Yes this is late, but this is me we're talking about so of course it's late

(Also my creativity with these titles lately is 10/10 😂 )

Recap:

I turn my head to look at her and can only see her neck and head, the rest is still on the other side of the mirror, the grey void hiding the rest of her body

Amanda suddenly laughs

"What?" I ask, laughing slightly

This makes her laugh more and I finally realize, obviously she is only able to see the half of my head that made it through the mirror, so I'm just a floating face to her

Realizing this, I burst out laughing with her.

As soon as I do, someone frantically taps me on the shoulder. I blink in confusion and slowly pull my head out of the mirror, struggling. I snap and stumble backwards as soon as my head pops out of the mirror

Amanda easily slips her head out of the mirror behind me

"They're here!" Mabel's panicked voice shrieks

And now I hear them, loud sirens and voices shouting outside of the house.

"And they found dad's unconscious body..." Mabel whimpers.

"Way too late for redemption." Bill chuckles

"What are we gonna do?!" Mabel panics, whimpering

---Still Dipper's POV---

It was bad

We winged it

Well it was mostly Mabel explaining

I tried to approach it rationally but she would randomly add things onto the story I was trying to use to explain the last hour of events. Her explanations were logical, kinda.. They didn't really make sense but if they were the reality of the situation, you would just assume that we were just weird people

The police department sent two police cars, each with two people. And while all four of them were waiting for us, Will decided he was better off hiding in the mirror because if he didn't, the gate may seal and we'd lose William and their way back to Gravity Falls.
Amanda and Bill decided to join us as we explained, but both had to wear dark sunglasses to conceal their slit pupils and yellow eyes

And after Mabel's over exaggerated story.. The officer who sat down to talk with us summarized his understanding of it
"So... What you're trying to tell me is that this entire thing was just a big 'misunderstanding' and that your mother was knocked unconscious by a  rock that got thrown through your open window-"

"Which explains why there is no broken glass!" Mabel interrupts

"...Right.." He pauses. "You don't know where the rock came from but you assume whoever threw it is still out there so we should 'search the area outside instead of any.. mirrors..?.'"' he looks confused.

'Why would they even think to search the mirrors...?' I rub my forehead

The officer continues. "The phone call your father made was just a trigger happy phone call because he was not informed that you were inviting the yellow-haired man over to the house.." he pauses and Bill decides to speak for the first time:

"This is because they are irresponsible meatb-- I mean human children tween things and don't understand simple things like dimensional travel and black magic and tortu--" I quickly stomp on his foot and he shuts up, but looks very annoyed

"Umm... yeah.. suuuure... And umm, this girl, who you claim to be your cousin, who is also blind." He gestures to Amanda, who is still wearing the dark sunglasses to conceal her slit-pupils. "Accidentally pushed your father down the stairs while he was making the phone call, which explains why he's unconscious... And also explains the noises that quote: 'might've sounded like punching, but in reality was just his falling down the stairs...' And when your unconscious father fell he ran into him-" he points to Bill or "the yellow haired man" who was also wearing dark sunglass to hide his eyes. "Who is coincidentally blind as well.. and that explains why he was so angry when we were listening to the phone call.."

He pauses and opens a cardboard box Mabel had placed infront of him. "And the rest of the phone call we heard, including the 'weak meatbags' comment and the 'punched him once out of annoyance' parts were just you rehearsing for a sock puppet musical performance..." he looks into the box, which had Mabel's sock puppets, and the burned remains of some of them, from back in Gravity Falls (you remember in the Bipper episode)
"Which you provided evidence for that being a hobby of yours.."

Mabel quickly nods

"So that's your explanation for both of your parents being unconscious and the phone call..?" The police officer raises an eyebrow

"Yep! And there's no one here named Bill! And there is no reason to go upstairs and check the mirror in my brother's room for irregularities!!" Mabel says quickly

I slap my forehead. 'We're doomed..'

"Alright." He stands up.

We all pause and I blink in confusion. "Alright..?"

"Yes, alright." He nods. "I believe you."
When he nods, two of the officers behind him start to move

"Great!" Mabel grins happily

"Finally.." Bill is obviously annoyed

One of the two police officers suddenly tries to tackle Bill, but ends up going right through him
He blinks in confusion

"Oh no you don't!" Bill glares at the man

The second officer speaks up. "Please just calm down and put your hands in the air.. it will be better for everyone if this ends peacefully." He assures

"Peacefully?!" Bill glares. "Over Pinetree's dead body!!" He then looks at Amanda and grabs her, sprinting passed the officers and up the stairs

"Oh geez- Amanda!" I quickly run after them and I can hear Manel follow me, along with several other heavier footsteps behind her

As we reach the top of the stairs, we make it just in time to watch the last part of Bill's yellow tailcoat fly through my bedroom mirror

I quickly run over to the mirror and try to press my head through like before, but I just end up shoving my face into the mirror's hard surface
