Six months earlier.

Some people say that being wealthy will fulfil all happiness. That being rich is the best thing ever. But let me tell you first handedly, it's not. I'd give anything to just live a normal life where your parents go to work and come home for dinner. Where everything is not all about money. Where I could go to school without being judged and seen as the 'rich kid.' But I guess I don't have I choise, do I?

I walk down the spiral stairs that lead to the massive lounge room. There sat my father reading the daily newspaper, all posh and fancy. Just like I remember him. Formal. Impatient. 

'Your late.' 

Good morning to you too, dad.

'Happy birthday for yesterday, Rose,' he continues without waiting for my reply. 
I sit down on the couch opposite him. We have things to discuss. 

'I am-' I start. 

'Yes, you are eighteen now and yes, you are legally an adult'

'So am I-'

'Yes, you are now free and no longer under my rules,'

'Can I stil-'

'Yes, you can stay living here but only under one condition,' he says looking up at me.
Oh no. Not good. Him and his conditions. Let's just hope this is one I can cope with. 

'Father please-'

'Rose, you are to have one guard that will stay with you for the time being. Just one guard. I want to keep you safe. You know that.'

One guard. I'll survive......hopefully.
