Sneaky

As soon I exited the Slytherin house, Fred and George appeared on both sides of me.

"So did you figure out how to make it?" George asked excitedly, throwing his arm around me.

"Yeah, there are multiple ways of making it." I replied, shooting the twins a sly smile.

"How?" They inquired simultaneously.

"Well, they can be woven from the hair of a Demiguise, or by putting on a strong bedazzling hex or disillusionment charm over an ordinary travelling cloak." The twins high-five each other.

"Our best bet is trying the hex, because I don't think I want to learn weaving for this." Fred and George nodded. "Not to mention getting the hair of a Demiguise is one hell of a task."

"It's really useful having a Slytherin amongst us isn't it, George?" Fred jested, playfully hitting my shoulder.

"You know, it really is Fred." George laughed in response.

"Guys, our next trip to Hogsmeade, and I need you boys to purchase an extra large travelling cloak. I'll have to stay back to try and learn the spell so that I can go unnoticed while doing so. I'll give you the money to pay for it." I gave them a light smack on their stomachs, causing both of them to jokingly fall back and start dramatically whimpering.

Once we reached the dining hall, I plopped myself down next to Fred and George at the Gryffindor table. Professor McGonagall shot me a stern look but said nothing. She used to give us warnings about sitting at the wrong tables, but gave up around midway through our third year. Every day we've alternated between which of our house tables we sat at. Depending on our mood we either sat at Slytherin or Gryffindor, and there hasn't been a single day where we sat separately. We looked over to the golden trio, Fred and George's little brother, Ron, stuffing his face only seconds after the food appeared.

"Has your brother ever not been hungry?" I looked back to the twins, who were both grabbing sandwiches from the platter in front of them.

"Nope." Said Fred.

"Not that I know of." Shrugged George.

The week ended quickly, and the day of our first permitted visit to Hogsmeade came.

"Are you sure you want to stay back?" Fred asked, the corners of his lips slightly curling down.

"Sacrifices have to be made for the greater good of humanity. And by humanity I mean us." I snicker, putting 30 galleons into his hand. "If there's any change left, buy me some sweets, and possibly some butter beer.

"On it boss!" Fred and George do soldier salute in unison, obnoxiously clacking their heels together.

"Also, poor Harry doesn't have a permission slip to sneak into Hogsmeade, would you two give him the map?" I try my best to imitate puppy dog eyes and clasp my hands together.

"You got it!" Fred yelled, him and George rushing down the hallway and disappearing in the crowd of students.

I made my way up to my dormitory, and pulled out the book Fred and I smuggled out of the library, to begin practicing the spell, using my handkerchief as practice. I couldn't help but let my mind wander to our last moment in the hall, under that invisibility cloak. What if I didn't pull away, what if I stood there for longer? What if I had kissed him? Would he have kissed back, or would it have ruined my friendship with him? My crush on Freddie is really making me imagine things isn't it? I get embarrassed just thinking about it, and go back to practicing the spell, desperately trying to take my mind off of Fred.

After a good two hours of pointlessly waving my wad around, and it nearly lighting the handkerchief on fire multiple times, a bright flash of light beamed out of the end of my wand and hit my handkerchief, a glowing spreading through it, like a bottle of ink that got spilled over a tablecloth. Then it sunk into the fabric, the light dimmed, and the handkerchief disappeared. When I say my eyes nearly popped out of my skull, I mean it. I put my hand on where the handkerchief lie and despite seeing nothing, I felt it there. I picked it up, and saw the other side was still visible.

I excitedly dance around my dorm, before stuffing the handkerchief into my pocket. I then went down to the courtyard and anxiously waited for Fred and George to come back from Hogsmeade. It wasn't long before I heard excited student banter in the distance, and ran towards the Hogwarts gates. I see Fred and George's ginger haired heads stick out towering above the sea of other students, making them look short in comparison.

As soon as they see me they push past everyone and run over to me.

"We got the cloak!" George lifting up a medium sized paper bag.

"And I made sure to buy you butter beer, and Jelly Slugs, your favourite!" Fred said, shoving a smaller bag into my hands.

"Yeah, he wouldn't shut up about getting you something good. It was really annoying." George groaned.

"Thanks Freddie, thanks Georgie." I said, planting a quick kiss on both of their cheeks. "I need to show you both something."

I grabbed their hands and pull them towards a secluded section of the courtyard, and pull out the handkerchief.

"It doesn't look invisible to me." George says.

"Give me your hand." I motioned to George, and he hesitantly stretched it out.

I threw the visible side of the handkerchief over his hand, and it disappeared.

"Y/n, you never cease to amaze me." George gawked at the spot where his hand was.

"You are on your way to greatness!" Fred yelled as he picked me up by the waist and twirled me around.

"Just kiss already." George jokes, putting the handkerchief into his pocket, and I rolled my eyes at him.

"I reckon we can make it by next weekend." I grinned.

"Make what?" A voice behind us asks catching us by surprise, and we snapped around.

Harry, Ron and Hermione were standing behind us, wearing looks of curiosity.

"Nonya." Fred says, assuming the facial expression of utmost seriousness.

"What's that?" Harry asked, falling directly into the trap we set, making Hermione facepalm.

"Nonya business." I said high-fiving Fred and George, and we erupted in laughter.

"What do you want?" George asks, trying to regain his composure.

"We just came to say thank you for the map." Harry said, looking embarrassed at falling for such a basic word trap.

"Thank y/n, not us, she told us to give it to you." Fred said, putting his arm around my shoulder.

"Oh, thanks y/n. By the way, why weren't you at Hogsmeade?" Harry eyed me suspiciously.

"I needed to study for the charms quiz, and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to study in some peace and quiet." I smiled sweetly, sweating bullets, hoping that Harry doesn't see though my lie.

"Oh, ok, well thanks for helping me get to Hogsmeade." Harry awkwardly waved and the golden trio quickly left in the opposite direction.

"Ron totally has a thing for you." George snickered.

"Really?" I asked, letting out a giggle.

"He was totally staring at you and blushing just now!" Fred laughed.

"I really didn't notice." I snorted. "Out of all the older girls at this school he really chose me. I'm honoured." I bowed.

"I don't blame him." Fred shrugged, and I felt my eyebrows darting up.

Noticing my surprised facial expression, Fred instantly realised what he just said, and George started wheezing with laughter.

"Uh, I mean, you're one of the smartest girls in our grade, and you're relatively pretty, I mean pretty, I mean..." For once Fred was at a loss for words, and I started laughing as well.

We managed to complete invisibility cloak the very next weekend, opting out of going to Hogsmeade. They snuck me into the Gryffindor boys dormitory. There I spent the next hour or so trying to cast the spell, and after what felt like ages, it finally worked. The same bright light emitted from my wand, and the cloak slowly turned invisible. Fred and George, who were lazily laying on their beds jumped up and ran up to where the now invisible cloak lay, and turned it inside out.

"We did it!" I shouted, hugging the twins.

"You did it." They said at the same time.
