Wolves Without Teeth
(New Series!)
-----
I took a deep breath the sharp cold winter air filling my lungs. My new apartment happened to not come with a heater hence why it was so cold.
I was a little scared to leave my cocoon of warmth and blankets but I needed to get food and unpack a little. Unwrapping myself I shivered all the way to my box of clothes. Why did I have to move in December?
Wearing a tee shirt and shorts didn't really help either. Pulling on my sweatshirt and jeans the room wasn't as cold before but I needed a fire or some other heat source.
Shivering all the way to the front door I slipped my feet into my boots then wrenched open the door only to have a small amount of snow fall into my hallway. I just had to get the bottom floor apartment.
Snow was falling lightly. Children ran around throwing snow at each other while couples enjoyed the weather together. I sighed, I wish I could have a relationship like that.
Passing an alley I noticed a few small patches of red snow. I knew the color well, it was blood. Not far from the patches a man lay. He had more traditional Japanese clothes with that were orange and white. Though his hair was a bright green, it was funny he looked a bit like a carrot.
Putting his right arm around my shoulders I heaved his body off the cold concrete. Thankfully I hadn't wandered far from my home. Kicking open the door in a not so graceful manner I set him down on my couch. It was still cold as hell in here.
Examining his torso it looked like a deep cut wound to the lower abdomen. I had some bandages that would stop the bleeding but it would need some disinfectant when he woke up. I had wrapped the wound and got a fire going with a few logs that a neighbor had so kindly given me.
A groan came from my couch. Poking my head around the corner of my kitchen, it seems sleeping beauty was waking up.
"I wouldn't stand up if I were you." Several other noises came from my couch and I snickered as he fell into my couch.
"Very elegant."
"Where am I?"
I stretched my limbs that were sore from standing in the same place for a while. "That is an excellent question. You're at my place and before you ask I'm Y/n a doctor in training."
He looked me over examining me to the point where it was slightly creepy. "Thank you Y/n. I'm Genji." Genji had introduced himself as if he expected a round of applause to follow.
Clearly he grew up rich. "You'll be good in a few minutes just stay warm." I sat down with a bag of chips next to my couch in front of the fire. Thank god the heat circulated through out my apartment.
"You are clearly not from here Ai, so what brings you to Hanamura?" He asked sliding off my couch and onto the floor next to me. To be honest I came here to escape the people that wanted my head on a stick back home.
"I wanted something new while studying abroad ." He hummed watching my face. His chocolate brown eyes were flitting around the room taking in his surroundings.
"Is that really why?" He rested his head on a cushion eyes closed. Well he must have seen through my lie slightly.
"Yes." He gazed a me for a bit then stood.
"Well Y/n I have business to attend to." I stood myself brushing off the dust on my pants.
"Alright bu-" I paused my sentence when I turned around. "Ugh really." He didn't even asked about his injuries or anything. I walked on to my room yet and arrow landed centimeters away from my nose paper attached to the shaft.
