Bath time!
The few moments I have spent with my new son have turned out to be quite enjoyable. I have learned so much about the little guy that I can't even fathom on how much of a living hell his life must have been before I found him.
Anyways, we have spent almost the entire night talking away and getting to know each other more and might I also add that he is very intelligent. For a child of his age and size he knows quite a lot about the world around him and how it works. I find it very interesting and somewhat entertaining in a way, just watching how his eyes seem to light up when I mention something that he knows and watches him take off on the subject just spewing out anything and everything that he learned about the current topic we were on i love it. I absolutely do.
While we were in the middle of a conversation over ducks,( don't ask me how we got there) I had noticed something about Sonic that I am quite surprised that I hadn't noticed before.
The boy reeked.
He smelled like he hadn't taken a decent shower in years. I examined his fur closely and it showed. Large clumps of mud were lodged in between his quills and stuck in his fur like large clumps of degradable glue.
" Sonic when was your last bath?" I asked once he paused his talking to take a breath. " Bath? What is a bath Papa Shadow?" Oh for the love chaos! The poor boy doesn't even know what a bath is, I'm just about ninety- five percent sure that he doesn't know what soap is either, poor guy. Oh well I guess it's time to show him then.
" Come with me." I said as I picked him up and carried him up the stairs and into my bathroom. I let him sit on the edge of the tub while plugged the drain in and squirted a little bubbles in to make his first time more pleasurable.
Everything was going fine and dandy, Sonic was smiling and humming as he kicked his feet back and forth letting his heels hit the back of the tub and looking down at the black and white tiled floor giggling to himself, while I was getting everything for his bath situated.
Then I turned on the water.
It was then that time seemed to stop for a moment. The moment the first drops of water could be heard hitting the bottom of the tub Sonic's humming immediately stopped. His feet stopped hitting the side of the tub, his giggling faulted and died off like the engine of an old truck, and his eyes quickly darted from the floor to tub.
I looked over at him to see what was wrong and why he had stopped but when I looked over all I saw was a blue streak. I had no idea what was going on until I head the bathroom door open and shut almost in one motion. I stood up and blinked a few times just staring at the door letting everything sink in and tried to figure out what just happened. Then it clicked.
Sonic left. He just got up and left.
Well i wouldn't exactly say left, it was more like ran for dear life. The moment that water turned on Sonic was gone like as if he was never there in the first place. A thousand questions were running through my head at this very moment about why he had behaved in such a way but the main one that had me truly concerned was were in the world did the little guy go?!
I finally got out of my glued stance on the floor and turned off the water before opening the door and walking out of the bathroom. I followed a trail of clumped up mud and pebbles( most likely stuff that fell out of his quills from him moving so quickly) all the way to my couch, where I first brought him.
I got down on my hands and knees and peered under the sofa to be greeted by two emerald green irises drowning in a crevasse of tears. I reached my gloved hand under the couch and pulled him out , which he quickly latched onto my chest fur after I did so making me wince a bit when I felt his little claws pierce my skin a bit.
" Sonic, son, what is the matter?"
" W-Water!"
" Huh?"
" No water! Water bad! Water wants to hurt me!"
I was confused about this. How could the little guy be scared of something as harmless as water, it doesn't make any sense. " Sonic water won't hurt you it's completely harmless, here let me show you." I started to get up with him when he started to let go of me. I quickly caught him, saving him from having a very inconvenient and painful meeting with the floor and looked at him.
" No Papa Shadow! No water! Please please no water!" He begged as he looked up at me. This kid truly is terrified of water but why? What could have possibly happened to him involving water that would him so mentally scared and terrified about it?
" Alright then Sonic tell me why you are so scared of water?" I asked as I say down on the couch with him back in my lap. He fiddled with his fingers as he looked down at his feet avoiding my eyes with every chance he got.
" Because the water takes away things I like."
" Huh what do you mean Sonic?"
" Well you see..."
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
Well that's the end of that chapter. Before I fully end this though i would like to apologize for the long time periods it has been between each time I publish a chapter things have just been really busy for me lately, I won't go into great detail about what but just believe me when I say that. Anyways the real reason I put this is because I wanted to see if you guys would be alright with this story being a bit short and I mean like five or six chapters, that kind of short. I just have way to many other stories to work on and I also have a story that I promised a friend of mine that we would do together and I haven't even managed to start that yet, but anyways I would really appreciate you guys answering that question and also for reading this book I know it's not that good but thanks for tolerating it. :*
