chapter 11
Kadrid paced he dungeon back and forth for the next two and a half days before she could no longer stand it. She had a feeling something wasn't right with Pandora. She yelled to Salem that she was taking off and darted out of the dungeon before he had a chance to respond or talk her out of it. She flew fast and hard, needing to get there as soon as possible. She was hoping that she was wrong, maybe over reacting a little. That feeling crept up on her like a demon fairy. Sneaky and nothing but a pest. She tried to think positive but there was no use. She knew in her heart that something was off. She flew without a break and shaved a good forty minutes off of the flight there. She landed with a thump, a little softer than the last time directly in front of pandoras' cottage. She then used her large tail to knock on the ground next to the small house.
Once again there wasn't a response. Kadrid shook her head. She wanted to sit there and cry. Then she thought of something. She went into the nearest town and began asking until she found someone that knew Pandora, one of her neighbors. He had not seen her in nearly a week. She bid the gentleman thank you and headed off. She needed to get back home and report all of this to the warlock. If others haven't seen her that may give cause for Salem to be alarmed. She flew as if her life depended on it. She flew on faster with each flap of her wings, she had to get home and convince Salem it was indeed time to panic. She loved Salem of course but there was a deep spiritual connection when it came to the sorceress. She flew like a rocket going though the clouds. Half way there she was exhausted but she didn't care she needed to save Pandora. When she finally landed hard onto the soft earth she couldn't belive she made it back so quickly. She darted into the tower and down the winding stairs to the dungeon, where the warlock was most of the time.
Salem looked up from his research to see his baby dragon standing there in tears. She was still pretty young for a dragon but rarely had he seen her cry like this. He couldn't bare the sight of her sadness. He dropped what he was doing and walked over to comfort her, first with a hug. She looked like she needed it. It had to be serious for the dragon to cry.
"Don't wory i have ways of finding her, i'd just rather not spy on her unless it is nessesary. I think this qualifies as such." Salem told her.
"Do you promise you can find her? I'm scared something has happened to her." Kadrid spoke in a tear filled panic stricken voice.
"Yes, i promise you i can find her no matter what." Salem reassured Kadrid.
"What can i do to help?" She asked intently.
"I need you to rest, we may need to go get her depending on what is revealed to me." Salem explained to her.
Kadrid nodded before walking across the room to her preferred napping area near the hearth. She curled into a ball and dozed off within minutes.
Salem stood there sipping his coffee watching the dragon snore. He then turned the other direction to get to work. He needed to obtain the right spell to find Pandora. He wanted to ease the dragon's worry as well as his own.
