Chapter 8: Trust Bubble

A/N: I got Hindi written in this chapter and it's translated weirdly 😂 I'm too lazy to change it so I apologize in advance.

-

"You have no idea how cringe worthy it was having to escape a famous-idol-group's house with no underwear."

Vinaye grinned, brow cocked as he opened at his locker. "I should try it some time," he teased, waiting for you to continue on with your ranting.

"It's not funny Vinaye," you scolded, still so angry when reevaluating everything that occurred, "I had to get Jin to drive me back and felt so naked and uncomfortable, dear god."

You shifted uncomfortable, whispering over at the man before you. His face was in a grin as he listened to you rant.

It was a new week, Jimin had tried to contact you and you grew tempted to mail his home your underwear from the night he took you back to his place, with a huge "fuck you" labelled out in black. Instead, you just wrote back bluntly and focused on helping him with work. He noticed you trying to distract the conversation from his apologizing all throughout the weekend, and you were incredibly relieved when he gave in to what you wanted.

Now, standing here, the start of the new week, you almost bit off the ears of Vinaye Khan as you went on and on about Jimin forgetting about you. The anger that still flew inside you was insane. It was like the anger you feel when some character stupidly dies in a horror movie by getting gutted by an axe murderer...

"I swear," you snapped, practically man-handling your bag's strap in frustration when holding at it, "I've got my scooper in my bag ready for this bitch."

Vinaye grinned wildly at that. Glancing at you with his side gaze, he stopped putting books in his back as he let one hand instantly grab hold of your bag. Snatching it away from you, he lazily tossed it into his locker before facing his attention back to grabbing hold of his duffel bag. Shutting the locker with a bang, he locked it.

You gasped when he took away your murder weapon in a blink of an eye. Scoffing, you tried not to pout at him amused with your anger.

"Chill out my serial killer," he mumbled, chuckling a little as he put the duffel bag around his strong form securely.

"I wasn't actually going to kill him," you mumbled under your breath, knowing you were all talk and no bark when it came to being angry with a friend, "just a little threatening with it ts'all."

"You watch way too many fucked up TV shows for me to actually believe that," he joked, holding at your arm in reassurance, "plus, I barely know the guy so I can't go around hating him just 'cause you two aren't popping each others cherries properly."

You straightened at your back at that. "Hmph," you sassily let out, eyeing your best friend down who simply grinned back at you. "I'm not a virgin," you defended, blinking as you awkwardly tried to show smugness by crossing your arms over your chest.

"Ye," Vinaye chuckled, stepping back so he could move down the semi-busy hallway, "fucking Urie for thirty seconds. I forgot about that slippery mess.."

"It was a long time agooo," you grumbled cutely, feeling exposed when thinking about the first time both Urie and you shared with one another. It didn't help that that time spent together was a "never speak about again" topic.

"Ye ye," Vinaye chuckled grabbing at your hand lightly as he slapped playfully at your palm and travelled down the hall facing you, "just bring your tainted Virgin Mary ass to the dance class today. You promised you'd help me practice for the competition."

You nodded, smiling sweetly at the man now.

"I'll be there."

"Okay coo-" Vinaye's breath shook when his back hit harshly over at a woman behind him.

The woman grumbled as she had been disrupted from pinning up flyers onto the board outside a small lecture room. Trying to catch the papers that fell from her hands, she didn't look at the man that bumped into her. Irritably bending down, she quickly tried to gather the spread sheets.

Vinaye's eyes widened. Yours as well as both of you rushed to help out the mess Vinaye had accidentally caused.

You grabbed at the flying sheets before they hit the ground, while Vinaye apologized and instantly went to grab hold of the sheets on the ground, kneeling in front of the girl.

"इन दिनों लोगों को चलना करने के लिए कैसे पता नहीं है। (These days people don't know how to walk)," she piped irritated, moving a strand of her dark hair behind her ear while kneeling as well.

Vinaye's brows furrowed at that. Eyes finally meeting the woman he had bumped into, he grinned when noticing her beauty. Narrowing his eyelids at her being annoyed, he assumed she thought he didn't understand her.

"मैं सीखना चाहिए (I should learn)," he replied back lowly, brow cocked when a charming smile erupted out of him.

The woman's eyes seemed to whip over at him at that, round shaped eyes shocked.

He smiled, chuckling a little before grabbing hold of the other sheets.

You watched, grinning like an idiot from behind Vinaye when seeing the way the two seemed to be looking at one another from the ground. 'Ight my boy! Get some!

"You're..."

"Chinese and Muslim," he piped, nodding when feeding into the woman's curiosity and reddening state, "I've dabbled in Hindi here and there."

She was no longer angry or annoyed with the world in that moment. Feeling her cheeks burn up every time he smiled her way.

"I meant to ask for your name," she clarified, smiling a little when his eyes met hers again.

"Vinaye Khan," he said smiling, eyes narrowing as he passed over the mess of sheets he had caused earlier, "...you?"

"Zia," she said lightly, smiling as her eyes squinted beautifully.

"A pretty name for a pretty face," Vinaye cooed back, pearly whites out and flashing when Zia flushed further.

You tried not to snort at that, all while holding back your cringe. Smacking Vinaye with the sheets over his head, you laughed when the usually smug and intimidating man almost fall back on his backside.

"I'm Y/N," you chimed cutely, extending the sheets for Zia to take as she slowly stood up from the ground, "I'm sorry if we disturbed your work."

"You did," Zia chuckled at, moving a strand behind her ear out of habit. She glanced Vinaye's way as he got up from the ground as well, "...well, he did. But it's okay, I uh, thanks for the help." Her voice grew a little high near the end as she shyly moving her foot behind the other.

You nodded at her, grinning hugely when she smiled sweetly over at Vinaye before awkwardly saying her "goodbyes" and walking away.

"Why not ask her to be your dance partner? It'll give you a reason to touch her up if you wanna so bad," you cooed out teasingly, winking over at Vinaye who looked over at you in boredom.

"Nah," he piped, turning on his heels as he moved away from you again, "I'll touch you up instead."

You laughed, instantly forgetting about how Jimin treated you to make you so upset over the weekend. Having literally, ten minutes of the morning to see Vinaye, and now a few seconds with Zia, you were completely fine.

"Byeee!" you sang out, watching the man leave down the hallway.

-

"Hi," Jimin said lightly, swallowing harshly when standing against the wall by the library entrance.

You glanced at him, nodding before moving past him swiftly and towards the library doors. It was enough acknowledgement to refrain from being rude, but it was the perfect amount to show just how pissed you still were. And you were...you were still so frustrated.

Jimin's lips pursed when seeing you walk past him and head into the library. Moving inside behind you, he knew you were probably going to stick to professionalism and not speak so openly with him. That fact alone simply made him want to not have a bed anymore...that way, he wouldn't accidentally leave a breathing individual underneath it.

"If it makes you feel any better she only came by under BangPD's commands," Jimin piped, not knowing why this would effect anything. It's not like Y/N's my girlfriend and she caught me cheating. Get a grip Jimin!

"Did you read the rest of the book?" you bluntly asked, ignoring him as you sat comfortably on your chair. Hands stretching out dramatically, you brought them on to the table, putting one palm over your other hand. Straightening you back, you tilted your head when making eye contact with Jimin.

"We've got a scheduled session for 60 minutes on the dot. No extra time so we should start early."

Jimin pouted at that, feeling the irritation from you escaping every time you spoke.

"Y/N I-"

"Have you read the book?" you asked again, feeling like you'd be here as a waste if he hadn't.

"Yes I have."

"Fine," you piped, nodding. You waved your hand in the direction of his seat, urging him to sit across from you.

He sat. But, it wasn't at the chair you suggested. Instead, he pulled all stops and sat directly next to you, smiling nervously over at you when your tired eyes found him.

"I'm sorry Y/N...she came by and I completely forgot everything important," he started, trying not to reflect back to the awkward night. Nari had come by, only to leave literally 3 minutes later. It wasn't a long conversation with the members, but it still tore Jimin a part.

He didn't ditch you so he could spend time with Nari, like how you thought he did. He left, angry-headed, and hurt, leaving the house so he could drown himself with more work at the building.

You had spent the time alone waiting, and he spent his time alone learning and singing.

"What page did you stop at?" you asked, taking the book he had in his hand into your grip.

"Y/N don't do this," Jimin sighed out, knowing you were planning on dodging every reasoning he through your way.

"Don't do what?" you asked, brows furrowing as you tried to act oblivious.

"Avoid what happened..." Jimin trailed off, eyes sad when searching the side of your face, "I left you the entire night pantless."

You cringed. Mostly because you could hear the hauntings of Gabbie's laugh echoing through your mind when you had told her the day after.

"Technically I was wearing my uniform," you mumbled defensively, blinking down at the book.

"I'm sorry."

"Jimin you left me," you took in a breath, closing the book shut in your hand before finally giving the man the attention he wanted. Jimin swallowed in slight fright when your angry eyes met his, "you left me ye, you say it like it's no big deal!"

"I never said that I-"

"I'm about to say the most cheesiest shit," you said through your teeth, trying not to yell out in a library. Jimin was working your last nerve with the innocent persona. Sure he was apologizing, but you weren't sure if he knew exactly how much he was in the wrong... "but, it's not about what you say, but about the way you say things," you sighed out, finishing your thought, "you've been apologizing repeatedly over the weekend but it's an apology that should be used for when someone drops coffee on a stranger's book or someshit."

"I really am sorry," Jimin chimed back, not wanting you to think that this didn't mean a lot to him...that you didn't mean a lot...

"But you wouldn't take it back," you shot out, eyes narrowing when the boy grew confused.

"I-"

"You're so infatuated with your ex to the point where if we were to magically go back in time right now, you'd still leave me under the bed just so you'd get a minute with her."

"You can't just jump to conclusions like that," Jimin softly let out, feeling uncomfortable with the accusation, "I wouldn't."

"But you would," you said softly, "you can't even look me in the eye when saying you wouldn't."

Jimin took hold of the book.

"I know you regret and feel bad for leaving me behind," you said lightly, nodding your head reassuringly, "I'm just disappointed that you blindly let go of all agenda, dropped everything, just so you could talk to her. That's not moving on Jimin...one day you'll have to face your fear."

"We've only know each other for a few weeks," he said gently, "please don't tell me what I'm afraid of and what I'm not..."

You laughed bitterly at that. "Ohhh, so now I'm a stranger?" you piped, loving how he seemed to change his relationship with you so quick, "this coming from the guy that's been calling me his close girl pal and tutor girl for the past weeks!" You softly yelled out the last bit passionately.

It grew silent at that. Jimin's nose scrunched, hating that he said anything because you were right. He hated that you were, but you were. A fact was a fact.

"I'll talk to her properly soon," he said softly, shifting in his chair next to you, "I'll try to move on."

You took a long time to nod, eyes on the table before you.

"...and you are my friend," he said softly, awkwardly glancing at you, "surprisingly a really close one already."

"I guess not close enough," you popped out, trying not to remember the horror that was waking up with 6 sets of eyes staring at you under a bed.

"We are close," he said gently, "I've opened up to you more than I ever could with many others I've known for years...even some of my members don't know the reason behind Nari and me ending."

You slowly looked over at him at that. Seeing him painfully smile at you, you eyed the way his cheekbones fluffed up when his lips curved.

"I trust you," he said gently, feeling terrible, "...and I know that what I did probably made me untrustworthy for you."

"It did," you said.

His face fell, shoulders slouching in as the painful smile was still present.

You swore internally, shutting at your eyes as you took in a quick breath of air, "but I also don't hold it against you entirely. You're still hurt over Nari so I won't break the trust bubble just yet."

He smiled at your way of wording the trait of trust as a 'bubble'. Staring at the side of your face when you smiled sweetly at him, he shut at his eyes nodding before trying to get back to his point.

He wanted to be okay with you. Jimin didn't want you to be angry any longer.

You noticed him smile and warned him. "Ay, but don't take that as me forgiving you," you chimed, trying not to grin, "you still left me underwear off underneath your fucking bed. I don't forgive easy."

Jimin nodded, understanding completely. He smiled a little however, loving that you were looking him straight in the eye and talking now.

"I uh," he smiled, a little nervous when trying to bring this next bit up, "since you're still disappointed and upset, I thought of a way to wiggle my way back into your heart-" he joked the last bit, smiling as he swayed his fingers in a wiggling motion and continued, "food."

You snorted, laughing a little.

Mouth opening into a smile when he leaned over into his bag and brought out a card, you were surprised it wasn't some tacky granola bar of some sort. You'd still take it though, you thought internally, don't lie to yourself.

"First you leave me under a bed and now you're feeding me paper?" you asked jokingly, taking the card from the boy when he extended it to you.

It was a tiny envelope that was sealed. It's so cute.

"Open it at 8 tonight," he said gently, smiling lightly when staring at what was written inside.

You were slightly confused. But seeing his face, all gleamed up and smiling, you forced in your words and smiled a tiny bit back.

"Okay."

-

"Okay," Vinaye sang out, hands going to his hips as he stood in his baggy tank and grey sweats that tightened around his legs. Snapback on, he scratched at the his slight shadowed beard starting to grow in as he walked authoritively towards you.

The studio was empty. It was starting to get late and yet you remained focused and here for your best friend. Sure, this might be weird at first since he had briefed you on the song and moves vaguely before. But, at the end of the day, Vinaye is a friend that needs help. So I'm going to be mature about this and help out.

"Last call," Vinaye chimed, grinning before stretching at his muscular arm, "back out while you can."

You scoffed, half glaring before waving at your hands for him to start. "I'm not some baby," you piped, not knowing why he kept trying to make you change your mind.

"Fine," he mumbled, smiling smugly before walking towards his phone that was connected to the DOC system that blared music in the room.

"Just promise you won't try kissing me like the last girl."

"That's what happened to Mae?" you asked, trying not to laugh when asking about the woman that Vinaye had tried to partner up with for this intimate dance routine.

"Yes," Vinaye asked laughing before starting at the music and moving towards you casually.

"Well you don't have to worry about any of that," you said smiling, slapping your hand in his when he extended it for you to take, "I don't kiss easy."

"Sure, having Park Jimin's ass in my face as a welcome back greeting while you made out on your bed wasn't easy...?" he teased, squeezing at your hand a little as he fixed his hat on his head with his free hand.

"Jimin's different."

"How so?"

"He's cute," you popped out, trying not to flush as you focused on getting into place in front of Vinaye when he guided you by tugging at your hand.

"...and I'm not?" he joked, laughing a little at what you had accidentally implied.

"N-No, you are! Of course I-"

"Chill out," he chuckled out, noticing the abruptness seep out of you.

You looked over at him innocently when his face fell a little, eyes meeting yours. "We'll just do basics today so you don't feel uncomfortable. Basics usually just require the movement of the legs...let's just have fun today ye?"

You nodded curtly. One thing Vinaye was the most serious about was dance. And there was no way you were planning on getting in the way of him and dance by screwing up or fooling around so much. He was stern when he spoke about it, but also extremely patient and understanding.

He really was getting better and better at the process of being a teacher. You sighed internally, a little saddened, his father would be proud.

Sticking his hand out, you gave it to him, smiling awkwardly when he pulled you into him.

Hand moving to your high back, you put your hand onto his shoulder before stepping closer when he instructed.

Watching him teach you the box step as the first step, it was easier to get distracted after a while when you focused on your legs. When you mastered at it, Vinaye chuckled when you grinned smugly.

Your breath hitched a little, smile falling a tiny bit when the chuckling man's hand went lower onto your back. Now rest on you hip, you swallowed harshly when his tall form brought you dangerously closer. My boobs...are...basically...touching...his motherfucking chest.

He was simply being a teacher, nothing fazing him from what you could tell by his facial expressions and body language.

"Just gotta be comfortable with me," he mumbled out, trying to perform the box step to the next level, the lack of space being a test.

"Ye-Yeah," you let out, gulping down air before trying to focus down on your legs.

You couldn't however, eyes roaming his face, eventually, gaze landing on his lips. Your gaze lingered there for a while as he spoke.

You didn't know why you couldn't look away.

-

You looked away from your friend's lips. Nose squishing in revolt when Gabbie puckered at her lips and aimed them at you in greeting.

"It's not funny," you mumbled, shoving her away a little when the woman wouldn't let the idea of Jimin and you go.

"Kinda funny," Aiyanna popped out, smiling to herself as she stared at the television in front of her.

You sighed, moving into the place all three of you shared. Sweaty and feeling exhausted from helping out Vinaye for hours, you regretted telling him to continue everytime he tried to "call it a day".  You didn't want to stop dancing with him which slightly creeped you out. He's my best friend...

Shrugging away the thought of the dance practice, you wanted so badly to go and take a shower, pass out, and just sleep through the night and day. Mumbling a goodnight over to your two girl pals, you didn't catch them grow overly amused when seeing you enter your room.

It was 9 p.m. at this point and you were completely over it. You were confused over them grinning like idiots in your direction when your hand went to to door knob. Asking them what was up, they shook their heads and looked back at the television.

Too tired to argue or urge anything out of them, you focused on slipping into your room.

Tossing your bag onto your bed, you dragged your feet towards the bathroom. Not thinking twice over what other events you should be paying attention to.

Stepping into the shower, you smiled when the warm water created a slight easing sensation to your aching muscles. You didn't want to get out, but when you did, you lamely wrapped a towel around your form before dragging your tired feet back out into your bedroom.

Grabbing at your lotion from the bedside table, you sat onto the edge of your bed, blinking tiredly as you applied your lotion to your bare legs, arms, shoulder, neck, and eventually your bare face. Sitting there, you put your toes onto the floor, softly letting the bottom's on your feet touch the cold hardwood floor.

It was 9:35 p.m. now.

Putting your bag off your bed, your mind totally slipped up on opening the card Jimin had told to open at 8 p.m.. Instead, your aching body needed to change into your pajamas and get rest. That's all that was on your mind...rest.

About to move off the bed by putting all your strength into your feet to carry you. Your froze.

Tired eyes bugging wide and in shock.

You felt a warm draft of air hit you left ankle from under the bed.

Someone was underneath it.
