Chapter 11

"I've checked high and low, even places not to expect 76. I think he's onto us." Charles reported as he walked about an abandoned warehouse. They had been searching the town for the past 6 hours.

"It's 1:00 at night, can we go back and sleep?" Lena asked as she yawned in the comms. "No, he's here. I know he is." 76 said. Charles rolled his eyes and sighed. He walked around an abandoned warehouse to see if this 'Arsenal' was hiding out in.

He stopped in his tracks as he heard some scuffling in a room nearby. Charles crept to the side entrance of the room and peered in. He noticed a man hurrying back and forth as he placed gears and weapon parts into a large duffle bag.

"Should have moved. I feel as if someone is looking for me. Just isn't my day." The man said before rushing about as he placed what looked like a modified M14 in his bag. Charles crept into the room lightly before as the man continued to place more parts in his bag. Charles winced lightly as The Rider began to get restless. He sighed and walked out in the open as his skin melted and the Rider took form.

"Arsenal." He said making the man jump and turn. "Oh, it's you. Come to kill more people?" Arsenal asked before pulling out a twin barrel pistol and firing at the skeleton.

"What? No, hold on-." He never got to finish his sentence before the blast hit his chest, sending Charles flying back to the entrance.

"He wasn't kidding, damn that pistol is a monster." Charles said. He hoisted himself up as Arsenal aimed the pistol at him again.

"Hold on Rambo, I just want to talk." He said holding his hands up. Arsenal hesitated before lowering his pistol.

"Well I've got some questions. Who are you with? Black Badge?" He asked as he holstered his pistol. Arsenal stilled hovered his hand over the pistol as Charles reverted back to human form and groaned lightly.

"Believe it or not, but Overwatch." Charles replied. Arsenal backed up and laughed. "You expect me to believe that? You're funny Mr. Williams. But Overwatch is gone, dead in the past. Like the rest of history for that group." He said lowering his eyes to the ground. Charles felt this man held something bad about the group.

"I am an Overwatch agent, Arsenal. Winston had recalled old agents back to active duty. The lot of them, Tracer, Mercy, Lucio, Reinhardt, everyone." Charles said. Arsenal returned his gaze back to Charles and scowled.

"I don't buy it. If Overwatch is back, where is Barnes? Agent Chloe Hill?" Arsenal asked. Charles pursed his lips and gripped his fist tighter.

"Forgive me, but who is 'Barnes'? I was an agent during the Silver Age, but I never knew any Agent 'Chloe Hills'." Charlie replied. "Hills along with me were apart of a group called 'The Unit'." Arsenal answered. Charles remembered hearing from a couple of the older members about the Unit. A special forces group of the UN that also had Overwatch influence. A group that stopped terrorist acts from happening when Overwatch wasn't there to stop it.

"No, even though the agents were recalled, she must've never answered the Recall and thought it was a hoax." Charles replied. "I never seen any of the agents from the Unit, I'm sorry Mr. Richards." Arsenal gritted his teeth before rushing forward and placing a knife onto Charles's throat.

"I don't believe you." He hissed. Charles stared into the man's eyes to see pain. Pain he must've held onto when Overwatch was forced into hiding. He realized this man must've loved this woman. Charles understood his distrust of him, hell, he's got a demon in him and demons lie.

"I'm sorry Aaron, I'm sorry but I don't know the whereabouts of Barnes. I don't know if she is alive." Charles choked out. Arsenal stared into his eyes before removing the blade and sheathing it.

"Go." He said barely audible. Charles stood there as Arsenal stared at the floor. "Didn't you hear me? I said BEAT IT!" He yelled making Charles jump.

"Aaron please." Charles pleaded before Aaron removed the pistol and aimed it at Charles's chest. "You're practically invulnerable when you were the Rider, I don't think you are as tough in this form." He threatened the agent. Charles stared at Arsenal until he noticed a single tear fall down his face. He shifted his gaze to the ground and started to walk away.

"It wasn't your fault kid, Jack was always secretive when it came to the Unit. So I do apologize for that." Aaron said before holstering his pistol as Charles made his exit. He walked out to the open to see his bike waiting for him. He looked back at the warehouse to see Arsenal staring at him before leaving the window. Charles sighed and hopped onto his bike and rode off.

"I'm picking up a disturbance." The Rider said. "What do you mean?" Charles asked stopping at a red light.

"Souls that need to be punished." The Rider said before taking control and speeding off. Charles yelped as the Rider took over and guided the bike throughout traffic.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey! We talked about this! You can just hijack my body whenever you feel like it." Charles said. The Rider ignored him and stopped in front of an empty building.

"What?" Charles asked as the Rider put up the kickstand and dismounted. The Rider took over and continued towards the building.

"Care to talk to me?" Charles asked. "He's here." The Rider said. "Who?" "Lucifer." The Rider replied. He kicked down the door and entered to see the same man from before sitting on a chair with his feet kicked up on a table.

"Ahh, Mr. Williams. Good to see you, how's Jennie?" He asked with a smirk. "What do you want?" Charles asked. Lucifer placed his feet on the ground and waved his hands as a teapot and two cups appeared.

"Please, have a seat. The tea is going to go cold." Lucifer said. Charles hesitated before walking forward and sitting down across from the devil. Lucifer looked at him and chuckled lightly.

"Oh calm yourself. I'm not here to hurt you." He assured the skeptical man. "Sorry for not trusting you. Last time I trusted someone like you, my master was killed." Charles said as the teapot levitated and filled the two cups. As the brown liquid entered the two cups, steam rolled off the top of the steaming beverage.

"Sugar?" The Devil asked holding a small bag with sugar cubes in it. Charles continued to stare at him. Here he was, having a tea party with the ruler of Hell.

"I know about that old monk fellow, and Jackson. Shouldn't have given him the power of the Rider, but how could I resist. A deal's a deal." Lucifer said with a grin.

"I am glad to see you and the Rider are cooperating though. That's a change I haven't seen before." He said as he took a sip of his tea. Charles lifted his hand hesitantly and grasped the handle of the cup and lifted it to his lips as he drank.

"You have nothing to be afraid of child. I assure you. I am an angel after all." Lucifer said. "Again, forgive me for trusting you." Charles replied. "It's alright, I get that a lot. No one ever sees old Lucifer as an angel. Always the villain." He said.

"A fallen angel. Anyways, what do you want from me? I am a busy man." Charles asked placing the cup down and crossing his arms.

"Still the riled little boy from before. I like you Charlie, can I call you Charlie?" Lucifer asked. "No, only close people can." Charles retorted. Lucifer put on a face of mock hurt.

"I thought we were close. I did save your sister after all. Speaking of Jennie, how is she doing so far? Doing well I hope?" Lucifer asked taking another sip of his drink.

"She's fine. You wouldn't have reason to be here if you either were to offer something." Charles said taking another sip of his tea.

"Down to business aren't you? Well, I can help with searching for Jackson." Lucifer said making Charles almost do a spittake on the Devil. He coughed before clearing his throat.

"What?" Charles asked now giving his full attention. "You heard me right, I can give you the location of Jackson." Lucifer said.

"But you want something in return." Charles said slumping down in his chair. "You already have my soul, what more do you want?" He asked glaring at Lucifer.

"Easy child, I don't want anything. I'm on the same team as you, I dislike Jackson as much as you do. He's turned into a jerk if you ask me. I did the same thing I did to you, just to talk, and he spits in my face and walks away. Like really, you are that rude to the man that gave you power to kill people with a stare?" Lucifer ranted. Charles sighed before taking another sip.

"Speaking of killing people with a stare, it didn't work with me." He said. "Ah, I think you tried it on that LaCroix girl. Widowmaker I think she goes by now? Yeah, I guess she doesn't feel any remorse for killing her victims. But that's Talon for you. Crafty bunch they are for repressing emotions. Genius, but horrible. Even for me and I torture souls that are damned." Lucifer said.

"So, about looking for Jackson." Charles said trying to change the subject. "Yeah, here's a flashdrive with the information for him. I've also upgraded your Rider's senses to look for him. You should be able to find him once he goes into his Rider form." Lucifer said. Charles held the drive in his hand as he looked at it intently.

"What do you want in return?" Charles asked. "Nothing Charlie. I want Jackson gone as much as you do. So, toss in some punches. For me." Lucifer said with a wicked grin.

"Can I ask you something before you go." Charles asked as the tea and cups disappeared. "What is it?" Lucifer asked.

"Do you know what happened to my parents?" He asked. Lucifer looked into the boy's eyes and sighed.

"I want to tell, I desperately want to. But I can't. You are meant to find out on your own. But I will tell you one thing." Lucifer said. "What?" Charles asked with wide eyes.

"They are not dead. My time is up, until next time Mr. Williams." Lucifer said before disappearing and leaving a wide eyed Charles.

"They're still alive." Charles said. He sat there in the empty building until his commlink started to beep.

"Huh, go ahead." He said getting up and walking outside. "Where are you at Williams? It's 3 in the morning. We are waiting on you." 76 said. "Sorry, had to drive to clear my head. I'll be there." He replied getting up and heading outside. He started his bike and drove off as a figure stood on a building far away from the one he left.

"Yeah I've got eyes on him." The person said. "Okay Sombra, keep a minimum safe distance from him and follow them back to their base." A raspy voice replied.

"Acknowledged." Sombra said before going invisible and darting off.
