The story you are about to read began as a figment of my imagination in early 2019, caused by a contest on the @Wattzombie profile. At the time, I didn't have time to put my thoughts on paper but I held on to it and let it grow in my mind throughout 2019.

In December, I finally decided to start writing. The story was haunting me, demanding to be written, so I relented. I was about four chapters into the story when I saw another zombie contest that just happened to fit exactly with the early part of my story. 

I'm presenting it here to you in the form of a short story.

Although initially only the 2.5k short story will be shown in this book, the rest of the story will follow. In fact, the initial few chapters that cover the events of the short story are quite a bit longer than what you see in this story so what you read is only part of the picture. 

I'm not yet sure where the story will quite end up and I don't intend to publish any further chapters until March at the earliest but I figured, this short story is an opportunity to gauge interest, to see whether you, the reader, would like to see where this story goes.
