Chapter Thirteen:

Goal:

The walk back to houses was silent; but not quite deadly. It was almost peaceful. We both seemed lost in our own thoughts. Neither of us knowing what the other was thinking. I was mortified with what had happened. Honey hadn't bothered me for so long that I forgot what it was like. I forgot how evil she could be and how easily she could get under your skin.

"I'm coming up with you." Elliot stated as we reached houses and I simply nodded. There was no point arguing; I wouldn't win. He walked me up the stairs until we reached my door. I stood with my back to it as I faced him. He stared down at me with an intrigued expression on his face and smiled. "You are allowed to cry you know." He muttered and I nodded. He took a step forward and in turn I took one back, my back hitting my door. He took one more forward and rested his arm above my head. Our bodies were practically touching, and he looked down at me. He didn't tower over me as much as normal due to my high heels, but he still had to look down.

"I don't want to." I said and he chuckled.

"You intrigue me so much do you know that?" He asked. His eyes were intense as they bore into mine. The hand that was on his side came up and gently ran down my cheek. I gulped. I almost felt faint again with how close he was. I still couldn't believe the jealousy I felt, and I didn't think I would ever get over it. Did I like him? I barely knew him, really. Was I interested? Definitely. He was gorgeous, funny, down to earth and deep. He was kind, smart and family orientated. He was perfect.

I shrugged and looked up at him through my lashes. He swallowed before he bent his head so that his forehead was against mine. His eyes shut and his breath fanned against my face.

"You need to stand up for yourself. You are more than they will ever be. You need to start believing that." He whispered, the entire time his eyes were shut but when I didn't answer he opened them. The deep blue colour they had turned made me feel sick with nerves. My eyes travelled down to his lips and I swear my heart skipped a beat when he focused on mine. Did I want him to kiss me? Of course. I would be fooling no one if I said no. "You don't believe it though, do you?" He asked, and when I didn't say anything he sighed and pulled away, leaving me breathless from nerves and excitement.

"Do you want to come in?" I asked and he nodded. I found my key and let us in, Elliot headed straight for my bed. I hovered awkwardly before I took a seat at my dressing table. "When's this dinner you were talking about?" I asked. I still hadn't found out and I needed an outfit to wear. I didn't really want to go – but it was an excuse to see Elliot. And I was rather honoured he wanted me to attend.

"Next week. Have you got an outfit?" He asked and I shook my head. "It's at that big fancy hall place in the south. We have to make our own way there." He explained and I nodded.

"We get to leave campus?" I asked and he nodded.

"We get the weekend off. Most people will be staying at the hotel round the corner." He mentioned and I nodded.

"Are you?" I asked him and he shook his head.

"My house is just round the corner so I'll just stay at home." He explained, looking down at his feet and I nodded.

"That's fair enough. My house is the out of town, so I'll probably have to come back here." I said and Elliot looked up at me.

"We have a spare bedroom, if you don't want to come back here. It's quite a journey from here. Mum and Dad won't mind." He offered and I froze.

"I wouldn't want to be a pain." I muttered and he rolled his eyes and laid down onto my pillows.

"Shut up. You don't have to stay the whole weekend, just that night as the dinner won't finish until late in the evening, the cab fare will be insane." He explained and I nodded.

"Thank you. I'll see." I said and he nodded. We fell into silence before he sat up suddenly.

"What are your options to wear then? I need to know what colour you're going." He said and I shrugged.

"Why?"

"So that I can buy a tie to match." He said matter-of-factly. I rolled my eyes and he chuckled. "It's just tradition." He explained and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, yeah." I muttered sarcastically before I laughed. I stood up and headed to my wardrobe, opening the doors and stepping back. "Take reign." I said and looked over at Elliot. He looked up at me like I had two heads before he shook his head.

"You're going to regret that." He muttered and stood up. We switched places so that I was sat on the bed and about 5 minutes later he had picked out a dress. It was midi length, nude coloured with a square neck and think straps. It was figure hugging and an almost suede material. I had never worn it, I thought it was too figure hugging. "What about this?" He asked and I shrugged.

"I don't know if I like it."

"Why?" He asked, sounding shocked. "Your bu- you would look nice in this." He stuttered, cutting himself off.

"It's just a bit too figure hugging for me." I muttered and he scoffed.

"Try it on." He ordered and I shook my head. "Try it on." He demanded and threw the dress at me. I rolled my eyes and trundled over to the bathroom. I put the dress on, taking off my stained jumper and skirt, replacing it with the soft suede material. It cinched me in at the waist and gave me a classy amount of cleavage. What I didn't like about it was how highly it contrasted my small waist to my hips, and how large my bum looked in it. Once it was on, I left the bathroom and stood in the middle of the room, Elliot now back on the bed. When I walked in, he sat up and once he looked at me, he froze. His eyes travelled from the tip of my head to my shoulders, collarbones, waist, hips and feet. I did a quick twirl and he gulped audibly. "I like it." He muttered, his voice hoarse. He cleared his throat and nodded. "Yeah, I like it a lot. You should wear that." He said and I shrugged.

"I don't know about it."

"Why not?" He asked, his eyes were trained on my waist and hips, making me feel slightly self-conscious.

"I don't like how big my hips look in it." I muttered and put my hands on them. He frowned and looked up at me with confusion.

"Big hips are a good thing." He said and I looked down at him.

"I don't get why."

"Means you have a big arse." He stated and I choked on my spit.

"Way to be discreet about that." I laughed and he shrugged.

"No point in lying." He muttered and laid back onto his elbows, making his arms bulge. I tried my hardest not to stare and instead looked at myself in the mirror.

"Maybe with some nude heels and a big coat..." I mumbled to myself and he nodded.

"Yeah exactly." He mumbled back, his eyes still raking over my body.

"Ok, well, it's an option, so thanks." I smiled at him and he looked up at me.

"No worries."

I grabbed some sports leggings and a t-shirt and headed back to the bathroom. I peeled the dress off me and got changed. Once I was out, I hung the dress back up and sat at the end of the bed.

"Have you got any more lessons?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yeah we have sport at 3." He said and I nodded. "You?" He asked and I shook my head.

"No, but I've got some writing I could do here." I said and he nodded.

"I'm sorry about your jumper." He muttered and I laughed and shook my head.

"It's fine, honestly." I said and he smiled awkwardly. He sat up so that we were shoulder to shoulder, and he looked over to me.

"Does she bother you a lot?" He asked randomly and I took a minute or so to answer.

"She used to. Not so much anymore." I muttered and looked at my hands that were on my lap.

"Why?" He asked and I shrugged.

"Variety of reasons. Not many people like me here to be honest." I explained and he frowned.

"Why?" He asked again. "Despite your poshness you're actually alright." He joked and I giggled.

"I'm just not like them, no matter how much I try." I said and he knocked his shoulder against mine.

"That's not necessarily a bad thing." He said and I looked up at him.

"It is here." I said and he shook his head.

"Well I like you, the boys like you, Coach likes you and Bridgette likes you, and she doesn't like anyone." Elliot said and I smiled up at him.

"Thanks. I like you too." I muttered and he smiled. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into his side.

"Tell me if she bothers you again." He ordered and I nodded, even though I knew I wouldn't. It wouldn't be worth the hassle.

"Haven't you got a lesson in like 15 minutes?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yeah I best get going." He muttered and stood up. I followed him to the door and opened it for him. He stopped in the doorway and looked down at me. "I guess the next time i'll see you is the dinner?" He asked and I shrugged.

"Unless you want to see me before." I flirted. I froze after the words exited my mouth and silently cursed myself in my head. Even Elliot looked shocked at my confidence. What was I thinking?

"Maybe I do." He smirked and I tried to act like I hadn't embarrassed myself. I rolled my eyes and he smiled at me.

"I'll see you later then." I smiled and he nodded.

"Yeah, see you later."
