Arguing

Cap's POV

"You called us, sir?" I asked. We walked in, me in the front.

Fury stood on the other side of the circular table. "Yes. Sit."

We sat.

Fury slid a folder across to Clint. I was surprised that it was so thin. Usually they were an inch or two thick. This one seemed less than a centimeter.

Clint whistled. "Who is this kid?"

"Perseus Jackson."

Thor froze, his eyes darted to Fury. "Perseus? Perseus Odysseus Jackson?" Fury raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, so?"

"What is it you plan to do to him?"

"Interrogation."

"And when he refuses?"

"Same as always... Torture."

Instantly, we began yelling. We were not torturing a boy! But we all were silent as Thor stood, his eyes murderous, and believe me, a murderous, powerful guy with a hammer is really scary.

"You will not harm him." he said quietly, making it that much scarier. "You will not search, hunt, look for, harm, talk about, or do anything concerning, him. He is a hero. He has seen and done and lost more than any of you mortals could imagine. What's more, he is my friend. If you do anything then you will have me as an enemy, as well as Loki. Tread lightly mortal." And with that, he stormed out- ah, no pun intended.

We turned to Fury, who had on his stubborn determined face on.

Uh oh.

"What's the plan, sir?" He looked at me.

"Find him. Capture him. Interrogate him."

"But sir, Thor said-"

"Is Thor in charge here? No. I am. Now go. He works at Walmart."

Tony scoffed.

"Yes, Stark?"

"Nothing. It's just, a possible terrorist works at Walmart? What does he do, restock shelves?"

"Fish."

"Ooh, scary."

"Just go Stark."

"Fine."

We all rushed out, Tony still chuckling.

Perseus' POV

I had just given a little girl a red beta fish after getting a promise from her to take good care of it.

"Bye, Lord!" it yelled.

I walked over to the employee counter and grabbed the food.

"Lunch time." I told the fish.

"Food! Food! Food! Us first, Lord!" I fed them and left. My shift was over.

I walked to the graveyard.

As I walked, I heard the song Sound the Bugle in my head.

Sound the bugle now.

Play it just for me.

As the seasons change, remember how I used to be.

Now I can't go on. I can't even start. I got nothin' left. Just an empty heart.

I'm a soldier, wounded so I, must give up the fight.

There's nothin' more, for me. Lead me away. Or leave me lyin' here.

Sound the bugle now.

Tell them I don't care.

There's not a road I know,
that leads to anywhere.

Without a light, I, fear that I will stumble in the dark.

Lay right down, decide, not to go on.

I took a bundle out of my car- Yes I got a car. I went to Hazel's grave first.

Each grave had a statue of the person it represented, and I stared at her copy, wishing I could reach out and take her hand, and she would be there.

I placed a gold rose down.

"Hey, Hazel. I wish you were here. You were the best sister-like person ever. I miss you." I said a few words, and moved on to Frank. "Hi, Frank. You know, I went to the aquarium earlier and saw a koi fish. It looked just like you." I laughed, a bitter sweet laugh, and said some more. Next, Thalia.

I had full conversations with all of them.

Then I came to Calypso and saw a certain latino elf.

"Hey, Leo. Is it the 30th already?"

Every month, Leo would come to pay his respects.

He looked up at me, tears streaking through the grease and dirt on his face. Only then did I realise I was crying too.

"No, not yet."

"Then what are you doing so far away from Houston?"

"I had the nightmare again. They died, Percy. They died for me and she died because of me. I killed them, Perce. I-I-." I pulled Leo close.

"It's not your fault. They chose to help you, and it turned out to be a trap. Don't blame yourself."

I looked at Annabeth, who was right next to Calypso. I put a green rose on Calypso's, then sat the last one, a silver rose, on hers.

Leo saw me."I won't blame myself if you follow your own advice."

"Leo, I-I can't. The nightmares won't stop. I have to gag  myself so the other residents of the apartments don't hear my screams. She was everything. She made me, me. Percy died with her. Now it's just Perseus."

He looked up at me with sorrowful determination. "Percy's still in there. We just need to bring the dead to life."

"Yeah, well Nico died."

"I know. I was there!"

We stared at each other. Glared. Wept.

I fell to the ground, tears streaming down my face.

Leo laid a mechanical sunflower with moonlace (Where he got it, I don't know) on the ground. "Bye, Sunshine. Percy, Perseus, I have to go."

"Bye." I watched him walk off.

That's when ComicCon and I met.

Tony's POV

We followed the boy, Perseus, trying to figure out where he was going.

Then I realized.

"Hey, guys. He's going to the graveyard. We are not attacking in a cemetery! 1, rude. 2, creepy!"

"We'll just wait, then." Clint said.

"For how long?" Bruce asked.

"No attacky graveyard!"

"Tony!"

"Nononononono!"

"You can wait outside, then."

"What?! Don't leave me alone in a graveyard! Fine, I'll come!"

We got to the gravesite, and saw him walking through one of the reserved and private arches.

We followed, stealth mode!

When we got in, I saw grave upon grave upon grave. At least 200, each with a statue of a boy, girl, man, woman, or even an animal marking them. Each also had a small plaque to label them. Perseus stopped at one with a young girl, Hazel Levesque, and began talking to it. He did this to 6 before he stopped.

A teen sat by a girl's grave. Perseus called him Leo.

Did they really think that the deaths were on their hands? What did they mean they had killed them? What happened to do this?

The Leo kid laid down what looked like a mechanical flower down on the grave, then left.

We sat there processing the conversation, and waiting for the Perseus guy to relax, then walked out.

He tensed, then gave up.

What? I was expecting a fight, after reading his file. Instead, he just said, "It's rude to stand on the graves, you know."

"Sorry." I got off.

"Thanks. Hazel's really big on respect for the dead, but I doubt she would care about herself. However, her boyfriend, Frank, would kill you for upsetting his girl. Piper would be mad you offended her friends. Jason would think it his duty to avenge" (haha) "them. Nico would kill you for messing with his little sister. Calypso would get some rare plant to poison you. Annabeth... Sh-she would... she would try to stop them, but when it didn't work, would join them."

I didn't care that he was rambling, I did it all the time.

"And you?"

He looked at me. His eyes scared me. They were broken, sorrowful, dying, but also strong.

Brave.

Dangerous.

"I would protect my family, they were all I had. I was their leader. I was their friend. I was their protector. And I failed." He paused for a moment. "What do you need? I'm not in the mood for comicon at the moment, so..."

"Wait, you don't know me-uh, us?"

"Should I?"

How the... what?!

"Uh, yeah! I'm Tony Stark, the great Iron Man! Savior of New York! We're the Avengers!"

I swear I heard crickets.
