Your POV

I sit on Hank's desk, wondering where he is.
I'm starting to think that I should go and look for him at his house, but that thought is cut off when I spot Connor walking over.
"Hello, YN," he greets.
"Hey, Connor," I respond.
"Do you know what time Lieutenant Anderson usually arrives?"
Before I can answer, Wilson does so for me, "Depends on where he was the night before. If we're lucky, we'll see him before noon."
As he was talking, Connor was looking at Hank's stuff on the desk.
"Thanks." Connor looks back to me, "Should we call him?"
"I already tried, he isn't responding," I dismiss, getting back on the floor. "Let's go to his place, see if he's there."
"Alright."
Before we can do anything, Hank himself shows up.
"Look who just joined the party," I tease.
"Yeah, yeah."
"It's good to see you again, Lieutenant," Connor adds.
"Uh, Jesus!"
"Hank! In my office!" Fowler orders.
Hank grumbles and heads to said office, Connor and I sharing a glance before going to stand near the steps to listen in.
"I've got ten new cases involving androids on my desk every day. We've always had isolated incidents, old ladies losing their android maid and that kind of crap... But now, we're getting reports of assaults and even homicides, like that guy last night.
"This isn't just CyberLife's problem anymore. It's now a criminal investigation and we've gotta deal with it before the shit hits the fan. I want you and YN to investigate these cases and see if there's any link."
"I get why you'd want YN on these, but why me? Why do I gotta be the one to deal with this shit? I am the least qualified cop in the country to handle this case! I know jack shit about androids, Jeffrey! I can barely change the settings on my own phone," Hank complains.
"Everybody else is overloaded. I think you're perfectly qualified for this type of investigation."
"Bullshit! The truth is nobody wants to investigate these fuckin' androids and you left me holdin' the bag!"
"CyberLife sent over this android to help with the investigation. It's a state-of-the-art prototype. It'll act as your partner, as will YN."
"No fuckin' way! I don't need a partner, and certainly not this plastic prick!"
"Hank, you are seriously starting to piss me off! You are a police lieutenant, you are supposed to do what I say and shut your goddamn mouth!"
"You know what my goddamn mouth has to say to you, huh?"
"Okay, okay... I'll pretend like I didn't hear that, so I don't have to add any more pages to your disciplinary folder 'cause it already looks like a fuckin' novel! This conversation is over!"
"Jeffrey, Jesus Christ! Why are you doin' this to me? You know how much I hate these fuckin' things. Why you doin' this to me?"
"Listen, I've had just about enough of your bitching. Either you do your job or you hand in your badge. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got work to do."
That's when I grab Connor's wrist and tug him away so we won't seem like we were just eavesdropping on their conversation.
Hank stomps over to his desk and sits down.
We walk over and I sit at the desk opposite of Hank, as it's mine.
"I get the impression my presence causes you some inconvenience, Lieutenant. I'd like you to know I'm very sorry about that," Connor mentions sincerely to Hank, who says nothing.
He continues, "Is there a desk anywhere I could use?"
"Go sit with YN, I'm sure he'll enjoy the company," Hank replies.
I look up and grin, "Yeah, come here. Just pull up a chair and you're set."
He nods and does as I said, myself making room for him to sit beside me.
"You have a dog, right?" Connor asks Hank.
I blink, a bit surprised.
"How do you know that?" Hank responds.
"The dog hairs on your chair." That makes sense. "I like dogs. What your dog's name?"
This makes me smile a little, finding those statements to be kind of cute.
He's trying to establish a good relationship with Hank. That's nice.
"What's it to you?" he retorts, but adds after I shoot him a look, "Sumo. I call him Sumo."
"He's really adorable, too," I pitch in as I skim the files, Connor looking over at me. "Such a sweetheart."
"Yeah, he is," Hank nods.
Connor grins at this information. "I'm sure he is."
After a moment, he continues, "You're a Detroit Gears fan, right? Denton Carter scored fifty-three percent of his shots from the three-point line yesterday. Did you see the game?"
I see what's going on here.
He's using what he saw on Hank's desk to his advantage. Smart.
"That's what I was watchin' at the bar last night."
"Oh," Connor mutters.
"Whoops," I whisper with a mild snicker.
He nudges me playfully and I tell him in the same tone, "If you want to keep going on about things he likes, I'd say talk about Knights of the Black Death. Hank listens to them sometimes."
He nods and looks back to Hank, "Do you listen to Knights of the Black Death? I really like that music. It's...full of energy."
"You listen to heavy metal?" Hank deadpans, raising an eyebrow.
I muffle a snort, covering my mouth so I don't release an actual laugh.
"Well, I don't really listen to music, as such...but I'd like to," Connor replies, saving himself.
"Sorry," I say almost silently to him, grinning in amusement.
He smiles back at me and shakes his head.
"Have you known Captain Fowler for long?"
"Yeah," Hank responds. "Too long."
"I was wondering... Do you always arrive at the office at this time?"
"I arrive when I arrive. Stop busting my balls, okay?"
"...If you have any files on deviants, I'd like to take a look at them."
"Here," I move over some, allowing him to get closer to the terminal. "Knock yourself out. I'm not really paying too much attention to them right now anyways."
"Thanks," he tells me gratefully before zooming through all of them.
Just watching that makes my head spin, so I look away and rub my eyes a little.
"Two hundred forty-three files. The first dates back nine months. It all started in Detroit and quickly spread across the country," Connor announces.
I return my gaze back to the terminal, clicking on one of the files, "An AX400 is reported to have assaulted a man last night."
"That could be a good starting point for our investigation," he finishes with a nod.
"Jesus..." Hank trails off, annoyed.
"I understand you're facing personal issues, Lieutenant, but you need to move past them and—"
"Hey! Don't talk to me like you know me. I'm not your friend and I don't need your advice, okay?" he snaps.
"He's right," I state, their eyes turning to me. "If you don't get over it, Hank, how can you ever move forward?"
Before he could reply, Chris walks over and interrupts, "Lieutenant, Sergeant...uh...sorry to disturb you. I have some information on the AX400 that attacked the guy last night. It's been seen in the Ravendale district."
