Never Enough
Y/N's POV.
"Y/N, baby c'mon, let's just go to sleep." Harry pouts and tries to pull me.
"No Harry, how can I let that just go?" I snap.
"It wasn't that big of a deal, babe, I just forgot I had a dinner with your parents." He shrugs innocently.
"Mhm, just forgot? I left post it notes all over your flat and like ten alarms on your phone, not to mention that I put my parents house address in your gps system."
"Okay, fine, I just merely slipped out of the dinner. I didn't go because..." He shifts his gaze and stops pulling me.
"Because? Is it because mums stir fry is the worst? I know it is Harry, it's disgusting but-"
"No, Y/N. Not that." He sighs and sits in the counter. His face falls and his lips pout.
"Then?" I lift his chin so he looks at me.
"Your dad had a talk with me the last time they were over. He said pretty sick things and I don't want to repeat them-"
"What did he say?" I ask knowing my father can be a bit hard at times, mostly with my poor Harry.
"He said that I was only a boy, and that you needed a man. He said that being in a boy band wasn't enough for his daughter and that sooner or later he would talk you out of the rebellious faze he declares you're in." He says lowly and ashamed.
I can't believe he would say that to Harry, my father knowing how unsure Harry is about himself.
"Harry, you didn't believe that did you?" He snaps his eyes to me and licks his lips.
"Kind of. I mean, look at you, Y/N! You're the daughter of this big and important business man, you need someone like that in your life, someone that can assure a future with you and someone who isn't away from home for months on end. I guess in a way I am still a boy, and I guess I may not be worthy of your love, but I try. I try to fit in the mold your dad has for the perfect man for you. No matter how many expensive a cars or jewelry I buy, it's never enough!" He groans in sadness.
That's why he's been in a vehicle rampage, not to 'add to his collection' but to prove some stupid thing to my dad.
"Baby, you didn't have to do all that, you know I love you and my dad's opinion won't interfere with that. He's just being ignorant and ambitious, don't listen to him." His cheeks blush at the word baby and he smiles a bit.
"It feels ugly that your dad doesn't like me. Your mums lovely, I like her, but your dad scares me, now I know where you got that temper from." He bops my nose.
"I'll talk with my dad, make him back off and stop saying that shit to you, and stop hitting on my mum." I laugh and he joins.
"Can we go get a bite somewhere?" He asks curiously after some time.
"My mother sent stir fry, don't want any?" I say jokingly.
"I love you and your mum, but that stir fry is evil, Y/N, I'll telling you." He speaks with a serious face and I laugh.
"Fine, Taco Bell?" I grab my keys and help Harry into his jacket.
"Taco Bell." He kisses my forehead and opens the door for me.
