Chapter 4

The hybrid warlock sat there across from the sorceress depleting a few more bottles of wine, they were both having a good time. They discussed spells, incantations, rituals and supernatural fact and theories. By the time they had started discussing meditative scenarios, Kadrid had crept back into the dungeon, to see how things were going with her warlock and  friend. From what she could see, they were having a good time, and  were indeed drunk. Two seconds after the young dragon entered the room, Salem turned around to see her there.

"There you are, come in and join us please." Salem offered to the dragon.

"Actually I came to offer to fly our friend home, it's gotten very late." Kadrid explained.

Pandora took a last sip of pixie wine and nodded to the dragon, she turned to Salem for a proper goodbye.

"Kadrid, Salem thank you so much. I haven't had this much fun in an eternity. I would know, I too am hybrid. I'm an immortal sorceress." She finally told him.

"Something else we have in common, that's great. You are welcome to come back anytime you wish to see us." Salem offered just before draining his wine goblet.

'I will take you up on that offer, and most likely the help with potions too." Pandora started batting her eye lashes.

Then hugging him goodbye she kissed his cheek; before climbing onto Kadrid back to fly home for the evening. As she flew home on the dragon she felt a rush of a thousand different sensations. She was so glad she agreed with the dragon and met her warlock. The stars seemed to shine brighter this night. It was an amazing moment of bliss. Salem was the only thought invading her mind the entire way back to Scarlett's Isle.

When phoebe left with Kadrid, Salem waved goodbye to them. He paced his dungeon back n forth, thinking of the immortal sorceress. Unsure as what to do, he poured more wine and attempted to mentally process all these strange feelings. He was a little saddened when it was time for his new friend to leave, he really enjoyed the time he had spent with her. It had been a very long time since hey enjoyed the company of another person. He didn't like most people as a general life rule, but she was different.

Salem drained the bottle and then went over to his work space.to try to get a few things done. He couldn't concentrate, he tried reading a book of mythical enchantments, but he could think of nothing but her. The thought of her crept into his mind and that was all he could think about. He tried to meditate and even that didn't work. His mind kept returning to the witch, her laugh, her lavender soul shattering eyes. He couldn't wait to see her again . He began to wonder if she had came into his life for a reason, so he added a page in his spell book about phoebe. Lost in his own intoxicated thoughts, he wondered if she thought of him as well. He was there lost in thoughts of the witch when he realized it had been a few hours since she left. What was keeping the dragon.

He staggered around the dungeon, gulping the wine a bit more he grabbed a few books and headed to his favorite gothic style chair. He skimmed through most of his alchemy book when paranoia crept up on him. He sipped the wine a little faster and a little more often as he began to worry. What if something bad happened to his dragon child/ What if Phoebe were in some kind of trouble? He began going through different horrifying and morbid scenes in his mind. He tried to force himself not to over worry, but he couldn't help being protective of her. He didn't mind the solitude but when she wasn't here he worried over Kadrid as if she were a human toddler not a fire breathing dragon.

He waited, growing more impatient as the minutes passed, trying to force himself not to panic. He decided on one more glass of wine, then he would panic, until then try to relax, he kept telling himself so much it felt like a mantra. The warlock sipped slowly trying to think about anything else. His main focus was the safety of Kadrid. He mulled through half the glass of wine when he heard an all to familiar thud. There could be only one thing causing it. That was the sound of his dragon.

"I have returned Pandora, she is home safe as am I." The dragon stated before curling up into a large ball shape on the floor.

"I'm glad you're home. Can I ask you something?" The warlock inquired.

"What is it?"

"Why?"

"Why what ?"

"Why did you bring the witch home?" He had been waiting to ask her.

"I thought you could use a friend that is familiar with sorcery."

"Thank you dragon. I like her." He admitted to Kadrid.

"You're welcome. You really like her?" The dragon asked him, eyes lighting up like a child at Christmas.

"Yes, I had a lot of fun, I'd like to see her again."

"She said the same thing." Responded the dragon.

"Did she really?" The warlock asked, climbing down on the floor to sit closer with her.

"Yes, and that she wishes to see you again."

'Did the sorceress say anything else? When does she wish to return?" Salem blurted out almost badgering her for information.

"Calm down, I will bring her to you as she wishes in a few days."

"I am calm." Salem replied in a defensive tone.

"I have known you most of my existence. You're acting like a love struck mortal."

"I'm doing no such thing." He retorted back.

"Okay, fine but I must rest now. Good night warlock." Kadrid fell into a deep slumber right there within minutes.

Watching her drift off put a smile on his face. Then needing sleep as well he slowly got up and staggered to his bed chamber for the night.
