"You leave for your mission at 3:15 pm today. Your bag is already packed with food, water, clothes, and medical supplies. You will take your hover machine, it'll lead you to the border, but after that the GPS and holocalls will stop working due to the lack of internet. Also, there is a guard that will be sent out with you to protect you. It is programmed to fight and attack any threats, so you will be safe." Siri Conclusive explains.

62 Minutes Until Mission...
Mission: a task or job that someone is given to do
Guard: Error, undefined
Fight: Error, undefined
Attack: Error, undefined
61 Minutes Until Mission...
I had never heard of these words before, I wasn't even sure they were real words... What did it mean to attack or to fight? What was a guard? How come they didn't show up when I thought of them?
"What is a guard, what does it mean to fight and attack?"
It was silent for 1.23 seconds. Siri Conclusive showed a symbol of a flashing Loading sign.
60 Minutes Until Mission...
I blocked out the countdown, it was distracting me from Siri Conclusive.
Loading... 10%... 20%... 30%... 80%... 99%... Loading Complete.
"A guard is someone who protects you. Now this guard does not need Wifi to work. To attack is to hurt someone on purpose. I cannot explain fight to you, there is no definition of fight that you would understand."
Attack: to hurt someone on purpose
Attack has been saved to your memory file.
I questioned why anyone would want to harm another person on purpose... What would make someone do such a horrible thing?
No definition that I can understand... Does that mean that fight is a made up word? No, fight is a real word, but how can it be a word if there's no definition for it that I would understand? That makes no sense...
"Do you have any more questions about the quest?" Siri Conclusive asked, breaking my thoughts.
I squirmed a little on my bed. "How will you know when I have the Viruses? How will you find me once I complete my mission?"
Siri Conclusive's screen split into a map of the New World with 1,500 people-the same amount of people the new world always has. Another part of the screen flashed with different people, who my brain kept identifying, whenever someone popped up on screen, I saw their profile page in my mind and could identify their name, job, and personality. My brain automatically counted the number of people I saw, until in 10 minutes and 15.8 seconds, I saw every person in the new world, and the screen split into 1,500 people. I saw me, sitting on the bed, staring at the screen. It was strange, seeing myself. Something I wasn't used to, but I knew I would get used to it eventually.
45 Minutes Until Mission... 44 Minutes Until Mission... 43 Minutes Until Mission...
"Because of the internet, the Conservator can keep track of everyone in the New World, to make sure they're safe and not missing. Once you get to the border, you will be connected back to the internet, and we will be able to see where you are." Siri Conclusive explained.
I was amazed by all of this. I could see everyone, all 1,500 people in the New World, and so could Siri Conclusive and the Conservator. Everyone always knew that they were being protected and watched, it was common knowledge, but sometimes we just didn't think about it, sometimes it would slip from our minds as we became distracted by other more important things.
"How many Viruses were stolen?"
"Only 15 out of the 150." Siri Conclusive explained.
150 people who's brains don't correspond with the chip... 150 people who don't know things... 150 people who aren't like us...
"Is that all?" Siri Conclusive asked me.
"Yes," I answered, and I focused on the countdown. Siri Conclusive and the screen went dark.
39 Minutes Until Mission... 38 Minutes Until Mission... 37 Minutes Until Mission... 36 Minutes Until Mission...

20 Minutes Until Mission...
"Please follow the foot pads to the exit, you must get ready to leave for your mission." Siri Conclusive's voice rang. The closet opened and a hanger holding the backpack full of supplies was held out to me. I grabbed it, and I followed the glowing footpads out the door. I walked into the elevator and pressed the down button. As I sped down, I counted all the emotions I was feeling:
-Nervousness
-Anxiousness
-Excitement
-Worry
I am feeling 4 emotions total.
The doors opened, and I walked down the white halls to a big set of doors, which opened and I followed the foot pads inside the room, the doors closed behind me. The lights flickered on, illuminating the room. To the right of me was a large, gray, shiny metal robot.
The guard.
I stared at the guard, it had no face, just a smooth mask instead. It stood stiffly beside me, it was taller than I was, and in it's hand it held an object I had never identified before. It was like a mini laser pointer, but with a trigger. I stared at it, trying to identify it.
Object not identified.
The robot then turned to me, taking a smooth turn. Its unidentified object was at its side.
"Hello, Laila, I am the guard that is to be sent out with you on your mission to retrieve the 15 stolen Viruses. I am here to serve and protect, to keep you safe from harm." The robot said in a deep human like voice.
"What is that object you are holding? It is not identified." I asked, staring at the robots screen face.
The guard held up the object, and pointed to it.
"This object? This is a gun, it throws small bullets at danger and stops it." the guard explained, and pulled the back of the gun. Small little metal things fell out into the robot's hand.
"These are bullets, they are what is being thrown at the danger. I shall show you what a gun does."
The robot put the bullets back into the gun, pointed the gun at the wall, and pulled the trigger. I watched as the bullets flew out of the whole in the front and hit the wall, and then bounced off it.
"These walls are bullet proof, meaning that the bullets cannot damage the walls." the guard explained.
My mouth dropped. Never before had I ever heard of anything that did that. I saved the words Bullet, Gun and bullet proof, along with the definitions.
Save complete.
"Are you ready to go Laila?" The Conservator's voice rang, instead of Siri Conclusive's.
"Yes, Ma'am," I answered.
"Alright then, the doors will open."
The doors at the other end of the room opened, letting in the bright sun. I walked outside, the robot ride beside me, and noticed the hover machine. I jumped on and turned it on. I turned to the guard.
"How will you get to the border?" I asked it.
The robot folded itself up into it's helmet, and I placed it in my backpack. And then, I entered the GPS coordinates to the border, and started to ride.

((Hello readers, glad to see you're still reading my work!
I re read chapter 1 and the prologue, man those were good, and when I read everything after that I just cringe because it all goes downward from there. Idk how to improve my writing for this, something about it just... bores me. So, if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve my skills, please tell me that would be great.
Also, I'm thinking of switching POVs to another character in a future chapter, one of the Viruses, would that be something you guys would like or would you like me to stick with Laila?
Question #8: How would you feel if you couldn't identify certain objects or certain words? What would you think about learning words and objects that no one else knew about? Why do you think those words and objects are unidentified and unknown?
