6. Maybe Not
There's an easy way for me to get out of this situation. "Invisitech," I cringed at how loud my whisper was. But I was invisible, it'd be okay. I carefully walked to the staircase, and went one by one, the quietest I knew how.
"Grayson?" damn it!
The best thing I could do was to just respond-- truthfully. I sighed, hoping he wouldn't come to the staircase and be met with his invisible son. "Yeah, dad. It's me."
I glanced at the living room. No one else was there so he was probably on the phone. He would've been looking right at me. He nodded. I kept on going upstairs.
Still, I wasn't the best at taking this suit off. But I remember from last time my hand grazing over a bu- wait! It was probably the same one I'd pressed at the lab when I was able to go invisible. I pressed it and smiled, glad it had worked.
I threw on a bigger t shirt and shorts. I went over to my mirror and took a look. That's a nasty bruise, The bullet was probably really close to getting into my skin. I sighed. Maybe I shouldn't be doing this after all. It was never mine in the first place and the guilt I'm feeling from stealing from my dad is probably my mind's way of telling me that it's true. The way I felt today was incredible, flying and beating up bad guys is only something I would've been able to dream about! Something only the Avengers and Justice League from the movies could do. But now I had this suit in my own hands... but it isn't mine. Hell, I stole it from my dad's lab and he could really get into big trouble for this. I made up my mind. Sunday morning I'd return the suit.

Sunday
I was still a bit sore even though I'd gotten shot at a couple days ago. But I guess things like that have long-term affect. I wouldn't know-- wouldn't have known.
Today was the day I was to part with Techsuit. Was it selfish of me to put it back for fear of hurting myself and not think about the people I wouldn't be able to help if I'd had it? Yeah, probably. But I have to think about my dad and not just myself. Well bringing up my dad makes me remember my mom. Stealing from my father wouldn't make her happy or proud with me. She left when I got arrested for stealing that chain and she probably thought she was a bad influence on me, even though she's my mother. I'm still sad about it to this day, but really, who wouldn't be?
I got ready for the day, kind of pissed about not being able to enjoy the rest of the weekend since I'd be sneaking into my dad's lab, trying to avoid security and cameras all together. But that just proves why I shouldn't have taken it in the first place.
I stuffed it into by backpack and slid down the stair railing. "Hey, Grayson, Shannon is here to talk to you!"
I widened my eyes and followed my dad's voice into the kitchen. "Oh. Hey, Shan."
But the way Shannon was asking was kind of putting me off a little bit. He looked like he was trying to force a normal acting behavior but he wasn't being normal about anything. If this was Connor, I'd probably stay. But I did have other things to do right now.
"Uh, maybe later Shannon. I'll be back soon." I saw the annoyed look on his face.
"Okay, Grayson. See you."
I nodded quickly and picked my bag up again, running out the front door, but hearing some chatter from my dad and Shannon.

I walked awkwardly down a street in the bad part of Gradian City, I couldn't help but keep looking behind me. My guilt was overtaking me! I'm extremely paranoid, as well.
I heard shuffling behind me, so I took a few steps back and was now looking into a dark alley. I rose an eyebrow as I took some cautious steps into the alley. I hid behind a dumpster, barely able to see what was going on. However, other senses are heightened when one is down...
"Hey, you stop helping her and we'll let you have a piece," one guy chuckled. What the hell?
"Help, let me go!" That was a girl's voice.
Shoot. I know I shouldn't do this. I unzipped my bag and took out the suit. Was I really to try my best to put on this skin tight, yet bulky suit in this alleyway? Yeah... I put the suit on and stretched in place, but I knew I couldn't wait any longer. The girl screamed another 'help!'.
"Invisitech." I walked closer to them, I saw a young man getting beat up by two guys and another two guys cornering a red head girl. I shook my head and went to the guys around the girl first.
"You're not gonna like this," I laughed. One of the guys looked at the other but he didn't seem to hear it. Perfect. I pushed the confused guy's face into the side of the other's. He collapsed and I couldn't help but laugh quietly.
"Kenny?" I went up to that other guy and kicked his stomach. "What the fuck?!" I punched his chest and he went flying into the ground, rolling backwards.
This thing really does bring strength. I disengaged invisibility and went cautiously to the clearly traumatized girl, holding my hands up. "It's okay." I assured.
She looked mischievously at her hand and raised an eyebrow. So yes, that was kind of unsettling. "Thanks." And when she walked off I saw a wallet in her hands and a purse in the other. The wallet probably wasn't hers. I didn't waste time facepalming or shaking my head since someone was literally getting... jumped? is the word.
"Hey!" The man on the floor was wailing and holding his stomach as the fighters looked up at me. One of them with pure horror on their face ran away yelling 'it's the guy! Run! It's the guy!' Which did give me a bit of confidence that I did or did not need.
The other guy looked really pissed, and not just 'cause I was standing in front of him. "Sorry about your friend." I fauxed sympathy. That was until, yet another, gun was pointed at me. Only this time at my head. "Oh come on, really? You guys are really dumb using those things all the time. Invisitech." I took the gun from his hand and tossed it aside.
"Disengage," I murmured. I looked at the guy and he was very annoyed. Hand to hand combat comes next, I assume. He threw a punch at me, which I dunked under. Still recovering from the blow he tried to land o me, I went behind him and used my shoulders to knock him down. He tuck and rolled and got back up to his feet and the next thing I knew he was doing a half-moon kick and I was laid on the ground.
And then he's on top of me, arching his back and getting ready to strike. I didn't move at all, but I turned my head to the side, his fist crashing into the ground. He got off of me and wailed, most likely with a broken hand. I jumped up and kicked the guy one time. I felt bad for doing this to him but the suit must be getting to my head or something. This time he decided not to get back up, which is good because I'm tired and I didn't feel like hurting anyone else.
I bent down to the other guy. "Are you ok?" He coughed but didn't answer. "Can you hear me? Blink twice if you can." He blinked once. Twice. "I'm gonna help you up and take you to the hospital..."
-
What happened today proves that I really can not give up this suit. If I do what will happen? It'll just be laying dormant back in the top floor of my dad's lab with nobody using it to help people. Like I am.
I went to the top floor exit of the hospital and was on the roof. Let's see if the suit could save me if I commanded Levitech from a high point.
I stood at the edge of the roof, deja vu creeping in. I pressed down on the side of the building with one boot and pushed myself forward.
Was this a good idea? Jesus Christ why am I doing this again? "Levitech! Levitech!" I screamed. And there I was, face to face with the ground about to die. I breathed out even though my heart was already beating rapidly.
This was enough testing for the day, so I started to walk home.
The day didn't go as planned since I still have the Techsuit folded into my backpack and I could still hear it humming.
-
When I was home I ran up to my bedroom and switched the tv on. It was on TeenNick and Drake & Josh was playing. I quickly got to the News Channel. I wasn't planning to do anything else today since it was already 4PM and I was really tired but I thought I could write down if any recent crimes had happened and I would address them tomorrow.
"Shawn Levi confirmed that this is the piece of technology stolen from Levi Labs. We'll play the video that has gone viral of the stolen suit being used for good." I glanced at my backpack with wide eyes. Someone was recording me?! I looked back at the tv screen. The video was playing of me in Techsuit fighting. "And we will replay the other part," Monica Myers announced over the video. I held my face in my hands and watched the video of me being invisible and one of the beaters falling under each invisible punch. I shook my head and listened again to Monica Myers talking. "We believe this is the same person who stopped the armed robbery of Levi Labs just a few days ago. We don't believe that he was trying to steal any more from Levi Labs, however. We might just have our own Iron Man-" I shut the tv off.
Now I really couldn't give up. Gradient knows of Techsuit's existence now and I couldn't take away hope from them.
