"Hey" was all he said with that same smirk on his face.

"Hi" I say dryly. I didn't want to really talk to him not after the first encounter with him.

He laughs and puts his hands inside of his jean jacket pockets and sits a little closer to me.

"So can i get your name?" He asks a little unsure.

Im pretty sure he's just waiting on me to cuss him out or go off on him and I probably should but I really don't want to cause a scene.

"Danielle" was all I said.

"Well nice to meet you Danielle, I'm Nick. I do want to say though you are very beautiful." I give him a small smile.

"Thank you"

"So tell me a little more about you." He looks at me and waits as if he was about to hear my whole life story.

"Like what?" I ask. Really unsure of what it was that he wanted to know about me.

"Just anything, or never mind here I'll start out." He says with a huge smile on his face.

"I'm nineteen years old almost twenty. Umm I'm in college going for biology major right now and I'm actually from Lakewood but moved to northridge a couple of years ago." He explains. I was actually a little surprised. I didn't think someone like him would actually be smart enough to try and major in bio. Well compared to me all I did was take pre Ap bio cause it was too hard.

"So now you go." He waits expectantly.

"Well I'm seventeen, still in high school." I say. He stares at me blankly as if he was waiting for me to continue but really that was it.

He raises one eyebrow at me and I just smile.

"Well I guess I'll go again." He lets out a soft laugh and shakes his head.

"Well you know what never mind. Stay here don't move at all please I'll be back." He gets up and jogs off into the house.

I sit there a little confused and decide to once again take my phone out and scroll through the same feed and pictures I've seen a million times already tonight.

"So you ready to go?" I look up and see Nick with about three blankets in his hand.

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion and stare at him.

"Umm where exactly are we going?" I ask

"Just come with me. I promise it's no funny business going on I just thought maybe instead of telling you about myself and what I like to do I would show you." Still a little confused I get up and wrap myself around my blanket and follow him.

He led us to the guest house that Stephanie's parents had build a couple of years ago. It was a small house but still very nice.

Once we get there and go up to the balcony Nick climbs up to the roof and reaches a hand down for me which I obviously couldn't reach given to my short height.

"Look get that bin right there flip it over, step on it then hop up and I'll pull you up." He instructs me and I do as he says and finally manage to get on the roof.

"Here just give me a second." He unfolds the first blanket and spreads it out for us to sit on and then he sits down and pats the space next to him.

I sit beside him and he grabs the second blanket and puts it over us then the third Blanket he puts behind us.

"Well i like to sit on the roof top and just watch everyone doing there thing while I listen to music or sometimes even watch the stars." I stare at him blankly. I didn't even consider to think that a guy like him would be so cheesy, obviously in a good way. It was actually cute.

"Well this is very calming." I say. He nods and pulls his phone out of his pocket and starts playing music.

"So what do you like to do for fun?" He asks

"Well I usually just watch movies or something like that nothing amusing." I look at him and smile.

"Well look let's watch the people down there and look at all the guys trying to flirt with the girls here." He pointed to one specific one who we could tell was very nervous and anxious. We laughed a little and kept looking at everyone else at the party.

I started looking to see if Danny was still here and from what I could tell he wasn't. I did spot Zack and Loren by the fire though.

"So..." I start off not really knowing what to say.

"Why did you approach me like that earlier?" I ask. I was actually very curious as to why he did it.

"Well it's just my way of approaching girls." He laughs a little and then continues "usually if you're boring or don't say much they don't get interested."

"Hmmm ok." I say not really knowing what else to say.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" I ask.

"No I dont, but it doesn't matter anyways it's not like we're trying to get together or something." I furrow my eyebrows and laugh.

I hope he didn't think I was interested in him.

I was only trying to make small talk but that was it.

After sometime of watching people and laughing and joking around we decided to go back down and interact with the rest of the group.

Which to me was more like I'll just stand there and get on my phone to try and not seem awkward or lonely.

We made our way back down and walked towards the fire Nick offered to take the blankets back inside and get us some hot chocolate while I found us a place to sit.

Surprisingly the same bench that I was sitting at earlier before he approached me was empty so I made my way and sat there.

I watched as he walked outside with two white foam cups in his hands. He was actually very attractive he was wearing all black with a jean jacket over him and black converse.

My eyes met with his and i realized he noticed me checking him out. I quickly looked back down and tried to avoid eye contact with him at all costs.

"Done checking me out beautiful?" I look at him as he hands me my cup and he had one eyebrow raised at me as if he had caught me red handed.

"Don't flatter yourself, I was only making sure you wouldn't spill my hot chocolate." I say as I sip on it little by little not really wanting to burn my tastebuds off.

"Do you plan on going to coll-" he started off but was interrupted by his phone ringing.

"Hold on let me get this." He says as he gets up and walks a little distance behind me to answer his call.

I kept sipping on my hot chocolate and looked around at the people socializing in front of me and around and basically everywhere.

"Hi." I look beside me and see this guy standing there looking at me.

"Hey" i give him a slight smile.

"Do you mind if I sit?" He asks pointing to the space beside me.

"No go ahead." I say moving a little closer to the edge so he wouldn't be too close to me.

"I'm sorry I just saw you earlier and thought you were very pretty and when I finally got the courage to come talk to you, you were talking to that guy over there." He says as he looks back at Nick who was now turned around facing us but still attending his call.

His eyes narrowed at the guy sitting beside me and he didn't look too happy.

I give him a small smile and look back at the guy in front of me.

"So are you guys a thing?" He asks.

"Nope. Just met him actually." He nods and smiles at me as if I had just restored all hope in him.

"Ohh well that's good to know, so umm what's your na-"

"Hey Danielle Im back. Sorry about that, that was one of the guys I tutor he called me for some help and I just wanted to go ahead and explain it to him and get it out the way." Nick explains.

"Ohh that's fine. So you also tutor people?" I ask. This guy has really been full of surprises all night.

"Yeah well I figured I wouldn't be selfish with all my knowledge and help people who could use it." He laughs.

The guy sitting next to me clears his throat and immediately grabs Nicks attention.

"So what do you do man?" He asks Nick. His voice sounding a bit deeper than earlier.

"I study biology." Nick answers dryly.

"Ohh really?" The guy sitting beside me raises his eyebrow at Nick as if he didn't believe him.

"Yeah." I could see Nicks jaw clench. He was obviously annoyed with this guy and frankly I was too.

"I just don't see how do you have time to manage parties, biology, and tutoring. Also do you have a job?" He asks Nick. He sounded very arrogant and the fact that he was questioning somebody that he didn't even know was making it worse.

"Look dude seriously if you don't get the fuck outta my face and stop asking me these dumbass questions I'm gonna beat your face in."

I saw Nicks fist clench and the guys face had panic written all over it. At this point I'm pretty sure mine did too I did not want to be in between a fight.

"Alright man, my bad." The guy beside me got up quickly and walked off. I guess he was too embarres at this point cause he didn't even bother saying anything else. He just got up and left.

"Damn Danielle you really do attract assholes huh?" I look at Nick as he makes his way to the other side and sits beside me.

"Yep and you were the first one." I say as I let out a small laugh.

I look at him only to see that he was already staring at me. He winks at me and takes a sip from his hot chocolate.

And once again I blushed for like the tenth time tonight.
