David's pov

Lui was alright. His throat hurt, he had bruised ribs, and his legs where weak but other that he was fine. Still as he laid there unmoving on the gurney in the medical room I could sill feel panic creeping up my spine. I had to keep repeating he was alright to myself or I would probably kill someone.

Winston was laying next to him. Normally I would be pissed at him but I couldn't bring myself to be angry at anyone but myself. Lui had woken up a little while ago and told me and Metamorphose that Dark Blade was a guy name Manic before passing out again. The name sounded familiar so as Metamorphose went home with the promise of keeping on the look out for anything, I racked my brain. Finally I remembered that he was the guy Lui kept saying he was seeing everywhere.

I wanted to punch myself for not paying closer attention. I can't believe I didn't find it the least bit suspicious that he was everywhere. I just brushed him off and paid attention to my own problems. Lui stirred and I sat up but he still didn't open his eyes.

I opened my phone to look at the news and I was blown away. 30 killed and 10 injured after a attack jumped out at me. I quickly read the article and was pissed. Dark Blade had stuck again but the same as last time the media blamed Lui. It was fucking stupid. I dialed up my technology expert and her  she picked up after the forth ring. "Hey boss what's up?" My techie said. "I want to do a background search on someone named manic. He lives in the richer part of the city, works at La Rue, a prison, and The Ice Shack." I said listing all the the places Lui said he had seen him. "Manic?" She said sounding confused. "Yes is there a problem?" I asked putting more bite in my voice then I meant to. "N-no sir. If I may, why are you looking for him?" She said weakly. "He's Dark Blade." She sucked in a breath and went silent. All I could here was the sound of the keyboard clicking.

"Sir. There's absolutely nothing about him in this city." She reported after a moment. "Fuck." I cursed and without another word hung up. I tossed my phone on the bedside table and let my head fall back against the chair I sat in. "What's wrong?" A Lui asked in a weak voice. Lifting my head I saw he was awake and looking at me. "Just frustrated." I admitted "tell me about it. Maybe it'll help you think clearer." He said with a weak smile.

I smiled back and told him about how there was no sign of Manic. I didn't tell him that he was becoming the most wanted villain in the city. "Hmmm well we could go to the places we've seen them and see if we can gather any information from the people there." Lui suggested. "This is why I need you." I said and then kissed his forehead. "Let's go tomorrow!" Lui said excitedly. "No way. You need rest. In two days we'll go but for now your bed ridden and I have to play the role of nurse." I shook my head at his enthusiasm.

Short chapter but still really good. Sadly this book is coming to a end soon. TnT
