Prolouge
Okay so first off, this is a VERY old book. There will be things in here that dont make sense, and there will be errors. Hence why ive put //OLD// in the title. As much as i love helpful criticism, please do so in my newer books, where it has present things that need worked on. This book has a lot of errors that i know, and dont want pointed out by millions of people over and over again😂.
Lots of love,

Lance walked up the driveway of Shiro's house, eager to get on the road to their school's "Poster Fair" day. It was a day where the whole school got into groups to create a poster about a topic. No one had to, but most did it anyways. It was nice out, minus a small breeze that blew through his pastel blue scarf, and carried his thoughts into the air.
He had been thinking about what had happened before he left his house. His dad had been drunk, and still going, when Lance was just, out of the blue, punched. Lance had fallen against the wall, and his father only growled, "Where are you going, Bitch?" He said, angered. Lance hated his dad like this, but he knew there wasn't anything he could do about him.
"The school's Fair day-"
Lance felt his father's hand whack him across the cheek, and felt his breath catch in his throat. He looked at his dad, wide eyes, and felt his cheek with his hand, flinching a bit at the burning sensation it gave.
"You only speak when I allow you to!" He shouted, making Lance cower and nod rapidly. Please don't punch me again. Please. Lance thought, feeling as if the wall would just shove him forwards into his dad's hands.
"Be back by 7:00, or you are going to get more than just a slap!" He yelled, slamming the door to his bedroom. Lance thought he could see a small crack coming from the door, and breathed out the air he had been holding in, in a shaggy breath, beginning to cry as he put on his jacket, and left the room, his hand repeatedly wiping tears from his cheeks.

Lance knocked on the door, greeted by Hunk, who gave him a warm smile and welcomed him inside. Lance was determined to keep his sadness hidden. He didn't want anyone questioning him about it, and definitely didn't want them worrying about him.
"Hey Shiro! Hey pidge!" Lance shouted to the two, who were getting their coats on, and waved his hand goofily in the air. He spotted Allura in the kitchen, fumbling with a few things and what sounded like car keys, and he did moose horns to her when she turned around. He wanted to make them laugh. It was a distraction anyways.
"Hello Lance" Shiro chuckled, and Pidge only stuck out her tongue at him, jokingly, "Hey dork. Welcome to the mad house" she smirked, slapping on a hat.
Lance blinked, and gazed around the room, "Hey, wheres-?"
"I'm here" Keith panted, running through the front door, wearing his red jacket and a red beanie, the one that Lance couldn't help but admire on him. He was definitely was sweaty, most likely from running there all the way from his house.
"You all ready to go?" Allura asked, opening the front door, then holding it open with her foot as she tied her long white hair back with a hairtie, "Coran is already in the car" she motioned a thumb to the driveway, where a pretty small silver car sat.
"Yeah, but, how are we going to all fit in the car..?" Hunk asked, and nearly flew back at a flying pidge towards the door, "I call the very back!" She shouted.hunk followed quickly, not wanting a bad spot, "Shot Gun!."
They all ended up in the same spots as they normally would, Allura and Coran in the front, Shiro, hunk, and (a pouting) Pidge in the middle, and Lance and Keith in the back. Keith would never admit it, but he enjoyed being in the back with Lance.
"Let's get this show on the road!" Lance smiled, waving his fist in the air. And be back home before 7:00. He thought with a slight tremble.
"Let's start then!" Allura smiled, and began driving down the road.
Lance watched as Keith set his head in his hand, watching everything out the window, then turned to his own window and began to cry. I wish my life wasn't so bad at home.. He paused quickly as Keith looked at him, "Hey Lance, wanna play a road game?"
"Yeah!" Lance said, turning around quickly, glad he hadn't cried hard enough for his eyes to be pink.

Lance walked by Keith's side through the hallways, looking at each poster they passed by. He was fascinated at a few, but some bored him greatly, and he tried his best, half for fun, half for distraction, not to look directly at one of the boring ones.
"Keith! Look!" He pointed to a poster about weather. He loved weather, And he was complete and utter trash when it came to clouds and thunder.
"I figured you'd find one like that eventually" Keith rolled his eyes with a smile, and turned around to look at a poster about Indians. Lance sighed in boredom at that and turned the corner, pausing as a poster caught his eye, it read:
Self harm, and what it does.
