Chapter Nineteen
Mason hurries in after him and they see Ana laid out on a bed. Theo is already by one side and Mason's goes to the other. "She had two cracked ribs, but that will be gone by the time she wakes up thanks to me. She still has to take it easy and she has many bruises that will need to heal. They gave her some drug and it was too much for her body. She'll be throwing in up for a while and she might not be all there." Magnus says sitting against a wall. Theo looks over at him.
"Thank you." He says and Magnus looks surprised, but goes back to his bored expression and shrugs.
"Wasn't much." He replies. Mason stares down at Ana and feels angry. I should have listened and stayed awake. I'm so sorry. Mason thinks grabbing her hand.
"Don't blame yourself. I thought I heard something, but didn't get up and see what it was." Theo says knowing the look on Mason's face. Mason glances up at Theo, but then looks back down at Ana.

Ana. Come on wake up. A voice says to Ana. Why? I'm comfortable? She says back getting a groan. Just open you eyes would you. The voice says again. Ana groans back, but slowly opens her eyes. She only has to blink a few times because she's in a dark room. Where am I? She wonders and looks around.
"Ana. Finally." She looks to see a women around her age say in relief.
"Who are you?" Ana asks confused. The girl's eyes widen and then she calls for Mason. Mason. I like that name. She thinks with a smile. Oh my, Ana think for me will you. A voice says to her again. Ana tries and tries, but nothing comes to mind until she sees Mason walk in.
The other girl whispers something in his ear before he walks over. "How are you feeling Ana?" He asks sitting beside her.
"Fine and you're really familiar." She says and tries to push herself up, but this makes her side hurt. She winces and Mason grabs her to help her back down. "Mason?" Ana says staring up at him.
Mason helps her sit up a little and then looks at her. "Mason." Ana feels tears run down her cheeks as she pulls him into her. "How'd you- What happened?" She says realising him.
Mason is relieved that she remembers him and moves closer to her. "You decided to do something stupid without me." He says and Ana looks down. "My wolf woke me up and we found that you weren't here and then you're scent vanished. I woke up Theo and then David woke up from our commotion. We thought that Magnus had gave you to the other pack and then he came back and hold us that they got you. He sent Theo and me to the house and we tried to get you."
"Theo and I went in after you and we began to fight against the others. We would have lost if Magnus hadn't done some weird spell and frozen everyone. I took you out of the house and Theo was following me. I gave you to him and then he gave you to Magnus. Magnus took you to this bar he new and Theo and I meet him there."
"He told us what they gave you and how badly you were hurt. We then waited for Magnus to heal which only took a full day and he brought us all back. We've only been home since last night and you've stayed asleep." He says finishing.
"Why was I handed off to Magnus?" Ana asks confused.
"I told Theo to take you way and that I'd make sure that they weren't followed. He gave you to Magnus and came back to help me."
"Why would you do that? What if-"
"Nothing happened and you needed to be safe." Mason interrupts. "Do you know who was just in here with you?" He asks and Ana thinks to who was in here.
"I don't remember another person coming in. Why?" Ana asks resting her head against the bed frame.
"You didn't recognize Grace." He says and Ana's eyes open wide.
"But I know-"
"That's good. It may have just been the drug they gave you. You probably just fought off the rest of it." Mason says putting his hand on her arm to help calm her. She nods and then remembers what happened to her mom.
"Did-did my dad make it?" She asks, but the look on his face tells Ana everything. She drops her head and Mason pulls her carefully to him. "I finally meet them and then they get killed because of me." Ana says while crying.
"Hey, it's not your fault. You tried to save them from those men. They are at rest and they don't have to be worried about their little girl. They can look down upon her." Mason says as Ana cries on his shoulder.
"I-I got to t-talk with them. They were so n-nice." Ana stutters through her words.
"I know. It's ok." Mason says holding Ana close to him.

"Yeah, she fell back to sleep." Mason says to Grace.
"She had me scared for a moment." She says looking down the hallway towards Ana.
"She'll be fine. Just lost both of her parents before she could really even meet them, she'll just need time." Mason says and Grace walks over to David. Mason leaves the couple and walks into the kitchen.
He sees Theo bent over with his head in his hands. "She's alright if you were wondering." Mason says and Theo looks up.
"Of course I was wondering." He bites back harshly.
"I didn't mean it like that." Mason says back. Theo just shakes his head. "Would you tell me why you hate me so much?" Mason says annoyed with his attitude.
"Now, is not the time to be talking to me." He says and Mason takes a breath and walks back out of the room.
He goes into the kitchen and finds David and Grace eating some ice cream. "Want some?" David says holding a spoon.
"No thanks. That's ice cream right?" Mason says making sure.
"Yeah. How's seeing again?" He asks putting his spoon down.
"It feels like this big change, but really isn't. I mean yes I can see objects and they have some color now, but I still can do everything I did before. I wish I could see every color, but this is better than no sight." He says walking to the patio window.
"What colors?"
"Reds, blues, some greens, and like one shade of yellow." Mason says not turning towards his brother.
"Normal colors for people to see when they're colorblind." David comments.
"Honey, I'ma going to go to bed." Grace says after rinsing her bowl.
"I'll be in there soon." David says and pecks her on the lips.
"Ana thinks her parents death are her fault, but she won't tell me what happened." Mason says taking the seat Grace was in.
"She watched her mother get killed and now found out her father is dead, would you really want to talk about it?" David says and Mason thinks it over.
"Yeah, I guess." He says still wishing she'd tell him.
"Like you said, give her time." David says before patting his brother on the shoulder and then making his way to his room. Mason stays in the kitchen not doing anything, just sitting there.
He doesn't notice Ana when she first walks in. "Mason?" She questions and his head pops up to hers. He stands up and walks over to her. "Magnus said I should have told you, I-I just wanted to get them and then come back. Nobody get hurt." She says holding back more tears.
"Shh, I know, but if there ever is something like this again you need to tell me. If something were to have happened to you-"
"I know. I'm sorry." She says putting her arms around his waist. They stay like this for a minute or so until Ana speaks again. "Will you play some music?" She asks looking up towards him.
He smiles and then nods. They walk to the music room and Ana takes a seat next to him, but once she sits she has to stand up and then sit back down. After that she stays seated. "What should I play?" He asks and Ana shrugs.
"Anything." She says and Mason thinks for a moment and begins to play. Ana closes her eyes and listens to the music. She hums along to a few of the songs Mason plays. He plays for a long while and then stops. Ana opens her eyes and looks at him.
"You play something." He says and gestures to the keys.
"We haven't had anymore lessons sense, like last week." Ana says and Mason laughs lightly.
"You can play. You remembered the rest." He says and Ana looks at him in like he's crazy. "Come on. How about just a cover of a song?" He says and Ana thinks it over.
"You pick." Ana says and Mason raises his eyebrow. She smiles and he says the song she hates.
"Dear Future H-"
"Ughh, really?" Ana says. She doesn't like the song at all or how the singer sounds. Mason nods and folds his arms. "Never letting you pick again." Ana says in a groan. She finds the key and then begins to play. She sings lowly to the song and sends glares at Mason occasionally. He in return smiles each time. Once she's done to swings her head over to him.
"Happy?"
"No, not really." Mason says and she rolls her eyes.
"Well then what will-" She doesn't get to finish because Mason places a kiss right on her lips. Ana brings her hands up and around his neck as he pulls her towards him. He does it slow enough that her side doesn't get hurt. Ana runs out of breath and pulls away with a smile. "Happy now?" She asks with a bright smile. He shakes his head and Ana is about to speak when he tickles her tiths. Ana lets out giggles and Mason doesn't continue much after that.
"Now I'm happy. I love your smile." He says making Ana's cheeks heat up. "And those pink cheeks." He says and Ana puts her head in is shoulder to hide. The two continue to mess around until Theo comes in.
"Kann ich spreche mit du?" He asks and Ana looks up at him confused.
"Ja, aber warum im Deutsch?" She says back in german. Mason looks at Ana confused.
"Einfach kommen." Is all he says.
"I'll be right back." Ana says and makes her way towards her brother. Mason sits there confused and continues to try and figure out what they said. She speaks another language. Mason wolf says. I guess so. Mason replies confused.
He gets curious and walks quietly towards the two in the living room. He only catches some words. "Nicht weit." He can tell they both aren't happy by the tone in their voices, but he can't make a single word out. He hears Theo says the words "Komm schon" and "Bitte" a lot.
Him and his wolf continue to listen even though they don't understand. The conversation dies down and Mason sees Ana and Theo hug. He quickly makes his way back to the room and takes a seat. "You are horrible at sneaking around." Ana says coming in. His face reddens making Ana laugh.
"You can speak another language?" He asks and Ana nods.
"English, German, which was what we were speaking, Spanish, Sign Language, and Latin." She says and Mason just stares at her.
"What was your first language after English?"'
"German."
"German?" He says confused.
"Yeah, Our first home spoke in German and taught us. I learned Spanish at another home. Sign Language and Latin were from school courses and like extracurricular school stuff." She says and takes a seat across from him.
"Say hi in each."
"Hallo. German. Hola. Spanish." She does signs and spells hello. "Sign language and Salve. Latin." She finishes and Mason continues to stare.
"Wow." Is all he says and Ana laughs.
"Vis claude os tuum, ut facias ea magnus paciscor." She says in latin. Mason raises his eyebrow and Ana begins to laugh again. "Come on it's really late, well early." She corrects herself as she looks down at her phone.
"Fine, you go to work not tomorrow, but the day after correct?" He asks getting off the bench. Ana nods her head. "So, that means it's just me, a pregnant women, and you're brother. Well this I'll just be fun." He says sarcastically.
