nobody roleplays with tags anymore it honestly looks like these days??
i love roleplaying in tags because i hate chains so much, and chains are what keep me away from most roleplays nowadays.

chains are so annoying and hey look here's a rant about them

nothing good comes out of chains. nothing. however i guess i can see a few positives like
—it's easy to use
—easy to roleplay in
—don't have to worry about tagging anyone
—very popular roleplaying method

maybe there's more positives but i don't know?!!! i see a whole lotta negatives
—ENDLESS notifications
—have to look through ALL the replies to know what's going on
—everybody's roleplay comments are short as fuck, little to no detail
—no tagging, so it can be hard to tell who's talking to who
—half of the time it's people (talking out of the roleplay) rather than actually roleplaying!!!

now i don't mind when you're rping with two or three people in a chain. now that's simple. bUT THOSE MAIN CHAINS WITH OVER 20 USERS IN THEM?? ALL TRYING TO COMMENT AT ONCE??
nu-uh
no way.
they're unreal.
they're the worst.

now, you're probably thinking, what makes the tagging method so great then, huh? well here's how i see it.

negatives
—sometimes people forget to tag you
—sometimes you have to reread the comments above to see what's going on
—tagging users can get annoying & condescending

positives
—you only get notifications when tagged / when your character is being interacted with!
—talking out of the roleplay is so easy, because you can use the replies/chains for that! keeps it organized without interrupting the rp.
—people tend to write more roleplay sentences, or at least, that's how i've seen it be done
—you know exactly who you are roleplaying with, because you're TAGGING the people! so everyone knows!
—it's easy to tell who's roleplaying with who! just look at the usernames the roleplayers are tagging!

but that's just me. i wish the tags were more popular like they used to be, because i HATE chains.
