Chapter 17

Why Worry by Set It Off because I can

A chilling laugh echoes through the clearing, almost seeming to come from all around me.

"That's right, little wolf," a whisper echoes through the air, having a sort of buzzing quality that has me hiding behind Drake.

"How did you escape?" Quinn growls, his eyes now golden and his teeth bared.

Another laugh sounds, but this one sounds feminine.

"Oh please, Quinny, did you really think my brother would let me rot in your prison?" The same feminine voice laughs, her words sending chills down my spine.

One of the pairs of eyes tilts a bit, and fixate right on me.

"Hmm, it seems your little mate's afraid," another voices whispers, and I can swear I feel breathing down my neck.

I squeak when I feel something like a hand clamp around my neck, ice-cold and hard.

The kids start to sob, curling up further into the nook. I squeak again when I feel my body being moved forward, as if by the cold thing around my neck.

"Help!" I peep, watching as Quinn and Drake try to grab at me, but I get violently yanked forward right before they can touch me. Violet starts to sob, for she sees all the now still wolves, except for Jackson, who whimpers in pain every once in awhile.

The cold force pulls me all the way to the edge of the clearing, where the gray-eyes walks up to meet me. I yelp when I see it's Ryan. I try to struggle, but the force lift my feet off the ground slightly.

"Help!" I squeak, my small feet dangling below me.

Ryans stalks up to me, grabbing me out of the air and carrying me bridal style.

"Let her go!" Quinn roars, clenching his fists.

"Hmm, I don't think I will. Sorry," Ryan purrs, holding me closer.

Quinn growls loudly. Drake shakes his head, his face showing mass concentration on something.

"Ryan... don't take her away. She still hasn't turned eighteen. We need to know if she..." Drake begins, clenching his fist and breathing deeply between,"is a creature."

"It doesn't matter if she's a creature or not. I love her and she's mine. I will help her if she is a creature."

"Please, Ryan, before I get angry," Drake pleads.

Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, please don't make Drake mad! I internally plead, gasping when Ryan chuckles and answers me in my head.

Don't worry, my dear Sera, he wouldn't hurt you again.

Again?

Another time, darling. Another time.

No! Now!

I don't get an answer. What the heck was that?! Angered, I start to struggle in his arms, kicking my legs out.

"Let go of me, Ryan!" I protest.

"No."

"Do it or I will-"

"No."

Ryan looks down at me with his dark eyes, grinning like a psychopath. Okay, he isn't grinning like a psychopath, but he's certainly creeping me out. He leans down and presses his lips to mine, which instantly causes Quinn to explode, and me to start struggling more.

"Drake, stop holding me back! Let me tear him limb for limb!" Quinn growls loudly, almost snapping Drake's arm off.

I'm surprised that Drake easily holds off the angered Alpha-to-be. Meanwhile, Ryan continues to kiss me, making me protest, but it gets muffled by his mouth over mine.

Stop! I shout in my head. Ryan chuckles, deepening the kiss. I get so angry, that I bite down on his lip; hard. So hard, it bursts open and he pulls away, growling. I look up to see dark blood ooze out of his wound, not quite black, but not red either.

He uses one hand to balance me now, and uses his now free one to touch his busted lip. It comes back with his blood on his fingers.

"You shouldn't have done that, Sera," Ryan growls.

I whimper, terrified of him. Ryan turns to the two pairs of amber eyes.

"Astraea, Atlas, go have your fun. Meet at the usual place," Ryan casually says, causing the eyes to glint.

"Of course," the feminine voice from before purrs.

The eyes step forward, revealing two figures with midnight cloaks. One, a boy, smiles a sadistic grin, cracking his knuckles. The other, a girl, cracks her neck, clenching and unclenching her fists.

"Have fun, little mutt. Oh, and Drake? You're more than welcome to join us anytime," Ryan bids goodbye, before turning around and taking me with him.

I scream, kicking and punching his chest, but it only hurts me.

"Help! Help me, please!" I scream, watching the bodies of still wolves pass me by.

"Sera, I think it's time you went to sleep; don't you think?" Ryan says.

"No!" I screech when he leans down and bites into my neck.

Pain blurs my vision, painting black dots across my eyes. He stops, and everything goes black.

Quinn

I watch as the blood sucker takes my poor Angel away, while Drake keeps a steady arm around me. Hunter's out, and he snaps and growls at Drake.

"Let go of me, lizard! Serafina needs me!" I shout.

Someone chuckles. Astra.

"Poor little Quinn. Looks like you lost your mate," Astra cackles.

She snaps her fingers and a purple aura surrounds her hand. She clenches the hand into a fist, and I gasp, falling to the ground.

"Quinn!" Violet shouts, still protecting the children.

The poor kids start to scream and wail, while Atlas chuckles.

"I think those little pups need to shut up. Don't you think, Astra?" Atlas asks Astra, who grins and makes a movement with her hand. The kids all screech, before collapsing on the floor.

The pain continues all over, and I hear my bones snapping. I scream in agony, writhing on the floor.

"Quinny, no! Drake, do something!" Violet screams, tears flowing down her face.

Atlas turns his head to Violet, grins, and whispers something. Violet falls to the floor, now snoring. I'm just glad he didn't kill her.

"Drake..." I groan, curling up into a ball as more of my bones snap.

Although I have wolf blood, an Alpha's at that, my bones aren't mending fast enough. My vision is starting to go black, when Atlas sighs.

"I'm bored now. I'll see you later for another play date, alright Quinn?" He says, grinning sadistically.

"Come on, Astraea, let's go back home. We need to rest up for some more playtime," Atlas says, before walking to the edge of the clearing.

I don't see if they leave though, as my vision dims, then goes completely black.

Drake

"Hmm, I don't think you saw this in your visions, did you, Drake?" Atlas grins, chuckling.

I breathe out, trying to keep my temper under control. This had to happen. Otherwise Sera might never find out what she really is, I remind myself.

I close and open my eyes, smiling lightly afterwards.

"Actually, I did. Everything is going according to plan. May I remind you, though, that you won't succeed in killing all the wolves? Only the Alpha."

"Nonsense. We'll exterminate them all," Astraea sneers.

"Okay. I'm just giving a fair warning. By the way, watch out for Serafina. Her birthday's in a week. One week. If she changes, your plan will fail and you will both die. I cannot say the same for your boss, Ryan."

"Oh, he'll die alright. He's not our boss, and he may be immortal, but so are we. We know how to deal with his kind, and hers," Atlas calmly states, looking at his fingers.

"Are you certain? Because I see Ryan getting rid of you."

I shrug, trying my best not to show my smirk. All I'm doing is pushing them towards the right path. Now they'll avoid Ryan. Perfect. This way we can help Sera.

"And we'll kill that little twig before she can even start her change," Astraea says smoothly.

"Okay. Well, I think you two should go. The Alpha's waking up. Now's your chance to take his life."

I hurts to put them on this path, but killing Rick will lead to a much brighter future; one with the least amount of casualties. And Kristine needs to be alive for Quinn, or else he might give up later on.

Atlas grins, before disappearing in a whisp of smoke. Astraea follows, her laughter echoing after her. I sigh out in relief, before kneeling down over a still Quinn.

"Oh, Mr. Alpha, I really hope you pull through. Don't give up. Sera needs you."

Okay, let me just give a nice lil' WARNING rn: after this chapter or so, things get weird and kinda rushed. Also, I won't be changing anything about the plot. I'm DONE with writing this story, thank you very much! So, I'm very sorry if things don't exactly make realistic sense. *shrugs*
