Chapter 17
As Charles and Angela arrived at the airport, Charles had an uneasy feeling. "Charlie, are you okay?" Angela asked, sensing his uneasiness.
"Yeah, just some airplane sickness." He replied. Angela nodded as she grabbed her things and exited the plane. Charles grabbed his bags and left as he hurried off to catch up with the quick Angel.
"There's something here that's affecting my senses here." The Rider said as Charles felt another wave of nausea.
"We'll figure it out soon enough." Charles said rubbing his aching head. As he exited the plane, Angela waited patiently as he walked towards her.
"We're going to have so much fun here Charlie, I promise to make it worth your while." Angela said with a smile. Charles nodded as the two left the airport and hailed a taxi to take them to the doctor's residence. Charles had had finished placing his baggage in the trunk when he glanced to the doors and saw a man leaning on a pillar. He wore a black leather jacket, brown khakis pants, brown boots and a chain wrapped around his chest. The man nodded at Charles before getting up and walking away.
"Something about that man, he seems familiar." The Rider said as the two watched the man get on a Harley motorcycle with blue paint and flames etched on the body. The cycle started and the man left. Charles swore he saw small patches of blue flames start as he pulled away.
"You coming Charlie?" Angela asked from the backseat. "Yeah." Charles replied as he watched the cyclist pulled into traffic and soon, he was gone.
"Weird." Charles said as he opened the door and sat next to Angela. The doctor giggled with glee as the taxi pulled away from the airport and to her place. She gripped Charles's hand and smiled at him.
"Ready for 5 weeks of fun?" She asked. "For you, I'm ready for anything." He replied kissing her hand in a gentleman-like stance.
~Talon HQ~
"Are you sure about it Sombra?" Reaper asked as she replayed the footage. "Si, it's that Williams boy and the doctor. What else more do you need?" She asked in annoyance.
"Nothing, the boy just seems familiar." He said softly. Though in his mind, he was having an internal fight with himself.
"It's Charlie." "Who cares? They are only our next targets." "Charlie is not a target, but I do have a reckoning with Angela." "Did you not remember back when the base was destroyed? He is that flaming skeleton, he's an enemy of Talon. Either you kill him, or she will."
Reaper growled lightly before turning and leaving the room. Snow walked by and glanced at him.
"Any new missions Reaper? It's bored being here with Widowmaker. The only person that's fun to hang out with is Sombra." She said cracking her knuckles.
"No Julie, I just need some time to think." Reaper snapped as he left for his quarters. Sombra walked over and watched with Snow as the brooding man walked away.
"Always the 'Dark and intimidating' person he is." Sombra said. "Yeah, so, anything on the footage? I'm bored listening to Widowmaker talk about being cold and such." Snow complained.
"SHUT UP SNOW!!" Widowmaker yelled from beyond the corridors. "Damn, some ears that one has." Snow joked as she walked in with Sombra. The screen showed Charles and Angela inspecting the headset Widowmaker wore during that fateful battle.
"Huh, so what now?" Snow asked. "Well, I've got them on satellite at the moment. It could be our chance to rid Overwatch of their medic and firepower, pun unintended." Sombra said making Snow giggle.
"Alright, so whose leading this op?" She asked. Sombra shrugged her shoulders. "Don't know, told Mr. Brightside about and he just tensed up before leaving." Sombra replied. Snow held her chin before smirking lightly.
"If Reaper won't lead this, perhaps we will. Been a while since I've been to Switzerland." Snow said. "Right, no one will know. I'll just put we are still in base. Maybe I could convince Widowmaker to cover for us." Sombra said as purple lines exited the tips of her fingers and entered the computer.
"I'll wait by the transports." Snow said before leaving Sombra. The purple, electronic woman smiled as she left the room and headed towards Widowmaker's location. Currently, the assassin was in the training room.
"Hey Talon friend, I wanted to ask you something." Sombra said making Widowmaker miss her shot.
"What is it Sombra?" Widowmaker growled. "I was wondering if you could cover up for me and Snow, we'll be out of base on a recon mission. Is that okay?" She asked the purple assassin. Widowmaker sighed before nodding.
"Thanks!" Sombra said before zipping off. "Foolish girl." Widowmaker said before lining up her shot and firing at an image of Tracer.
Sombra returned to the hangar to see Snow waiting by a small ship. "All set, let's get going." Sombra said as the two entered the ship and left.
~Charles and Angela~
Angela brought Charles to a chocolate shop and walked about the different delicacies. "Hmm, this looks good." Angela said grabbing a box of chocolates as Charles waited by the exit.
"That man, I don't know why, he just seems familiar. Perhaps this is from the Rider's feelings." Charles said. "Trust me, I know what you mean. He seems familiar. Perhaps when we return, we can leave the house and find him." The Rider suggested.
"You're right, for now we have to do what Angela asks." Charles said. The Rider grunted in agreement as Angela went over to him with a radiant smile.
"Well, I got us some candy for when we go back home. Also, what would you want for dinner? I know airplane food isn't that good." Angela asked as they exited the shop and drifted about the plaza.
"What ever you desire my dear." Charles replied as he smiled at her. Angela placed her hand on her chin as she thought.
"Well, we could go somewhere special like an Olive Garden or a buffet, or a fast food restaurant. I'm thinking of Olive Garden." Angela said with a sly smile.
"Why am I not surprised? You did have the look." Charles said making Angela gasp. "There's a look?" She asked. "It's not that hard to miss." He teased. She scoffed and smacked his arm playfully.
Sombra and Snow wore clothes to blend in with the populace and watched as the two left. "They're on the move." Snow said.
"We follow them." Sombra said placing down money and leaving as Snow followed. The Talon operatives followed the two into a Olive Garden as they kept their distance. Charles glanced behind him to see them waiting in line.
"Good evening, quite the night am I right?" He asked, making small talk. "Si, quite the night." Sombra said putting on a smile. Snow nodded her head as she glanced at the painting on the wall.
"Well, I hope you have a great evening." Charles said as him and Angela were taken to their seats.
"You too." Snow said with a forced smile. "I can't believe I have to be nice, to Overwatch agents no doubt." She hissed to Sombra.
"I know, mi amiga, but stealth is of the essence." Sombra replied. A waitress walked over to them and brought them to their seats, close to Angela and Charles.
Charles glanced over to see the two and waved. Sombra nodded as Snow waved back. After getting their food, Charles and Angela laughed and talked throughout the night, nothing of importance to the two Talon operatives.
"This is getting us no where, why don't we just attack them now?" Snow asked in annoyance. "It will blow our cover, enjoy your meal mi amiga." Sombra said as she returned to eat her meal.
After finishing their meal, Charles and Angela left before saying their goodbyes to Snow and Sombra. Snow watched as Charles held Angela's arm and walked back outside.
"Come on Sombra, let's go." Snow said placing a few bucks on the table and leaving. Sombra groaned lightly and walked after the ice user.
Charles and Angela walked about a deserted street until Charles stopped. "What is it Charlie?" Angela asked. Charles turned his head as his skin began to melt.
"I know you're there." He said as the Rider's form took over. Angela took a few steps back and pulled out her blaster from her purse. Snow and Sombra jumped down from the rooftops and glared at them.
"I know you've been snooping around amigos, it's time to silence you." Sombra said pulling out her weapon. Charles stepped forward and drew his chain.
"Good luck trying." He growled as the chain grew red hot. Ice formed on Snow's arm as she prepared to attack.
"What are you supposed to be? A low-budget Iceman from the X-Men series?" Charles asked, making Snow growl.
"I'll show you 'low-budget'!" Snow yelled as she lunged forward and stabbed forward. Charles took the stab in the chest. He looked down at the wound before laughing.
"Nice try, did your boss not tell you who I was?" Charles asked as he grabbed her arm and removed the icicle. He threw her back at Sombra as the Talon operative sighed.
"What have we told you Snow? Don't let your anger get to you. Always cramps up these ops." Sombra said pointing her gun at Angela. Charles jumped in front and spun his Hellfire chain as the bullets came at him, he deflected them back as they embedded themselves into the walls of the buildings.
"Not bad mi amigo, I'll give you that. But this is your last chance, let us end you and no hassle is needed on both fronts." Sombra said as she loaded in another clip.
"Fat chance." Angela snapped. "Oh my, quite the fire in this one. How about we snuff that out." Snow said as she dashed forward, kicking Charles out of the way and slicing the top of Angela's arm. The medic yelped as she dropped her blaster.
"Back off!" Charles yelled and kicked Snow back. He stood in front of the downed medic and faced the two operatives. Sombra and Snow laughed as Charles stood ready to defend with his last breath if need be.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." A voice said behind the two Talon operatives. "Or else you shall perish at the hands of the Ghost Rider." He said as his skin melted before the four fighters. Another Rider, more older than the previous incarnations, stood as he pulled out a shotgun.
"Oh this beauty, this 'ere is the Hellfire Shotgun. Painful for that one over there, deadly, but I think it'll hurt a lot worse for you two." The Rider said.
"Blaze, thought you weren't going to show your face after you betrayed us." Charles's Rider said.
"Oh well, he was boring anyways. I still clean up the filth, but I do it on my own terms." Blaze said. The two Talon operatives glanced at each other before Sombra went invisible and a cloud of mist appear, masking the two's escape.
"Well, thanks for the assist I guess." Charles's Rider said before he shifted back to normal. "Would you tell me when you're going to hijack my body again? It's getting to be a real pain." Charles groaned. Blaze shifted back to his human form and smirked at Charles.
"You get used to it kid, are you two alright?" He asked helping Angela up. "Nothing but a little scratch, I'll be fine." Angela said as she placed her blaster back in her purse.
"Who are you?" Charles asked. "Blaze, Johnny Blaze, the first Ghost Rider." Johnny said.
