Chapter 5
This is it, I'm finally here! Elsa thought as she smiled over at Jack. But then the smile disappears as she saw frost form around her feet.
Conceal, don't feel, conceal, don't feel. Those were the words going through Elsa's head like a mantra. Conceal, don't feel, conceal, do- "Hey Elsa!"
Jack's voice broke into her thoughts, and she snapped back into reality to find Jack looking at her with a worried expression.
"Sorry Jack, I guess I just spaced out for a second. Where is Platform 9 and 3/4?" she asked, not seeing the number between Platforms 9 and 10.
"Elsa, the entrance is over here."
She walked over with the rest of the group as Ms. Amber gave them instructions.
"Okay Elsa, all you need to do is run right into that wall right there." Mrs. Frost said.
"O-okay," she answered a little frightened.
"All right, Emma you go first, then Jack, then Elsa, okay?"
A few minutes later, Jack and Elsa were seated in a compartment, talking about what house they might get into when a boy knocked on their compartment door.
His green eyes glanced over them as he ruffled his brunette hair nervously.
"Can I come in?" he asked uncertainly.
"Sure!" Jack replied.
Elsa didn't say anything, and after a while, two girls came in.
"Hi!" One of the girls said perkily. "I'm Rapunzel Corona, and this is Merida Dunbroch. Can we sit here, there's no more room."
They all nodded,
Merida had long, wild, fiery red hair and thoughtful blue eyes that gazed over the room, and then narrowed as she bent down to carve into a bow that Elsa hadn't noticed before.
The other girl, Rapunzel, had satiny golden blonde hair which looked to be around 70 feet long. Her large, bright green eyes danced around as she observed the companions in the compartment. She, to Elsa's surprise, was barefoot.
Merida glanced up from carving and she looked straight at Hiccup. Elsa thought she saw something, but she brushed it of. Probably just imagining it, she thought.
"Have you seen a toad? Neville's toad is missing," A girl with brown bushy hair asked, walking in.
"No, we haven't seen a toad, and I'm not sure who Neville is. I'm Rapunzel, who are you?" Rapunzel replied very chirpily.
The bushy haired girl looked taken aback, and answered, "I'm Hermione. Now, if you would excuse me, I need to help Neville find his toad." She then flounced out of the compartment.
"Well that was unexpe-" Hiccup started, when Hermione then peeked back.
"Oh, and you'll want to change into your robes now. I talked with the conductor, and he said that we'll be arriving soon," she advised as she left.
"Well . . . I don't know about you, but I'm going to the bathroom to change," Elsa declared, standing up. She took her bag and proceeded out of the compartment.
-----------------------
They finally arrived at the train station, and as Elsa got off the train, she could hear a gruff voice yelling, "Right, then. Firs' years this way, please! Come on, now! Firs' years! Don't be shy. Come on now, hurry up! Come on! Hello, Harry!" Elsa walked to the sound of the voice, and a huge man, almost half the size of a giant.
But what surprised her was that he said Harry.
As in the Harry Potter? she thought as she remembered reading about him in one of her school books.
"Right, then. This way to the boats. Come on, now. Follow me," the man shouted as the young students reached a lake. Elsa got into a boat with Merida, Rapunzel, and another girl whose name was Luna Lovegood. They rounded a corner when a majestic castle creeped into view.
They finally got to the castle, and a strict looking woman was standing at the pair of huge doors.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," she announced. "Now, in a few moments you will pass through these doors and join your classmates, but before you take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Now while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule breaking, and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup."
Then a small, abashed boy jumped up, exclaiming, "Trevor!" He caught a frog that was sitting at the lady's feet. "Oh, sorry," he muttered, stepping back into the crowd.
The lady composed herself once more and announced, "The Sorting Ceremony will begin momentarily," and left.
"It's true then, what they were saying on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts," a blonde boy declared with a sly smirk. Elsa noticed that the statement had stirred up the other students.
"Harry Potter?"
"Yeah, that's Harry Potter!"
Hushed whispers traveled through the crowd.
Ice started to form under her feet, and she gave a desperate attempt to cover it up.
The blonde boy continued. "This is Crabbe, and Goyle. And I'm Malfoy. Draco Malfoy." Elsa then heard a red headed boy standing next to Harry snicker.
"Think my name's funny, do you? No need to ask you yours. Freckles, red hair, and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley. You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others, Potter." The ice started to spread and a student slipped.
"You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there," Draco finished, smirking.
Harry then replied very strongly, "I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks." The lady then came back saying, "We're ready for you now."
