Chapter 1
Dear diary,
This is Marinette as always, it's been a month since I met my supposed soulmate. Now that I thought long and hard about it, it might just have been a trick of light--just the dark blue sky reflecting lightly on his sparkly green eyes...
Just like yesterday,
Marinette 🐞

"Stupid little Marinette...I wonder what got into to my mind that day," Muttered Marinette as she packed away her mostly used clothes into a bag. She was, after all, going to University to study fashion. It has been her passion, even as a child.
"Marinette dear, your moving out tomorrow. Can't leave packing until the last minute, better hurry up," Her mother called from the kitchen.
"Yes mama!" Marinette yelled as she started packing her sewing materials. She then found an old, tattered, stuffed toy she had from two years ago. A souvenir from a painful memory.
"...hey Tikki. It's been a while huh?" The toy was holding a pair of earrings. Ladybug's earrings.
Marinette missed all of it, the wind in her face, her hair flowing as she jumped from roof to roof, most of all she missed Tikki and her partner.
"Don't worry Tikki, I'll get you back." Marinette put on the earrings again, unlike always, Tikki was not zooming through everything. She was just there, in Marinette's hand sitting motionless.
It's been two years since Hawk Moth created the first akuma that actually succeeded. He didn't get the earrings but he managed to get the ring. Tikki was turned into a stuffed toy by the akuma, Ladybug and Chat didn't have time to name it, but they knew it was going to cause chaos if they didn't stop it. But the akuma just magically disappeared.
After all that, they haven't revealed their identity to each other. They didn't have the chance anyway, they don't know each other out of the mask. They were separated when they got defeated. For Marinette, defeated was not the right word, according to her Hawk Moth just stalled them to have time to create a plan.
It was there after all, the earrings, in his fingertips but he didn't do anything.
"Marinette! Hey girl, how's packing?" Alya just burst in the room completely startling Marinette.
"O-oh, hey Alya! It's going fine?" Marinette answered, more like questioned.
"You don't seem so sure." Alya laughed and picked up one of Marinette's sketchbooks. "You were so obsessed with mystery guy back then huh?"
"Shut up Alya. It's been years already." Marinette laughed. Knowing that the kid he met long ago was just another kid from the city.
"Uhuh, I know that hun. The blog isn't doing well either. I have no leads on where to find Ladybug or if Chat was able to get back his ring." Alya paced in Marinette's room.
"Come on Alya, you were able to find out that Chat lost his ring! How many journal- what do you mean either?"
"Well you're clearly not progressing in packing up," Alya said. Marinette wanted to say something else on that matter but she knew Alya was right.
"Well, I'll be going now. Gonna try and find some other leads." Alya rushed out the trap door and outside the bakery leaving Marinette to wonder why she even came here.
It took another few hours for Marinette to finish packing up. Of course she wouldn't leave Tikki or her sketchbooks or her materials or her cat pillow or...everything else she think she'll need.
"Well that's that. How about we head out Tikki?" Marinette asked as she picked up Tikki from besides the cat pillow.
They walked and walked and walked some more then stopped at a pretty garden. Butterflies fluttered everywhere and reminded her of the Akumas she and Chat fought.
And there he was, but it wasn't exactly him. Was it?

"Adrien, remember. We're leaving tomorrow so get a good night's rest." There was a soft knock on Adrien's room door. It was Nathalie.
"Yes Nathalie, I know," Adrien said. He was excited to go to university, escape his father's clutches even just for a bit, yes all of those are true. Yet Adrien was just there, lying down on his sofa, almost lifeless.
Who could blame him? This was the day he lost Plagg. Annoying, that's true but he still missed him. There's no going around that.
He didn't know how but his ring was gone the very morning he woke up. He left the window open the night he came back from patrol and he's been blaming himself since then.
"Plagg. I'll get you back." Adrien sighed and decided to go against Nathalie's orders, but not really. It wasn't even nighttime, even by his father's standards. Nonetheless he still had to be careful.
Once he was out, he decided to go to a place that reminded him of the fun times he had with his bugaboo.
It wasn't anything special, just a beautiful garden. Simple yes, but beautiful. It was full of butterflies. The white ones were his favorite. To him it was the Akumas Ladybug had saved.
He stayed there for a while. Maybe an hour. He was about to leave when he saw Ladybug. But it wasn't. Or not on the surface anyway.
"It's you," she muttered. They made eye contact once again after a while. Adrien didn't think much about it back then but he saw another flash of color, but not exactly at Marinette's eyes. Everything turned blue for a second.
It didn't need to be asked, Marinette experienced it too.
Adrien was about to say something when Nathalie came. No words needed, it just means he needs to go home and would be very much in trouble if he didn't.
"See you around, I guess," Adrien rushed away before Marinette could say anything. Instead of a déjà vu feeling, the first thing that she thought about was how long had that girl been a sort off chaperone for the kid-boy-man? She didn't really get his name again.
"I didn't get his name again Tikki, but isn't he a bit too old to be in need of a service?" Marinette asked Tikki. No response.
"Who am I kidding? He is probably just rich to the core." Marinette started heading back to the bakery. She needed to rest for tomorrow after all.

Aye, after a long time of writing hiatus you'd think I could write something decent at the least but Noooo.
I'm still the same MJ who can't write to save her life. I actually forgot I put them in university, been writing them like a child, and it would probably stay like that lol. I have no idea how adult minds function.
Also aye, this'll be the last chapter in a while. I'm still on hiatus after all.
Hope you enjoy this crappy chapter lol.
