HUNTER

This is a story of a young family. It consisted of a baby boy, a 17 year

old mother, and a 19 year old father. This is the family of the Parchica

woods. Both parents had run away from their families, searching for freedom

and a new life. The mother's name was Tyler, the father's, Mitchell, and

the little boy's was Dex. They lived in the old abandoned shed of the

Equata river. They loved each other like normal people, they worked hard

like normal people, they also had a religion like normal people. But the

Davlin family were not normal people. They had a secret, dark, and

dangerous.

1 YEAR EARLIER

"Tyler honey, get off that cell phone!"

"MOM!!!! Isn't that the goal of a teen life, stay away from your parents and only talk to your friends?"

"No! Who told you that?"

"No one, but I guessed if you were teenager, which you definitely aren't, you would understand." Grumbled Tyler. Tyler was like all spoiled girls, had a major crush, had a boyfriend she didn't even like, and, well, a cellphone. One thing Tyler didn't like about her boyfriend was that he asked too much of her. He always was up to no good and doing things his parents had eventually kicked him out for. And his next parents, the ones after that, and the family after that. Carlos was definitely an all out baddie, but she couldn't blame him for it. Besides, she needed to have a boyfriend to stay cool. Right? But she knows in her heart the one she really loves, who is much too good for her, was Mitchell. She loved his coffee colored eyes, dark brown hair, and his built body. I mean look at those abs!!!

~MITCHELL~

"Tyler, why can't you be here now?" whispered Mitchell as he stared at the stars. He held onto the branches as they swayed slowly in the promising wind. He knew his naughty cheer captain girlfriend would not approve of her, but he didn't care. His secret crush would always remain that way, no matter what anyone thought about her. The wind, a lullaby, softly sang him

to sleep. He dreamed of her blonde hair flowing in the wind with the beautiful dark chocolate brown streaks in it. Suddenly, he heard cracking in the dream. Tyler turned around her eyes frightened as she stared at him. The ground then split and he was swallowed into the dark, gaping hole.

He woke with a start, just as the branch below him, snapped in half. Mitchell stood up disoriented, nothing broken, thank goodness. Just, hurting. He had a major cut above his left ear though, and it was making him woozy. "Great, Mama is going to have a fit about that tree. Who knows, she might even cut it down!" Frustrated with himself about falling out of the tree, he didn't notice the man, standing right next to him. Only when he felt a warm draft of breath did he turn around. In a flash the man had him pinned to the ground. "You look mighty tasty." He muttered with effort. Mitchell wondered what it must be like to pin a 18 year old body builder. The man's tongue flicked and his teeth bared, showing long pointed incisors. "I don't know who the heck you think you are, but quit playing funny boy with me psychopath, I'm not messin' around." Mitchell's gritted teeth made the stranger sneer as he flashed him his brilliant white teeth. The stranger said nothing as he very harshly pulled Mitchell's arm to his mouth. "Too bad we have to hurt the pretty boy." Before Mitchell could say anything, the stranger started carving letters into his arm. Mitchell screamed in pain as his body convulsed, with what? Mitch didn't know. As the stranger carved the last letter, he looked Mitch in the eyes and smiled. His incisors, a velvet maroon, slowly retracted. He laughed, a witch's cackle and thrust Mitch's arm into his face. His arm read 'HUNTER'

~TYLER~

Tyler woke up the next morning in a cold sweat. She grabbed her phone and started the day (as always) by texting her friend. She thought to herself, "Thank god its Friday." Really, she never wanted to go to school, ditched once a while, but her mom insisted. She wondered why she woke up so jittery, and forgot about it, went downstairs, and had breakfast. She ran out the

door for the bus stop.

Her so called "boyfriend" was waiting for her at the stop. "Hey why the sad face?" She glanced at him while the words slipped out of his mouth. Tyler remembered Mitchell at that moment. She slipped away from her boyfriend Carlos' hands and stood still at the corner while the bus drove up. "Oh it's nothing." Tyler stepped onto the first step of the bus and could see the annoyed face of Carlos in the corner of her eye.

-Mitchell-

Mitchell found himself in a hospital and his eyes slowly opened at the sight of Mama. She looked like she had been crying and her thick eyeliner and mascara had dripped down hercheek like black molasses. Feeling week and tired and not remembering anythingthat happened, he heard the heart monitor in the background of the talking and music of the television. "What's going on?" Mitch murmured to Mama.

"I found you unconscious in the field and called 911 immediately. You were so pale in the ambulance I just could handle myself and I......" Mama started crying. "Ugh. Here comes the drama." He thought to himself. "Okay i'm better." she looked at his arm.

"Oh my God. What happened to you!?"

"I don't know! I was unconscious!" He read a blurry, "HUNTER" on his arm and Mama noticed the shock on his face.

"I need go tell the doctor this." Mitch grabbed her arm as she started walking away.

"No Mama, I just want to go home and figure out this whole mess."

"Okay, i'll tell the doctor you are ready to go." Huffed Mama. After the approval of me going home, the nurse placed Mitch in a wheelchair and pushed him to the exit of the hospital doors. Mama stood next to him, on her cell phone, telling her so called "boyfriend" what happened before he also had a heart attack.

~TYLER~

Tyler's whole day didn't go as she planned and again, she couldn't stop thinking of Mitchell. When she got home, she found her mom's car gone and no one there. She called her boyfriend and asked if they could go see a movie or something to get things off her mind (those "things" were Mitchell). After the "date" she walked into the house and slowly walked up the stairs so no one would notice. She ran into her room and grabbed the slip of paper that had Mitchell's number on it. This was only used for emergencies. And yes, this was an emergency for her. Tyler grabbed the phone and started dialing. Her hands shaking as she lifted the phone up to her ear.

~MITCHELL~

When Mitchell got home he immediately sat down on the couch. As he did, the phone rang. "Hello?"

"Hi"

"Who is this?"

"Tyler. Tyler Savage."

"Wait, seriously? You're really Tyler Savage?

"Last time I checked. This is the Francisconi residence right?"

"This is crazy! I mean, first we meet at school, then I loose you, and now...wait? How did you get this number?"

"That's not the point here. And the reason I had to leave was...well that's not the point either. Something isn't right. Every morning I wake up like i know something just happened that can't be changed."

"Well surprisingly enough, I was just attacked... So the mornings I've had we're pretty much just filled with pain. And the attacker definetly wasn't human."

"What are you saying, you believe in the supernatural?"

"No, seriously, I will send you the picture of what happened to my arm. I just came home from the hospital." Tyler heard the message alert on her phone go off. The text that appeared was a picture of Mitch's arm with writing in dry blood that said "HUNTER".

"Oh my gosh...what is that?"

"Hell if I know...I wish I knew who did this to me."

"Did you see the person's....I mean 'not-person's' face?"

"It was too dark, and all I saw was these...vampire teeth..."

"Okay seriously, vampires aren't real. This isn't Twilight."

"Ya I know. But I don't think it was anything like a vampire...he had these strange markings on his face."

"Okay just give me your address and I will be there as soon as I can."

~TYLER~

Tyler noticed that Mitchell lived at least an hour away and started to regret calling him. She hung up the phone, got her stuff together, and quickly got into her car to go to the train station. She didn't quite feel like driving tonight. She also didn't want to take the train, almost never, because there was always so many people taking it. But tonight was different. When she came to the ticket stand, the worker didn't look at her at all and she barely said anything except for "That will be $5.19" in a very raspy voice. Tyler cautiously walked to the train stop and saw it come speeding in. Fast. She thought to herself, "Geez that's fast...how is it going to stop?" And the train didn't just stop, it completely froze. It was going at least 100 miles an hour, and it just...stopped. Tyler walked onto the train and noticed that there was no one on the train. It was just her. She sat down on one of the old, gray, tattered seats, wondering what was going on. Tyler placed her bag in the seat next to her and then looked up to see her reflection in the window across from her. Long blonde hair. Hazel eyes. A crooked nose. She felt the vibration of the train's wheels scrapping against the tracks. The atmosphere in the train was very unnatural, and Tyler was squirming in her seat. The door to the car opened an startled Tyler. A man came out, the conductor, and asked Tyler for her ticket. "Quiet night, isn't it." He said.

"Um, ya. Why is there no one else on the train? There is usually a dozen or two whenever I'm here." Tyler really didn't want to ask this question but it kinda just blurted out of her mouth. The conductor looked at her ticket. "Well, Tyler Savage. Tonight's your lucky night."

"Wh-what do you mean?" Tyler was completely terrified now. And started to reach in her bag for her phone.

"Oh don't worry. It's nothing bad. Just a little-" Before he could finish, Tyler took her hand out of her bag and swung her fist right in contact to the conductors face. He fell to the floor, grasping his cheek. Blood ran down his fingers and he quickly glanced at Tyler with blood shot eyes and cat-like pupils. "What the hell?! What are you?!" The man stood up quickly and started walking towards Tyler, flicking his tongue every few seconds. "If you move one step closer to me I swear I will kill you!"

"One must die tonight! And Tyler Sssssavage...it's not going to be you." The man had a voice like a snake and Tyler noticed his sharp, long, pointed inscissors. "You're the one that attacked Mitchell!"

"Oh no Tyler Sssssavage, we didn't just attack him. We turned him into one of ussss." Tyler was now crawling on the floor trying to get away from the creature. "Shut up! Just get away from me you psycho!!!" The creature lunged towards Tyler and grabbed her arm. "Say goodbye Tyler Sssssavage. Say goodbye to everything." Tyler struggled as much as she could but his grasp was too tight for her to get out. He pulled her arm up to his mouth and started carving precise letters into her skin. Tyler screamed and yelled at the top of her lungs as she felt the pointed teeth dig into her arm. Everything meant nothing to Tyler at this point and everything was...gone.

~MITCHELL~

Hours had passed and Mitch started to worry. He had called Tyler on her cell phone at least 5 times andhe never got an answer. "Maybe her train got stuck or something" he thought to him himself. Mama had gone over to her sister's house to tell her what happened to Mitch. She had told him to stay at home but without knowing what was going on with Tyler, he just couldn't sit there and do nothing. Mitch got into his car and drove down to Tyler's town. He would think that if something had gone on with the train they would go back to the station. And that's exactly where he went. There was a train sitting on the tracks, with the lights on inside of only one cabin. He got out of his car and ran to the train. Mitch pryed open the doors with his hands only to see Tyler lying on the floor-guessing she was unconcious. He panicked at the moment and fell to the floor beside her, shouting her name to try to wake her up. "Tyler! Tyler wake up! Ty-" he glanced at her arm. "Oh my god, no! Tyler! Tyler!" Her arm was dripping with blood and there were letters etched into her lower arm that read 'HUNTED'.

~TYLER'S POV~

I felt like Alice falling down the rabbit hole. Or a shooting star falling down to earth. Everything in my mind was falling, down, down, down until I reached him. Who was he? I knew him, he knew me. But he was a sranger. And I was a ghost to him. A toy to play with. Made of glass. Just waiting to be smashed on the floor. Into a million peices. I felt like I was going to wake up and be completely psychotic. Breathe, I told myself, he's waiting for you to wake up. I wasn't telling myself this. The man was, he was. So I did what he asked me. I woke up.

~MITCHELL~

Mitch noticed out of his blurry eyes that Tyler was beginning to wake up. "Tyler? Tyler are you okay?"

"Where am I...who are you..."

"Tyler, Tyler it's me. Mitchell. What happened?"

"Mitchell...Mitchell...I...I think I know you..."

"Ya, you do. We are in trouble Tyler. We need to get out of here. And we need to figure out who is attacking...us"

~TYLER~

Tyler felt Mitchell's shaking hands carry her to his car. She could barely see anything, and he would stumble across his own feet every few steps. Tyler didn't know where they were going, and she could tell that Mitchell didn't either. He layed her down in the back seats of the car and every once and a while when the where driving she would open her eyes and notice that he would look at her every few seconds in the mirror. She was glad that he was caring about her, but she was also worried about her mom noticing she was gone. Well if she cared to notice. Tyler grumbled in pain and Mitchell pulled over to the nearest gas station up ahead. "Tyler, are you okay?"

"Um I don't really know...what happened?"

"Something happened Tyler, I don't really know what." Tyler stretched and noticed her arm and almost screamed. She looked at Mitch with fear in her eyes. "Mitchell what is going on?!"

"That's the one thing that I don't know Ty," Tyler had never been called Ty, except for when she was five years old. "We need to go somewhere. Where they, meaning whoever is attacking us, can't find me and you." Still shocked at what happened to her, Tyler quickly noticed something. "Mitchell, doesn't your arm say, 'HUNTER'?"

"Ya, why?"

"Because mine says, 'HUNTED'."

"Do you think that means something?"

"Well ya, you're the hunter, I've been hunted."

"But that doesn't make any sense. Why is it different words?" Mitchell finally clicked into the situation at that moment and fell back into his seat in fear. Tyler saw his terrified eyes in the rear-view mirror. "Mitchell, don't worry, we will figure this out, we have to. Just please don't loose track of what's most important here, we're finally together."

"I know. That's the only thing keeping me from having a heart attack right now." They both laughed it seemed like nothing else mattered at the moment except for them. Mitchell leaned into Tyler and kissed her on the cheek. Mitchell went back into his chair and Tyler fell backwards and started convulsing. "Tyler? TYLER!!!" As her body shook violently, Mitchell crawled into the back seat and grabbed her shoulders so she would calm down. Very suddenly, Tyler stopped and opened her eyes which were pitch black. "Oh hello Mitchell. We have been waiting so long for you to meet us." It didn't sound like Tyler. It sound like a woman with a very raspy but powerful voice. Mitchell was cared out of his mind and "Tyler" obviously noticed that. "Don't worry, we aren't hurting her. Just using her to tell you that you would make a great addition to our little 'team'"

"Get out of her body who ever you are. I'm not going to join your team and I'm not going to let you hurt her."

"Fine but your making the wrong choice. Many dangers are going to come your way Mitchell Davlin."

"What? My last name isn't Dav-" Before he could finish Tyler woke up breathing very heavily and passed out on the seats. Mitchell felt dizzy, out of sorts, everything spinning...gone...way, way down...into darkness.

Hours passed, maybe days, Tyler and Mitchell still asleep. It was gloomy outside but you could still see the sun peeking through the clouds. The car was still parked in a gas station and no one really seemed to notice that they were people still inside. At around eight o'clock in the morning, a worker from the convenience store came out and tapped on the glass of the car window. "Hello? Hello, is anyone is there?" His voice sounded muffled from inside the car but the tapping definitely woke up Tyler. She jumped up and hit her head on the roof of the car. "Ouch," she looked outside to see the man peering into the foggy window."Um, ya there is someone in here."

"Well can ya get out of my parking lot? You've been here for three days." Three days? Tyler wondered why she couldn't remember why she was here so long. Mitchell grumbled as Tyler looked down to see that she was kneeling on his leg. "Woops sorry. Mitchell you gotta wake up, someone is here telling us to leave. We've been here for three days." Mitch opened his eyes in shock. "We've been unconscious for three days?"

"I guess so. Do you want me to drive? You look pretty bad."

"Wait Tyler," he grabbed her arm before she got into the front seat. "Something happened last night. You were like possessed or something."

"Don't be crazy I think I would know if I was possessed. I'd feel all weird and stuff."

"Trust me you were. Someone was using you to talk to me I guess. And she said my last name was Dalvin for some reason."

"Hey I think I heard that name in class the other day. Their family was like murderous killers who...." Tyler paused in a moment of shock.
