Consideration

"What."

~

"You heard me, sir. As your head advisor, I advise you to take Ms. Ciprian and Mr. Lyon into our ranks as new recruits, instead of resigning them to a fate worse than death."

Axel sat there with a look of utter revulsion on his pale face. The women called Lu decided to wonder to the right side of the room, the side my chair was positioned, and browse the books.

Axel, and the rest of the occupants in the room finally got over their shock.

"WHAT THE BLOODY H-"

"Lu, what on earth has your unorthodox head be-"

"You can't let her do that sir!"

"I will never rejoin this corrupt pla-"

"...wait, what?.."

"THAT IS ENOUGH!"

Silence soon fell with Axel having the final word. He turned his attention to the controversial woman in his presence. They leveled each other with calculating eyes.

"Why are you asking this absurd and highly dangerous request?!"

"Why are you so against it?"

That gave the Dracul leader's cold appearance a dash of color and anger.

"Well to start off, they have severely injured and crippled a number of our men, they would never be loyal to this organization and what we are here for, and they both have previous crimes! Now, tell me Lu. Why would you have these criminals be trained and become more lethal to us in the long run?"

Lu turned away first, seemingly contemplating her next few words.

"Well, Ms. Ciprian and Mr. Lyon didn't kill any of our men, so that's always good-"

"Be serious Lu!"

"I AM!", she yelled with a frustrated sigh straight afterwards.

"They didn't kill any of our members which is a surprise knowing how renowned they are in their own ways, they don't have to be loyal to us, they just have to follow orders, and we can honestly over look their offenses, sir."

The affect her words had on the people in the room was priceless, to say the least.

Polly was not even making an effort to hide her complete disdain and contempt for the wayward woman and her idea. Boris was right behind Polly in that department. Xander looked to be uncomfortable with the thought of us joining, but seemed to digest it better then the other two. When I peered at Trevor he looked like he wanted nothing more than to run out of this building and never look back. Axel, who had donned his icy calm mask once more, wasn't expressing anything in particular. I'm just surprised they haven't killed us yet.

"Lu, how can you see this as a good solution?"

"How about this: think of it as not a'relieve them of all punishments' situation, but more as a ... 'give them a second chance because we both need this' situation. Sir, because of the revolution, the Rasa population decreased at a rapid rate. People were killed in combat, but that doesn't mean we need to take the same path with these two. The decision to make isn't simple, but it is the best thing to do. They get to keep their lives, while we get extra men to utilize in the process."

The Dracul leader paused to reflect before responding to his advisor's logic.

"There is still a security risk enrolling them. How will our permanent members react to this? How would we make sure that they aren't a flight risk? Who would take the time and effort to complete the tasks pertaining to these two individuals?"

"Well, they'll have minimal interactions with the majority of our affiliates, we'll have someone capable to stand those two watch over them 24/7 if that is needed, and for the person to take care of them... its up to you sir."

Moments passed as Axel turned his thoughts over in his head.

Or at least, thats what I assume he is doing ...but what do I know about frigid, souless leaders with a slight god complex.

Axel looked up from his musings to the rest of the people.

"I will... consider this course of action. Until then, these two crim-.... Trevor and Riri will be kept as they were when they first arrived here. You are all dismissed. Lu, stay."

Polly stocked out of the room followed shortly by the impatient Boris dragging a fuming Trevor. Xander and I left last, him closing the door with a sharp clatter.

Our footsteps sounded as we made the short walk to my room. Once the door was open I paused before the threshold.

Here we go again with my stupid questions...

"Hey Xander? Since Axel is your leader and all, do you think he'll except what his advisor suggested?"

Surprise and apprehension colored the younger man's face. A short pause followed, which was punctuated with a curt shake of his head.

"I wouldn't know. "

I took the answer at face value and stepped into my room. He closed and locked the door, leaving me to my whirling thoughts and my restless roommate.

Definition of God Complex: an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility. A person with a god complex may refuse to admit the possibility of their error or failure, even in the face of irrefutable evidence.

Now remember I said slight god complex. Axel can sort of admit to being in the wrong, but all the other things are pretty true about him and his character.

FINALLY! Do you know how long it took me to write this chapter??? A very long time -_-
