The Eevee was not expecting this.

Almost as soon as he began to lick the top of the younger shiny's head he heard a loud shout that made him pause mid lick.

"Stop right there! I won't let you eat my brother!"

He lifted his head too meet the enraged Pikachu who wasted no time to charge up an attack.

What?! Eat?! I wasn't eating anything!

"Pikaaaa-chuuu!" The Pikachu exclaimed, her cheeks sparking with electricity now.

A quick bolt of electricity aimed at him. He yelped in a panic as his body jumped. He barely dodged the attack.

"Wait! I wasn't going to hurt him, I swear! I was just exploring like him when he ran into me! I can't even hunt!" Orion breathed out in a panic.

He tried to draw in deep breaths, but his throat closed up.

Maybe mother is right. He thought, trying to take in breaths. They were stolen from him as he was knocked to the ground by the Pikachu.

Maybe I'm not ready for the outside world.

The Pikachu thrust her paw onto his throat.

Despite being threatening, Orion observed the Pikachu was shaking quite furiously. She seemed afraid herself. Or perhaps a more shy sort of afraid.

"Your tongue was on his head!" She exclaimed in a frenzy. Her paw shaking as she pulled it off.

"Explain that, Vee." She remarked, her voice getting quieter. Her lip quivered in worry and fear.

Despite being pinned, Orion couldn't help but feel sorry for this Pikachu.

We might be different, but I think we're the same regarding how much time we spend out in the woods. Or anywhere outside our place of birth.

Orion sighed.

Maybe explaining things to these two Pokémon would give him the credit he deserved. After all, it was quite misleading the way he just licked the shiny Pichu.

Speaking of the little guy, he was cowering behind a tree. He didn't seem afraid of Orion or this other Pikachu who was obviously worried sick.

Is she his sister?

"I had no intention of eating him. He rudely ran into me in the middle of my hunt. I do apologize if my actions appeared in such a way." Orion apologizes, bowing his head respectively towards the Pikachu.

"Huh? You mean to tell me you had no intentions of eating my brother?" The Pikachu clarified, not believing a word coming from his mouth.

Her tail twitched in annoyance.

"You really think I'll believe that coming from a predator like you?" She hissed.

Orion backed up slightly, gritting his teeth as his ears fell to the back of his head. He kicks up some dust.

The Pikachu slams the paw back on his fluffy chest.

"I-I was hoping so. I-I know that predator and prey aren't on the best terms, but I didn't mean to scare him or to make you think he was in trouble. I just wanted to capture something. I can't even capture anything. Please let me go!" Orion wailed in a pathetic attempt to make the electric mouse set him free.

He didn't even realize how much he was truly trembling until the Pikachu's paw was pulled away from him by the shiny.

"Please, Aquila. He didn't mean any harm. I'm the one who rudely ran into him wanting to get into trouble. Please don't take your anger at me out on him. I know you're worried about me, but please. He could have easily eaten us both if he wanted." The shiny Pichu squeaked as his paw held his sister's.

The little Pichu's gaze held slight care and such a strange amount of bravery.

The Pikachu, who's name was now known as Aquila, pondered over it a little bit.

"I suppose he could have just fought us to eat us, but he didn't. Say what's an Eevee like you doing all the way over by Pikachu territory anyways? You mentioned hunting?" Aquila commented thoughtfully.

Orion nodded his head.

"Unfortunately I'm very bad it. As you can see I had a clear chance to catch something, but failed."

Orion decided to spare these two the details.

"Haha." Aquila remarked, running the back of her head awkwardly.

"Anyways, you should probably get back to your family, and all that. I'm sorry, once again for almost annihilating you. I seriously thought my brother was in extreme danger. Though it's weird to see a predator Pokémon so nice to us prey, I guess you had no bad intentions to eat him after all." Aquila remarked, curling her fingers around her brother's paw.

The little shiny Pichu bounced up and down while his sister was discontented with something.

"Come on, Scorpius. We have a couple of adults to face." She commented, pulling on the Pichu's paw as she turned around to go back.

They're going back home? Orion guessed. He was sure it was a definite, but he didn't know.

His new Pikachu acquaintance wasn't too happy to return.

Whatever it was it was none of his business.

"Bye, bye cool Eevee!" Scorpius exclaimed as he waved goodbye to Orion.

Orion waved back with a smile.

"Goodbye little Pichu." He softly spoke, waving a tiny bit.

Orion then turned around, wishing to focus on what he could find next.

He didn't want to find a Pichu or Pikachu.

He was confident if he did and caught it the Pikachu would come back and kill him.

He wasn't given much time to hunt because he couldn't find anything.

But the real question was why. Why was there nothing around? Besides that Pikachu and Pichu it seems all the prey went back into hiding.

It was just his luck.

He would be proving his mom right and she would do everything in her power to keep him back in camp.

Before he could turn around to face the possible consequences, he found himself walking down a path.

At the path's end was a bunch of tape that were labeled things like, 'do not cross' and 'danger.'

Despite these warnings, and not know why he tackled the tape which broke upon contact.

Helplessly, he realized he was no longer in control of his body and he found himself walking towards a statue he never seen before.
