Eliza was standing alone in the middle of the ballroom even though all the guys were practically tripping over themselves to get to her and her two sisters Angelica and Peggy. Angelica seemed to love the attention of all her "admirers" and Peggy liked talking to everyone. Eliza though felt a bit out of place with everything that was going on.

Eliza adjusted her blue dress,and glanced around the room,bored. Eliza was just starting to wish that she wasn't there until a group of guys walked in. She glanced at them,and one of them caught her eye. She hadn't noticed that Angelica was now standing in the right of me. "Wow..."The middle Schuyler Sister accidentally muttered out loud when she glanced at one of the guys. Angelica uttered a single laugh,and smiled at me. "Yo,this one's mine."Eliza whispered into her older sisters ear as soon as she realized she had also been glancing at the guys. Peggy came over and joined the two girls a few moments later. Angelica mumbled something under her breath that neither Peggy nor Eliza understood. Peggy glanced at her sister and mouthed 'What is she doing?'. Eliza was about to mouth 'What do you mean?' but then I saw Angelica cross the room and go over to the guy. I got nervous thinking "What's she gonna do?" Peggy could clearly sense her nervousness and shrugged,"It'll be good Eliza." Eliza nodded,and tilted my head to look at Angelica who was talking with the guy.

After a while Angelica grabbed Eliza by the arm,and toke her over to the guy. "I'm so done. I'm done. I'm done. I'm done."She told myself in her head,over and over again. Eliza was nervous. The guy stared at herfor a few moments. Angelica nudged Eliza and she looked back at him. "Elizabeth Schuyler,a pleasure to meet you."She stated."Schuyler?"the guy, I mean,Alexander which is what he introduced himself as questioned. "My sister."Angelica replied,from the side of Eliza.Alexander stared at her happily,and she smiled. He smiled back.

Angelica went away after a while,and Alexander held put his hand for me and Elizatoke it. We danced together for a while then we exited the ballroom and went outside to get some air and talk. He toke my hand once again as we walked outside. As soon as we got out there,the wind hit us. "You alright,Elizabeth?"Alexander asked,seeing me shiver for a second. "I'm alright and you can call me Eliza if you'd like."She replied. He nodded,"Of course Eliza." She smiled after he said that. It was silent for a while as we walked around,hand in hand. "Thank you for all your service."Eliza told him and he smiled. "If it takes fighting a war for us to meet,then it will have been worth it."Alexander simply replied,opening the door as we went back inside. I blushed slightly at his comment and that made him laugh.

"I hope I see you again..."

A/N:Alright so that was my first one-shot of the book. I was trying to think of ideas and I kept listening to A Winter's Ball and Helpless a lot today so I decided to do the first one-shot on the beginning of Hamliza.
