look at me, staring at his feet not looking at the man either
"Honey, I'm sorry I missed counselling but..." The man, Leo began apologetically
"Forget that" Piper interrupted him, waving her hand "We've got bigger problems" she gestured in our direction and Paige's
Leo's eyebrows furrowed in alarm, looking concerned "What happened?" He asked looking at Paige
Piper sighed in frustration, "Forget that too. How many Whitelighters are missing?"
Leo hummed distractedly, startled by the question "What?"
I picked at my nails, disinterested
"How many?" Piper repeated
"Uh, two" Leo hesitated. Piper and Phoebe exchanged a sigh, looking at us "That's what the Elders just called me for"
"Believe me now?" Chris tilted his head raising his eyebrows
"Who are they?" Leo frowned at us.
The sisters didn't get their chance to answer when there was a crash coming from downstairs
I sighed rolling my head backwards
"What was that?" Phoebe asked nervously
The three of them walked hurriedly out of the attic, without giving us a second thought
I glanced at Chris
"Shut up" Chris grumbled, turning around and heading toward the Book of Shadows
"I didn't say anything" I defended, crossing my arms
"I know you, Bree. You don't need words for being judgy" Chris said without looking up
"I wasn't being judgy, Chris" I said with a frown.
"You always are" Chris counteracted, "Since little you've always had something negative to say to other people. It's frustrating"
"And that's why you didn't want me here" I said, rolling my eyes "You think I'm gonna judge you for the way you just reacted?" I crossed my arms, pouting slightly "Come on! It wasn't that bad. At least you didn't act bitterly"
"Like you with Phoebe I'm sure" Chris said sarcastically
"First of all, Phoebe has nothing to do with this so keep her out of this" I pointed at him, narrowing my eyes. "Second. I'm doing what you told me to. I'm not saying anything from our time"
"And I am glad for that" Chris said, looking up "We came here to fix our lives, not screw them. So, please shut up and keep your comments to yourself about all of this"
"Right" I rolled my eyes, hearing a baby crying. I grimaced "Thinking he's just a baby right now makes me feel conflicted"
Chris sighed, looking up. His eyes held hidden sadness "We're here on a mission. We can't afford being distracted, Bree"
"I know"
~8~
"They need an update" I said, noticing the lack of information I was so used to seeing, while flipping through the book.
Chris smacked my hand, giving me a look "20 years, remember?"
I looked up when Piper walked in, stopping abruptly, her eyes flickering between us and the book
"What are you doing?" Piper demanded
"What does it look like I'm doing?" Chris frowned. I shot him a look. "I'm trying to find a way to free stone-cold Paige over here" he pointed at Paige
"Step away" Piper ordered us, glaring
Chris huffed "Please, like I haven't looked in this before"
I shot him an irritated look.
Chris briefly looked at me, flashing me a pointed look.
I silently huffed, realizing he was right.
"Look, Piper. We're not the bad guys here" I said softly, leaning forward slightly "We want you to stop the titans. Wouldn't it hurt to try and trust us a bit, would it?" I asked, putting on my innocent eyes. Piper stayed quiet, frowning. "Oh, and by the way, you should update your goblins entry" I added. Chris looked at me shaking his head, "What? You know it'll come in handy some day"
"Goblins?" Piper repeated
"Yeah, trust me" I nodded "It's gonna get ugly"
Piper seemed to consider it before shaking her head.
Chris looked at Piper, "Okay. You obviously don't trust us, but we touched the book, right? And the book thinks we're good. Shouldn't you?"
Piper took a step forward, still not trusting "Well, maybe you found a way around that"
Chris seemed irritated, taking a deep breath "Piper, come on. I'm just trying to help"
Piper crossed her arms, "Well, then if that's true, why don't you tell me how to vanquish the Titans?"
I tilted my head "That would resolve all of our problems, wouldn't it?"
Chris agreed, "Except you can't vanquish them"
"You mean, not without the power of three" Piper corrected
Chris hesitated "Maybe not even with that. The only way the Elders could stop them three thousand years ago was by infusing some mortals with a hell of a lot of power" he explained
"Way more than you guys have" I added
"So they can do that again" Piper drawled out in frustration
Chris shook his head "Not after what happened last time" At Piper's confused look, he started explaining "When the mortals trapped the Titans, the power went to their heads. They declared themselves gods and forced the world to worship them. The Elders swore they would never allow that to happen again"
Piper waved her hands, asking for a time out "Hang on a second, I'm having a ninth grade flashback. You're talking about the Greek gods, Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite?" At our nods, she looked skeptical "They were mortals?"
"Mythology left that part out" I explained "Not the only inaccuracy by the way"
Phoebe, a dwarf and a Leprechaun walked in
Piper looked at her sister, frowning "Phoebe, what are you doing? You're supposed to be..."
"I know, I know" Phoebe interrupted "But I thought they could help us free Paige. After all, a leprechaun's luck has helped us before" She said patting the dwarf on the shoulder
Dwarf rolled his eyes "He's the leprechaun, I'm one of the seven dwarves. Try to keep it straight, will you?" He grumbled at Phoebe
"Sorry" Phoebe said apologetically, withdrawing her hand
The leprechaun walked over to the statue, examining it "It's gonna take a lot more than just my luck to free this one. We're gonna need some pixie dust too"
"I'll get a fairy" The Dwarf said, walking out of the attic "Left my axe downstairs anyway"
Phoebe clapped her hands together, "Okay, so where are we?"
"Screwed" Piper deadpanned "Possibly. One thing I'm still not clear about. If the Titans are roaming around, why are they killing Whitelighters?" She turned to us
"Because they need their orbing power" Chris answered
"Their orbing power?" Piper repeated "What on earth would they wanna do with... " Her eyes widened in realization. I exchanged a knowing look with Chris "Oh my god. Leo!" She ran out of the attic, in a hurry
"So... She just figured it out" I said quietly to Chris
"Wh-What'd I miss?" Phoebe said confused, glancing at me "What did she just figure out?"
We sighed, "Nothing good"
I chewed my fingernail.
~8~
I watched in boredom at Phoebe, the dwarf a fairy and the leprechaun working together to unfreeze Paige.
The fairy threw magic dust on the statue and the leprechaun held out his gold nugget, hitting the statue with good luck.
"Now, laddie!" The leprechaun called out
The dwarf hit the statue with his pick but nothing happened.
I clapped in feigned enthusiasm "Awesome try, guys!"
The Dwarf shot me a look, "I don't see you trying" I shrugged. The dwarf looked at Phoebe "Don't know what else to try"
The leprechaun sighed "Running out of gold too, I'm afraid"
"Okay, well, there's gotta be something we can do. Just keep trying" Phoebe told them, before walking toward where Chris was looking at some objects on a shelf "What are you doing over here?"
"Nothing" Chris answered "You guys keep this stuff forever, you know that?"
Phoebe narrowed her eyes at our calm expressions, realizing something "You knew the Titans were after the Elders, didn't you?" We didn't answer, but that was enough for Phoebe "Why didn't you tell us?"
I sighed, "I told you before, Phoebe. There's some things we can't tell you" Chris shot me a pointed look, I ignored him "Some things you need to figure out on your own"
Phoebe raised her eyebrows "Even at the risk of making things worse?"
I hesitated.
Piper walked in. "Alright, what's going on?" She walked toward me and Chris "Leo is not responding to any of my calls and it's been over five hours"
I gnawed on my cheek, refraining myself from looking at Chris
"I really don't know" Chris answered calmly
Piper narrowed her eyes "Well, I really think you do."
"Look, you're the one who wanted him to go up there in the first place, not me" Chris said frustrated at their lack of trust "Alright, fine, maybe I do know. And if I'm right, he's gonna need some serious alone time"
Piper narrowed her eyes "You know what? Cut it out with the cryptic crap" she pointed st Chris. "You need to go up there and bring him back now. No more games"
I looked down, glancing at Chris knowing he was going to listen. That was the tone used that didn't let anyone argue
Chris sighed "Okay, fine, I'll go. But if I were you two, I'd focus on freeing Paige because you're gonna need her. Soon" Chris looked at me, giving me a look. I rolled my eyes. Chris orbed out
Piper sighed in frustration "I swear to god, if he does not come back with Leo, I'm gonna blow his ass back to the future, orbs and all"
I chewed on my thumbnail, nervously
Piper glanced at me, raising her eyebrows "Don't think I've forgotten about you, Miss future" I gulped, nodding slightly "You both have a lot of explaining to do"
Phoebe clapped her hands once "You know what? Why don't you go be with Wyatt and I'll take care of everything up here" she reassured her sister, "I will call you if anything happens, I promise. You're not breathing"
"Nope" Piper shook her head
Phoebe looked at her sister sternly "Breathe" Piper sighed, walking out of the attic. I was nervous "Okay, next sister" she talked to herself before sighing and looking at Paige
I eyed Phoebe nervously
~8~
I tapped my knees anxiously as again and again they tried the same thing to save Paige. I knew it could work, I had faith in that but that didn't mean I was starting to feel frustrated at the slowness
My eyes widened when the stone around Paige crumbled down freeing Paige, standing up "Finally!" I cheered up, making Phoebe give me a look pulling away from her sister after hugging her. "I was starting to think you didn't have it in you, guys" I said looking at the magical creatures.
They rolled their eyes.
Paige looked confused, looking around giving me a confused look "What happened? Where's the Titan? What the hell are these guys doing here? Who's she?" She pointed at me, I waved
"Long story" Phoebe replied, "I'll tell you on the way" she said pushing Paige toward the door, walking out of the attic. I followed, my arms crossed over my chest "And that's Bree. She's from the future"
"Hi" I waved at Paige.
Paige frowned confused after Phoebe told her what happened when she was a statue
~8~
We walked down the stairs, Phoebe spotting Piper sitting on the couch at the living room.
"There you are" Phoebe said
I looked around the house, nostalgic
Paige frowned "Okay, I get the whole epic Titan thing, but what I'm not getting is the Chris and Bree thing. No offense" she said looking at me
I waved a hand, dismissively
"Yeah, we're still trying to figure that part out" Phoebe replied, glancing at me. "Look who's not stoned" She said to Piper
"Welcome back" Piper looked at Paige "You've missed a lot"
"Yeah. I can't help but think it's kind of all my fault though" Paige said guilty "I'm the one who lured the Titans here. Insert I told you so"
"Done" Phoebe and I said at the same time.
Phoebe looked at me warily.
I smiled nervously
"I just kind of was obsessed with the whole weird dreams thing and... " Paige continued, frustrated at herself "But I am so sorry for any distress I might have caused you, Piper"
Piper waved a hand "Don't worry about it. I should've listened to you in the first place. Just trying not to worry or to panic. I've just got this terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach"
Phoebe frowned worriedly "What kind of feeling?"
Piper sighed "That Leo's not coming back"
I gnawed on my cheek, looking away from them
Phoebe's eyes softened "Oh, sweetie" She sat down beside Piper. "Of course he's coming back. How could he not?"
Piper looked down "I don't know, it's just something that Chris said about Leo having to go through this alone. I don't know" she looked up, narrowing her eyes directly at me "What the hell is he doing up there?"
I didn't answer.
The dwarf walked in. "Sorry to interrupt but we're all leaving now"
My eyes flickered at the dwarf, unsurprised
"Wait, why?" Phoebe asked
The Dwarf raised his eyebrows "Didn't you hear the distress call?" Phoebe shook her head, "The surviving Elders have all been flushed out and they need protection"
I threw my head backwards, closing my eyes.
"Surviving?" Paige repeated
The Dwarf shrugged "The Elf will stay behind to take care of the kid while you battle the Titans. Ciao" he walked away, leaving
Phoebe frowned "Wait, who said anything about us battling the Titans?"
"Leo." Piper whispered.
They looked at me.
I avoided their eyes
~8~
"Leo!"
I cringed. "Piper, come on. You have to let him do what he has to do"
"Very specific" Phoebe said sarcastically.
I shrugged not looking at her "He needs to be up there. Chris told you. It's the only way to stop the titans"
"Leo!" Piper shouted again, not paying attention to us "Leo, for God's sake. If you can hear me"
I groaned
"Come on, Missy" Phoebe frowned at me "Spill"
Chris orbed into the living room.
I sighed in relief.
"You?" Piper glared. "Where's Leo?"
I looked at Chris questionably. He nodded. I smiled slightly
"He's safe. For now" Chris replied and looked at Paige "Paige, hi"
"Hi" Paige waved, slightly confused
"Forget that" Piper narrowed her eyes "What do you mean for now?"
"What is this about us supposedly battling the Titans?"
"You're about to find out" Chris answered cryptically.
We exchanged a knowing look
"What's that supposed to mean?" Paige asked, crossing her arms
I looked at them intently, waiting
A tornado of light swirls around the girls.
I smiled in awe seeing that their outfits changed after the light disappeared, revealing them wearing Ancient Greece dresses.
Phoebe's brunette hair changed to a extremely long and thick blonde hair.
Paige is now holding a trident.
Phoebe gasped, widening her eyes.
I smiled, clapping once "That's what that means"
Chris smiled
"What happened?" Paige asked looking down at herself "What are we?"
"You're gods" Chris answered
I smirked
