I sat on a branch of a tree watching as two dragonets played on the pavilion. Raindew had Darkshadow pinned down and looked at her brother with a smug smile on her face as he struggled to get up. They were now two months old and liked to play with each other.

"Raindew don't hurt your brother." I warned her.

"I won't Mom." She replied, taking her eyes off of Darkshadow. Seeing his opportunity he quickly threw his sister off of him. Returning her attention to her brother Raindew set off after him. I watched with a smile on my face as they chased each other around.

Two silver stars went flying through the air. Time seemed to slow down as I watched them, helpless, flying towards my children. I saw the look of horror on their faces. Time sped up again and they both went flying into Darkshadow. Immediately Raindew ran over to her brother.

"Mom!" She screamed, but I was already flying towards them.

Hearing her cry for help one of my guards, Heliconia, came rushing out of the hut. She ran over to us, and seeing Darkshadow she asked "What do you want me to do Queen Glory?"

"Tell Deathbringer to met us at the healer's hut." I told her, keeping my voice calm even though on the inside I was panicking. She nodded and flew off.

I turned my attention back to my children. Carefully I picked up Darkshadow and flew off towards the healer's hut. With Raindew following me we made it to the healer's hut quickly. I rushed inside and was quickly surrounded by three healers.

Five minutes later Deathbringer came racing in. He joined us by Darkshadow's bed and looked at Darkshadow sadly. "What happened?" He asked not taking his eyes off of his son.

"An assassination attempt." I said. I quickly explained what happened to him and the healers.

Raindew walked over to me crying. Realizing how upset she was I put my wing around her. "Is he going to be okay?" She asked, voicing the question that we were all wondering.

"I don't know sweetie." I replied, feeling tears falling down my cheeks. For once I didn't care that I was crying because to me there were more important things.

That night after Raindew was asleep I turned to Deathbringer and asked "Who could have done this?"

"I'm not sure." Deathbringer replied. "Whoever it was they clearly don't like us." Shooting Deathbringer a glare I went back to thinking.

"Based on what you said it was probably a Nightwing." Deathbringer said after a little while.

"We need to find them before they do anything else." I stated. Deathbringer nodded in agreement.

Worried I lay down to sleep. Eventually sleep finally overtook me and very slowly I closed my eyes.
