"Amelie? Are you OK?"

I turned to John. Tonight I would have to go out. But what worried me was that I probably wouldn't see John again. That hurt.

I didn't want the vampire prince, but he wanted me. That I had to remember.

"I'm - yes! Why wouldn't I be?"

"you seem... upset, maybe? Please, Amelie, if there's anything I can do to help, please let me."

"there's nothing you can do," I sighed. "because there's nothing wrong. Don't worry about me, John. I'm fine."

"OK. Just... tell me if any things wrong, OK?"

"yeah, OK."

I took off, upstairs, to cry in peace.

There was something wrong with Amelie - I could FEEL it. But if she said it was OK, it was.

I was on my way back from my swimming practice when I noticed something strange. The air felt cold, and I was alone.

"Mmm, a tasty snack." I heard a girl say. I dropped my kit and ran.

I was walking home from my job at the cafe when I heard a scream, not just ANY scream, but John's scream. I ran as fast as I could to the ally I'd heard it come from, and found his alone, losing too much blood for me to handle.

"John!" I screamed. I fed him my blood, don't know why, really, and just hugged him until he finally woke up. But his eyes weren't warm and welcoming - they were red, and full of taste for blood.
