Awoken

Tyrone's POV
Uncomfortably, I woke up on a rough, sturdy surface. My eyes fluttered open to figure out what was going on. My eyes darted around the unfamiliar location as my chest begun to feel tighter. Cold sweat dripped onto the unorganised mess of wooden planks- intended to be a floor but failing miserably- making an eerie yet satisfying "pit... pat" sound ,which echoed in the large, blood-splattered room. Darkness cloaked the majority of the room, the only source of light being a dim bulb hanging by a chain that was as frail as a piece of string. Everything I could see told me "GTFO" so I decided to find my way out. I forced my still sleeping body to get up. As I did, my hand landed on a note. Hastily, I picked it up and read it. The entire thing was in blood, which made my muscles go tense. I'm suprised I could still make out letters since it was smudged slightly from the sweat on my hands. It read "I am sorry to say but you and your sister have been chosen to feed the monster within these woods. Don't worry, it'll all be over soon. Just don't struggle and it will be mostly painless. Again, I am very sorry. -Anonymous." Well, just when I thought this couldn't get any scarier, it did. Now I know I need to get out of here. I'm guessing since Taylor (my twin sister) wasn't in this room with me, she's somewhere else. I attempted to steady my breathing while I searched for an exit. Alright, there's a locked and chained door, a shatter-resistent window and a hole near the roof that I couldn't reach. Hmm, the only tools I have to work with is a broken chair, rocks, a book and the note. If I could reach the gap, which I presume is where the creature gets in, I could easily fit through there. If I lean the broken table against the wall and stand on it, it'll collapse and may break. So, is this it, am I doomed. Hopelessness was an ocean, washing over me and causing me to fall to my knees. Choking down a few sobs, I considered my options. Stay here and be eaten? No chance. But, how will I get out? Maybe I could pile up the rocks and climb on them. I'm good at that sort of thing. Outside our house, we have a pile of wood and I enjoyed climbing on it, so, I can do it. However, I don't know how long it's gonna take. I sighed before piling up the rocks. Once I was finished, I cautiously begun walking on them, taking my time. In the distance, I heard a shriek which caused me to almost loose my balance and fall. Luckily, I stabalised my footing before continuing my mini hike. When I was close enough to the wall, I stretched my arms to their limit in a desperate attempt to get to the hole. My hands clutched onto the disorganised rock. It felt like it was just bashed carelessly. This was a good thing since it's much easier to hold onto. When my hands were positioned just right, I pulled my body upwards. Thank god I work out. Eventually, my head reached the hole. Just as i was about to begin crawling through, I came face to... face? With a horrific creature. Immediately, I let go, my body being beaten from the impact with the rocks. The bumpy surface was agonising to land on. I swallowed a wail, hoping the creature wouldn't see me. It's skin was a wrinkled raisin and white as an albino. It's eyes were missing, just empty, void on it's face. It's skin was stained with a dull, red-brown liquid I assumed was blood. It shrieked, causing my body to tremble and my lip to quiver. Fighting against my instinct to sprint, I lay there, attempting to calm my nerves. It scanned the room, seeming to search for the source of the raspy breathing. It left, but not without giving one more high-pitched screech. Gradually and silently, I stood up, my body still vibrating like one of those relaxation chairs. My heart was beating so fast and agressivly, it felt like it was going to burst straight out of my chest. My body was soaked with sweat. Alright, I decided to try to climb again, my body still aching from my fall. I'm certain their are a few cuts but that irrelevant now. This time, I managed to crawl through and I landed outside in the maze if trees. The wind blew hard and clouds covered the full moon. Why do these horror stories always take place at night; mostly during a thunderstorm? Reluctantly, I started walking through the darkness and creepiness of the forest.
