Hello! I'm sorry that this is so late- But I've been writing two essays a week, and preparing for a debate, and three speeches. I literally wrote this entire chapter in small margins of freetime while I eat lunch, because at this point, that is the only free time I have unless I start sacrificing my daily 5 hours of sleep, and I'm not doing that. I'm already sleep-deprived enough.

Will teleported away.." He explains. "And I think the.. mode of transportation.. We used to get here made us faint or something.. Or maybe Will knocked us out so we couldn't prevent his escape."

"Really? That doesn't seem like the type of thing he'd do... You know he's not very strong.." I point out

"Strong enough to pin a trained soldier.." He mumbles under his breath.

"What?"

"Nothing." He says quickly and briefly takes off his pine tree hat and rubs his fingers through his hair. "We should get going.."

"Right.." I pause as I look at my brother. He's certainly acting like himself, for the most part. The exception being a new confidence in his eyes, which almost makes him seem overconfident and arrogant. But that was nothing to raise concern, even my brother can get too confident from time to time. He certainly looks like my brother. Except..

"Is that hair gel..?" I blink in surprise. Most of it had been hastily rubbed off, but in his self-manicure, my brother had called the small amount to my attention

"No." He quickly puts his hat back on. "I'm just a bit nervous.."

Nervous sweating. Definitely within my brother's character.

"Alright.. Sorry for playing twenty question with you.. It's just that my memories are a bit fuzzy, and being unconscious and waking up in Bill's pyramid didn't help the situation.. Just making sure.. You never know what could happen now a days." I laugh

He laughs along with me. "Yeah.. Our lives are pretty crazy."

His gleeful laughter is filled with the type of joy one receives when something goes just as planned

---Gleeful boi's POV---

Convincing her was harder than I thought it would be, honestly I didn't even think she was smart enough to even notice the change. "So.. Finding Amanda.." I slowly glance around the hallway.

My 'sister' nods. "That should be our priority.."

I start walking. As long as I try to act like him, and avoid suspicion, I should be able to fool her long enough to get to Amanda. Then I can dispose of this dimwit and her pain of a brother, and all will be well again.

---Mabel's POV----

I follow him

Walking ahead of me, walking confidently, the hair gel that definitely was not sweat, mumbling angry comments about Will, and the small amount of cologne I can smell on him. I think he's my brother, but all of this is strange.. Of course it is a possibility that I just didn't notice that he put hair-gel in his hair and that he sprayed on a bit of cologne, and that he's nervous because I noticed that he was trying to make himself look better for Amanda.. It's also possible that the new confidence is just a new trait, or maybe he's actually confident because we made it here... 

It's too early to tell at this point.. All of this could just be a paranoid assumption.. But I'm not letting my guard down.

I look at my brother, who seem to know where he's going.

"So.... Any idea where she is?" I ask

He nods and turns left.

I follow his fast pace. "How exactly do you know..?"

He pauses for a long time. "No reason... Just a hunch.."

".....Sure.."

He follows the hallway, and now he seems a bit unsure of his movements. 

Eventually we make it to a set of double doors, and he opens them without any hesitation

The room inside appears to be some kind of medical room, with large locked cabinets for storage, and a lot of medical cots lining the room

Amanda looks up at us from her place on one of the cots and blinks in surprise.

I grin and happily run to her and tackle her in a hug. 

She smiles and looks at my 'brother.' "What on earth are you two doing here?" She smiles happily. "How did you get here?"

"We're here to rescue you, obviously." I smile

"Rescue me?" She pauses, and smiles a bit. "I'm not really in any danger.." 

"Still! Your father just disappeared, and you were gone, and Dipper got so depressed and we both missed you so much!" I pause. "Plus, your dad technically kidnapped you."

"I guess that's true... But in theory I'm only here for a few days, until this 'conference meeting' is over..." Amanda states

"Meeting..?" I ask

"They're trying to release Nightshade... No one here knows about what happened, so they're all under the impression that he's innocent, and we're keeping him imprisoned against his will and against the 'justice' of the situation.." Amanda explains

"Seriously?!" 

She nods

"You ask me, the entire thing is just a rouge.." William states

"What..?" I glance over at him

"The only person requested in the meeting was Amanda... No one else.. Not even our father or Nightshade himself..." William states. "I think it's all a plot just to lure her out of hiding.."

"We have no way of knowing that." Dipper speaks up for the first time and we all look at him.

"It's pretty obvious." William states. 

"If you shuffle words around enough, anything can sound true.." Dipper states. "You're all just paranoid.... They probably requested Amanda because they think Bill would be biased and lie, and because that demon refuses to release Nightshade for the meeting.... They think Amanda is an easy target for them to exploit, because she's young and newly brainwashed.."

".... How do you know all of this..?" Amanda slowly stands as I release her

"Just a guess.." He states

"Weirdly specific guess.." Amanda walks over to him

"I'm a strategist... It's what I do best.." My brother sounds calm

Amanda eyes him suspiciously. 

"Don't make fun of me just because I'm a little nerdy... I just thought through it logically..... I mean, who's left to try and deceive us? Nightshade is locked up, and I doubt the Gleeful twins have any interest in serving him anymore, especially now that he's out of their way.." He explains his thoughts

"Alright... But still..." Amanda pauses. 

"Oh, let him be.." William dismisses. "If he wants to argue with me, let him.."

"Plus, I'm more concerned about the fact that he hasn't even tried to hug you yet..." I point out. "He got so gloomy while you were gone, and it's only been a few days.."

Dipper pauses, and looks at Amanda, and hugs her, but in a cautious way, almost as if he's expecting her to yell at or hit him. Once she hugs back, he relaxes and readjusts his hands so the hug is more of an embrace. 

"Ewwww..." I groan. "Take your love somewhere else it's embarrassing."

"I agree." William nods

"Oh relax." Dipper looks at us. 

Amanda pauses and looks at Dipper, than at me, mouthing the words: 'Who is this?' followed by: 'Where's Dipper?'

The door suddenly opens again.
