I walk into the office with duke and James, the three of us walk to my office. As soon as I sit down I hear someone "oh no you are not moping at your desk we're going out!" I turn around and see Jess "Jess!" "Jess!" We hug and I point to duke "you've met duke but you haven't met James yet." I says and I point at James . "He's so cute, but he looks so much like him..." She says I nod before I hug her "can you watch James while I work?" "Ya!" "Ok James go with auntie Jess." "Ok mama." He says as he walks over to Jess.

I walk into the house after picking up James from Jess to see Adam in a panic I look at him and he says " duke ran away." I tear up I let go of James hand and I run, and run until I end up at the park. I sit down on the ground my dirty blonde hair was flying with the wind. Then the tears start coming. I hear paws running to me. I look up as Galileo runs to me and he lays down in my lap max runs up to me, "oh my gosh Jess what happened?" He asks as he sits down next to me and he hugs me. I start to crying into his shoulder. "D duke ran away!" I cry "I'm so sorry Jess!" He says before continuing "sorry to cut this short but I gotta get back home." "I it's fine." I say as I stand up and walk to the bar nearby to have some drinks me and this guy hit it off and he asked me to stay and I started singing "honey I'm good" before I leave. I was walking past Max's house when I feel lightheaded I had gotten a text from Jess earlier saying she brought James to max seeing as I wasn't home. I walk up to the door and knock but before someone opened the door I passed out.

( Max's pov)

I open the door to find a passed out Jess. I sigh and I pick her up and lay her on the couch next to James before going upstairs to cheese smiling.

(Jess's pov)

I wake up and I see max and the guy I hit it off with yelling at each other and cheese smirking next to the guy. I walk over to the shirtless max and I blush. I hug him as tear fall down my cheek I whisper "d duke got hit by a car, Adam got a call last night he is at the animal hospital right now." Max looks at me in surprise before he goes back to yelling at the guy "CHEESE WE'RE OVER! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" Cheese and the guy flinch as they walk out. I hug max tightly. He smiles at me before saying "I'm sorry I cheated on you, that's why I left,". I nod before I sob "duke is dieing!" Max nods and he brings me to his bedroom. He gets dressed then we drop James off to Jess and we go to the animal hospital to find Adam holding duke in the area they told us we would. I run to my dog with max, now I was pretty hungover so I grab the trash can and I puke. After awhile max brought me back to his house and we lay on his bed with a trash can near me and I had tears streaming the whole time.
