Chapter 11

Mabel ran down the street, ignoring the rain that was beginning to fall. The more she thought about what she did, the more tears filled her eyes. She stopped running and began to cry.
"What have I done?" she said.

"Are you saying that all this is your fault?" a familiar voice said. Mabel turned and saw Pacifica across the street, opening an umbrella. "Because, if this is your fault, you need to fix this, now!"

Mabel ran across the street to Pacifica. "It is my fault, and I'm really really sorry about it too." she said as she wiped her tears.

Pacifia realized that Mabel wasn't lying. That she really was sorry for everything. Suprisingly, Pacifica began to show empathy for Mabel. She put a hand on Mabel's shoulder. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I wasn't going to date Dipper anyway. For numerous reasons. I mean, for one, he's related to you." she said with a playful nudge.

Mabel chuckled a little bit. "Well, that's good I guess. But anyway, I do know how to fix it, I just need to get a tear drop from you."

"What? You want me to cry?"

"Need, not want."

"Why?"

"To fix everything! And if you don't help me, Dipper's going to love you no matter what, forever!"

"As in, forever forever?!" Pacifica said with worry in her voice.

"Exactly."

Pacifica thought for a bit, then let out a sigh. "Fine. I'll help you. But I don't know how you"re going to be able to keep a tear drop."

Mabel whipped out a little vial, that she found in Soos' room from her sweater. "Will this work?" Pacifica roller her eyes.

"Alrighty, time to cry." Pacifica said. "Uhmm, thinking sad thoughts. Uhmm, dead puppy, not being rich," the tears started to form, "Not being beautiful, not being a fashionista," her words became choked up with tears.

"Come on!" Mabel said. She unscrewed the cork from the vial and held it close to Pacifica's cheek.

"Not having a limo, no servants, no body guards, loosing to you, and having to date Dipper!" She said as she began to cry.

Tears fell down her face and Mabel caught a few in the vial.

"Got em! You can stop crying now." she said.

"No I can't!" Pacifica said. "Now my makeup's ruined!" she said as she ran down the street, finally being able to go home after a very confusing day.

Mabel headed back to the alley way, where she found the girls leaning against, from her point of view, the right wall and Dipper, with his head hung low, sitting against the left wall from them. His hat covered his face, but Mabel could still see the tear stains on his cheek.

Mabel motioned for the girls to stay quiet. They nodded in understanding.

Mabel sat down next to her twin. "Hi." she said.

Dipper turned his head away from her, revealing a bright red cheek. "What do you want?" he said in a very depressing tone.

"I have what we need to reverse the curse. We can get you back to normal now." she said.

Dipper sighed. "But I love Pacifica." he said.

"No you don't" Mabel said back.

Dipper looked at his sister, "You're just in our way is all."

"Dipper, listen to me. She doesn't like you and you don't like her. It's all an illusion! You're under a spell remember?"

Dipper stood up, his voice now loud enough for Candy and Grenda to hear. "I have to go see her!"

Mabel stood up too. "Candy, Grenda, please give us a moment." she said while still holding eye contact with Dipper.

"Sure. No prob." Grenda said.

"We'll see you two back at the Shack?" Candy asked.

"See you then." Mabel said.

The girls left the alley way. Dipper and Mabel still glaring at each other.

"I need to see her now."

"No. You need to see Madam Margie."

Dipper shoved Mabel, "No!"

Mabel stepped back a bit from the shove. She looked surprised, but backed up even more. She began running towards her brother with arms in front of her yelled, "OPEN UP MADAM MARGIE!" and shoved Dipper so hard that he fell through the back wall and into Madam Margie's lair.

Mabel stepped in next.

Madam Margie was sitting on the couch reading something and was surprised at the sudden visit. "Oh my! Hello children. What seems to be the prob-"

"You need to fix my brother, now!" Mabel demanded.

Madam Margie stood up and walked towards the twins. "Do you have the ingredients?"

Mabel took the supplies out of her sweater and handed them to the witch. "Here. Gnome hair, a guitar string, and a tear from his ex-girlfriend." she said while making quotes around the word 'girlfriend'.

Madam Margie smiled and headed over to the round table, the Reverse the Curse book still open to the Love is Blind page. She picked up the book, and then walked over to a tiny black cauldron on a different table.

She looked at the book and began reciting. The cauldron began bubbling and sizzling with a black liquid. One by one, she added an ingredient, then said some more words from the book. She called out to Dipper, who had managed to stand up. "Dipper, are you sure you want to stop the spell? Once you drink this potion, you won't ever be able to ask for my assistance again."

"Why not?" Mabel asked.

"Because darling, once a spell is reversed, it proves that the customer doesn't have what it takes to handle a witch's magic." she let out a cackle. "So Dipper, what is your choice?"

Dipper thought for a little. He knew he loved Pacifica! He knew it, but then again, being the smart kid he was, he also knew he loved his sister. He looked at her and she looked back. Her facial expression looked concerned and sad. He walked towards her and smiled. "Yes. I'll do it."

Mabel smiled and hugged her brother. He hugged back.

Madam Margie had finished the potion and scooped it up in a vial and handed it to Dipper.

"Well, bottoms up!" he toasted. He drank the black liquid.

"How do you feel?" Mabel asked.

"Dipper falls down now." was his reply. He then did as he said he would and fell to the ground. His eyes did the same thing they did the first time; turned all black, but much quicker. By the time Mabel ran to him, his eyes had readjusted to their normal brown irises.

He sat up and held his head. He looked as if he had just woken up from a nap. "Woh. Did I really just do all that?" he asked.

"You mean, fall in love with Pacifica, kiss her, and get me so enraged that I hit you?" Mabel said. She put a hand to his red cheek. "I am really, really sorry about hitting you. I don't know what came over me."

Dipper placed his hand over hers. "It's okay. I think I deserved a slap in the face."

Both twins laughed and stood up. Madam Margie had begun to clean up.

"I do just have a few questions." Mabel said.

Margie stopped cleaning and looked at her. "Hm?"

"You said that he'd find his true love. So, why Pacifica? I think we all know that she's definitely not Dipper's true love."

"Ah, see, that's where you're wrong. I never said 'true love'! I just said 'love'. And I also said that 'it's unclear exactly who this might be or how long it will take them to love you in return, or even if they love you at all.' I never once said anything about true love."

The twins became wide-eyed. "Those, those are your exact words!" Dipper pointed out.

"Witches have very keen memories my darling."

Dipper cocked his head, "Then why Pacifica? Was this all a trick?!"

The witch looked surprised. "Of-of course not child! Why on earth would you think a witch would trick you?" she laughed very suspiciously.

"You're hiding something." Dipper accused.

"I- it's not- I just..." the witch stuttered.

"Spill!" he demanded.

"Alright alright fine!" Madam Margie said. "One day, I was walking the streets and, well, witches don't make much, or any money at all really, so, I headed up to the Northwest mansion to ask for a bit of money. But of course, they denied me. And well, me being a hungry and lonely witch, I told them that, due to their lack of courtesy, their oldest will be cursed! That was a lie of course. Just something to scare them. And when you, Dipper, came along, I thought that I could use you to bring a bit of despair to Pacifica. I just didn't know that you would reverse the curse and ruin my plans. You two are not like the others here in Gravity Falls. You two," she lost her accent "You two will be able to do things you would've never thought possible."

The twins looked at each other and back where the witch was standing, but she had vanished.

"Hello?" Mabel called to the now empty room.

They both looked around the room before they were startled by a very loud voice telling them to "GET OUT!"

Frightened, they both ran to the back wall, went through, and ended back in the alley.

A strange noise came from behind them, and looking at the back brick wall they had just exited, the wall began to shake, as if it was going to fall.

Dipper grabbed Mabel's arm and led her out into the street with him. Thankfully, the rain had stopped and the sun was starting to come out. However, the wall never fell, it just vanished, leaving an open space.

"Well, this day couldn't have been any weirder." Dipper said.

"You said it brother."

They walked all the way back home to the Mystery Shack, hand-in-hand.
