Dorcha sat in his room. His dirty brown hair swiped every which way. He waited for his guardian angel to come. The door was locked shut and the blinds were closed. He felt the eerie presence of the room as it got colder.  Dorcha was only 13 years old. Still a kid.

He saw the feathers of his angel but his angel himself looked different.

"You changed, Arthiel." Dorcha examined his newly formed angel.

"I know. I got...An upgrade in Heaven, that's all." Arthiel replied.

" Really? What else did ya get?" Dorcha asked with that glint of joy in his eyes. He liked hearing the stories of Arthiel's good comings.

" I would love to tell you, but I have to do something important with you." Arthiel puts his hands on Dorcha's frail shoulders.

"What's that?" Dorcha asked.

" Before I tell you, you have to trust me, ok? Promise." Arthiel glared back into Dorcha's blue eyes. His now maroon colored eyes, which used to be a delicate hazel before he went through the pits of hell.

" Ok Arthy, I trust you. I promise." Dorcha replied.

Arthiel gave a sad smile. He felt horrible inside, lying to his beloved guarded human child, but it had to be done. Arthiel took the empty cup that used to rest water when Dorcha would get thirsty at night.

"Close your eyes." Arthiel asked Dorcha, and Dorcha nodded.

Arthiel cut the palm of his hand, letting the dark colored blood from his hand flow into the cup as he squeezed. He wiped his hand on his tattered jeans, allowing the cut to heal on its own, disguising the slight pain from the cut he made.

"Hold out your hands, don't open your eyes yet." He said strictly. Dorcha held out his hands and felt around the cup, holding it close. " I need you to drink every drop." He then instructed to Dorcha.

Dorcha did so, grimacing at the taste of the metallic liquid. "Ugh, taste like nasty medicine." He sticked out his tongue when he finished. He handed the cup back to Arthiel. Arthiel took the cup and dropped it, allowing it to shatter into pieces. He picked up one of the glass shards and brought Dorcha closer.

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." Arthiel kept muttering as he grabbed the back of Dorcha's neck with one hand and with the other...

Slit the kid's throat open and letting the blood spill in the wooden boards of Dorcha's room. Dorcha opened his delicate eyes as his skin went pale. Tears began to fall down his face as his smile faded into a depressed frown.

" I trusted ya.... I promised..." Dorcha sniffled before all life inside him seized to exist. He felt to the floor, lifeless, and hitting it with a hard thunk that woke his mother and brother from their slumber.

When Dorcha's mother burst the door open, there was no sign of Dorcha or the guardian 'angel' that was with him. The only thing that remained was the broken glass of the cup and the blood pool of where Dorcha had died.

"What happened? And who are you?" The child's voice rung.

"Well, first things first, you almost died." the demon's voice replied "Lucky I was here to save you. My name's Damian, I'm your demon guardian. An angel just tried to kill you." The demon explained while applying stitches to the child's bleeding gash that rested above his small Adam's apple.

" T-thank you. Why were they trying to kill me?" The child asked.

" Because your father's a general in hell and there's a bounty on your head." The Demon replied, occasionally glanced at the healed scar on his palm.
