Chapter 5
After announcing that they have a supernatural demon on their team, life didn't exactly continue well for Charles. Every morning, he would awaken to the Rider whispering in his mind.
"Would you be quiet please?" Charles asked as he bathed. "There are souls that need to be punished Williams, let me loose!" The Rider begged. He sighed before finishing his shower and drying himself off. He put on a pair of clean clothes and walked to the side of his bed. He looked at the sleeping form of his love, Dr. Angela Ziegler.
"She has done something horrible that needs to be punished." The Rider said reaching towards the sleeping angel.
"No, you will not hurt her." He growled. The Rider hesitated before complying. "She is the one that made Reaper who he is today." The Rider said before going quiet. Angela started to stir and awoke to Charles looking down at her.
"Good morning liebes, I hope your sleep was pleasant." She said yawning. Her yawn infected Charles's heart, it was one the sweet things in life to hear. Rather than constant screaming and the Rider whispering in head.
"Yes it was pleasant. Now, I will be gone for a while, The Rider is getting restless." He said leaning down to kiss her forehead. She looked at him with a concern look and nodded.
"Please keep him safe." She said. "I understand." The Rider said through Charles. She smiled as Charles walked out of their room and to the garage.
"Yo, Charlie, where you heading?" Hana asked jogging over. "Just to get some fresh air, the Rider is being antsy." He replied opening the door to the garage.
"Well, if by any chance, can you get some groceries? Preferably ones I need." She asked handing him a list of junk food and soda.
"I am the Devil's bounty hunter, not your personal butler." The Rider said. Hana scoffed and crossed her arms.
"Just bring them back normal, I don't want burned chips like last time." She said before leaving. The Rider growled before placing the list in his pocket.
"Calm down, it's just groceries." Charles said suppressing a giggle. The Rider went silent as Charles uncovered the bike for their last mission. He managed to clean off some rust here and there, he also replaced the engine and other parts. He walked towards the door and lifted it open as the morning breeze swept through.
He walked back to the bike and kicked up the kickstand and started it. The bike roared to life as Charles's sped out. Being out on the road, it was comforting. He could listen to the roar of the engine as he sped on through the highway. Sadly it was short lived as a police cruiser stopped him.
He grumbled and slowed to a stop as the flashing blue and red lights flashed behind him in the morning light. He removed his helmet and hung it on the handle as he kicked out the stand to hold the bike in place and dismounted.
"Morning son, you know how fast you were going?" The officer asked walking up to him. "I'm sorry officer, I guess I was just lost in thought that I forgot to check the speed limit." Charles replied with a light laugh. The officer looked at him and smiled.
"License and registration please." He said holding his hand out. Charles nodded and pulled out his license and registration for the officer. He took them and returned to his car.
"You're unusually quiet today." He said. "The officer, he seems, familiar." The Rider spoke before going silent as the officer returned.
"You check out alright sir, I'll just give you a ticket for the speeding and you'll be on you're merry way." The officer said with a smile. Charles nodded and returned his license and registration back in his wallet as the officer wrote out his ticket.
"You." The Rider spoke through Charles. The officer stopped and looked at Charles as his eye lit up fire red.
"Oh, I see the Rider has a new vessel." The officer said. He placed his ticket book back in his pocket and crossed his arms, smirking.
"Damn it, would you quit that?" Charles said rubbing his head. The officer looked at Charles and clicked his tongue.
"You're an idiot for making a deal with Lucifer." He said looking at Charles with distaste. "What did you sell your soul for? Money, women, power?" He asked. Charles looked at him before shaking his head.
"No, I did it to save my sister's life." He replied. The officer had a look of shock on his face before he shook it off.
"How do you know so much about the Rider anyway?" Charles asked. "Because, like you, I was a host for the Spirit of Vengeance." The officer said. Charles's eyes widen.
"How were you able to keep your soul?" He asked the officer. "Sadly, my soul is still with Lucifer. I've just made it my mission to keep the Rider in me from surfacing." The officer replied. "Look, if you ever need any help with the Rider, call me. Name's Jackson." He said handing a phone card to Charles. Jackson waved good bye before getting into his cruiser and driving away, making Charles think if there are more like him.
~Timeskip~
With some difficulty, Charles made it back to base before sundown. He parked the bike in the garage and brought two arm full of bags from the store. He walked to the kitchen as Angela, Mei, and Winston were in the kitchen.
He collapsed under the weight and breathed heavily as Mei and Angela yelped and helped get the bags off of his arms. Winston grabbed a jar of peanut butter and lumbered off before Angela could see the jar.
"Mein Gott Charles, if you needed help you should have asked!" She yelped bringing him to chair. "I'm good, honestly. Just a little winded. That's all." He said catching his breath. Mei laughed lightly and started to put the groceries away as Angela and Charles helped her. He grabbed two bags full of doritos and a case of mountain dew and walked to Hana's room. He could hear her yelling in Korean. He guess she was playing a game and losing.
He knocked on the door and waited a few. "Coming!" He heard her yell. Crashes and Korean curses could be heard as she made her way to the door. She opened it and smiled at the man that came to her rescue.
"If you weren't dating Angela, I might as well make you mine." She quipped as Charles entered her room to see trash littering the ground with dorito bags and bottles of mountain dew. He said and placed her food on her bed and grabbed a broom. She watched as he cleaned her room of garbage and rearranged most of her furniture so it could be somewhat livable.
"You didn't have to do that Charlie, honestly." She pouted crossing her arms. "Well, it was either clean it so Angela doesn't scream at you for a pigsty or have her force you to clean it." He said sweeping up a few more specks of dust and placing the broom and dustpan in the closet.
"Hey, while you're here, want to play some games with me? For my stream that is." She asked holding her hands behind her back and giving him puppy dog eyes. He sighed and smiled.
"Sure." He replied as she jumped with joy. Over the next hours, Hana and Charles got into some heated arguments as they both yelled at each other.
"Oh come on! I was behind the wall before you could snipe me!" Hana yelled. Charles giggled. "Fine, be a puss with a sniper." She said changing classes to a noobtube and nailing him.
"Me? A puss, you're using a damn noobtube. Don't even try to say that shit." He retorted. She smiled eviliy and continued to use the tube on poor Charles.
"You know what, that's it!" He yelled before changing classes to just a pistol and knife. He had on a perk that could silent his movements as he came up behind Hana multiple times and knifing her.
"You fucking pansy!" She yelled. The chat lit up with people saying 'Lol' 'Git Good D. Va' or Charles's personal favorite, 'Get nerfed on D. Va'.
The game ended with Charles getting a trickshot with the sniper and basking in his win against the supposed champion.
"I thought you were going to be a challenge." He said mocking Hana's line when they were in battle.
"That was just a warm up, if you want to have a challenge, 1v1 me in Starcraft II." She said crossing her arms. Charles was about to say something before the Rider hissed in his mind.
"It's time Charles, you know what to do." He said. "Okay, maybe another time Hana. Skeletor is getting pissy." Charles said. Hana pouted and sighed.
"Alright, alright, maybe tomorrow." She said as Charles made his way to the door. Charles walked to the mission room as 76 and Angela stood over papers.
"Ah, Agent Ghost, glad you could join us." 76 said nodding in his direction. Charles nodded as 76 continued.
"Well, we've gotten reports that the assassin 'WIdowmaker' might make a move against the Shambali speaker Tekhartha Mondatta. Agent Tracer has already taken off to King's Row to see if she can interrupt the assassin. I want you to go there as back up." 76 explained as Angela took a few steps in front of him.
"Take care of my Charles, Rider." She said looking into Charles's eyes. "I understand." The Rider replied. She smiled and hugged him.
"You have your orders Agent Ghost, good luck." 76 said before he went back to his papers. Charles ran down to the garage and pulled his bike towards a waiting dropship for him.
~Timeskip~
The dropship landed in a large parking lot near an old rundown school. Charles brought the motorcycle out and revved the engine and sped off towards the meeting. He had done his research back in Nepal with Genji and Zenyatta on Mondatta and his what he was striving for.
Omnic and human relationships, similar to a male and female or loving someone of the same sex. That kind of love, could help stop the 2nd Omnic Crisis and spare the earth of more scars. Charles drove to a parking lot near the meeting and parked his bike. He dismounted and walked towards the group of Omnics and Humans waiting for Mondatta.
"They're here." The Rider spoke. Charles nodded and climbed a rusted fire escape towards the roof. A little girl watched as he climbed, he noticed her and made a 'shh' motion with his finger. The girl giggled before asking "Are you a hero?"
"Shhh little one, between you and me. I am, but the world doesn't want us around." He replied. She stared at him before nodding fiercely.
"Good, now back to sleep with you little one. Get good marks." He said rubbing her head before continuing his way to the roof.
"Human, Machine, we are all one within the Iris." Mondatta's metallic voice sounded. Charles looked over to see Tracer walking through the crowd before she perked her head and turned to the rooftops. Charles backed off as she didn't know he would be there. He peeked his head to see leave the crowd and navigate her way to a fire escape and blinked to the roof.
"She must've sense the assassin is here like we did." The Rider said. "You're probably right." He said as he unslung his rifle and ran, jumping from rooftop to rooftop thanks to the Rider. He noticed one guard was on the ground, a bullet imbedded in his skull.
"The assassin, from before. She's close." The Rider said. Charles kept moving until the sound of gunfire erupted inside a building. He turned to see lights of the gun flash in a 5 story building. He ran and jumped through a window before making his way towards where Tracer was being pinned by Widowmaker.
'Hold on, I'm almost there!' He thought. He appeared on the rooftop to see Tracer throwing a pulse bomb towards the purple clad assassin. With precision accuracy, she shot the flying bomb as the explosion threw Tracer off the roof. Widowmaker jumped off and aimed for Tracer's Chronal Accelerator.
"Her true target is Mondatta behind Tracer!" The Rider yelled. Charles brought his fingers to lips and whistled.
~Back at the Parking lot~
A group of teenagers walked around until they saw Charles's red bike.
"Yo, you should take that thing for a spin." One said shoving his friend. The kid laughed before stalking over to the bike. Before he could touch it, the bike burst into flames and took off, leaving the teens shaking in fear.
"I am not coming back to King's Row if that happens here." One boy said.
~Charles and Tracer~
Charles dropped his gun and dashed forward as his bike drove in front of Mondatta. Thanks to the Rider's enhanced speed and near invulnerablity, he managed to dive and tackle Widowmaker. But her shot rang out as it sped forward towards Tracer. She recalled, but the bullet kept going until it pinged off of Charles's flaming bike. The group, including Mondatta, stared in amazement at the flaming bike.
Tracer reappeared on the rooftop, Widowmaker and Charles fell to the ground below as he made a crater from where he and Widow landed. She coughed before crawling out of the crater, but Charles was faster and appeared in front of her.
She looked up as Charles stood. "You, you have a lot to pay for." His voice changed to the Rider's as the skeletal monster appeared. A news crew hide in an alleyway to record the Rider.
He grabbed Widowmaker by the throat and lifted her off the ground. "Look into my eyes, you're hands are stained by the blood of the innocent. Feel their pain." He rasped as the fearless assassin screamed in agony before going limp in his grasp.
He snapped his head to look at the news crew, they yelped before running away. He whistled for his bike as it rode in next to him. Tracer blinked down and stared at the Rider.
"Is she dead?" She asked poking her face. "No, not yet. She is experiencing the pain she's caused." The Rider said before mounting his bike and placing Widowmaker in front of him.
"There is a dropship to take you back to base." He said before riding off. Lena watched as all that was left of the Rider was a streak of flames before they disappeared.
~Timeskip~
As the Rider made it back to base with Widowmaker, a man in a police uniform was waiting for him.
"You damn bone headed idiot! Do you know what you just started?" He yelled at the Rider. "Stopping someone who needed to be punished before she killed again." The Rider stated.
"You didn't just stop someone who needed to be punished." He started before his skin melted off to show he too was a Ghost Rider.
"You've showed the world of our existence. Lucifer is not going to be happy. We are bounty hunters of the night, not heroes for a petty group!" Jackson scolded. The Rider walked towards him menacingly.
"Do you think I want to be here? I'm forced to be this 'hero' because Charles here is in love with that doctor! As much as I want to make her feel the pain she gave to Gabriel, He stops me!" The Rider retorted.
Jackson threw his hands up in the air and walked back and forth, starting grass on fire. "Okay, well if you can be a hero, then maybe I can too. I've been sick of killing." He said changing back.
Charles gained control and shook his head. "H-how are you able to change while also keeping control?" He asked Jackson.
"It looks as if I have a lot to teach you." Jackson said.
A/N: Just got back from watching Dr. Strange, movie was fucking amazing! Can't wait for Logan in March. Now Charles has someone to full control the abilities of the Ghost Rider. Similar to Johnny Blaze and Carter Slade in the first Ghost Rider movie (Amazing in my opinion, despite Nicolas Cage's acting.) I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter. Tata for now!
