Lui's pov

These past three weeks have been almost a complete waste. I didn't get any of my memory back, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fail at my etiquette, and I can't find my way around the base for shit. The only up side is David showed me the main entrance, and I got my suit.

It was a dark red jacket and pants with a black undershirt, a white bow tie and black dress shoes (is that the correct term for male shoes worn with tuxes cause I'm clueless? Like any guys reading this for whatever reason is that correct?). I looked in the mirror and combed my hair before leaving.

I stood in the main room and wated for Nogla to come out. We had decided that to save time he would get ready in the medical bay while I dressed in the room.

I didn't have to wait long. David stepped out of the room and my breath caught. Holy cow...HE'S FUCKING SEXY! He decided to go with black jacket and pants, with a black undershirt, tie, and shoes. His hair slightly messed up in a way that screamed him was perfect.

^ David's suit. Imagine him in it. Need I say more? Fine with a capital ine.

I looked around the room to distract myself so I didn't start drooling but when I peeked over at him I noticed he hadn't moved and was letting his eyes trail up and down my body.

I shivered pleasantly and let the easy confident grin slide onto my face. "Why don't you take a picture it'll last longer." I teased. David blinked a few times, shook his head, cleared his throat and gestured for us to start walking.

As part of my training, I was in charge of finding the exit. Nogla was supposed to correct me if I went to off course but after the third wrong door I began to wonder why he was so distracted. Glancing back, where he was slightly lagging behind, I noticed him staring at me.

Again my confident grin slid onto my face and I made a show of dropping my phone and bending down to pick it up.

Finally we arrived at the correct door with very little help from David. I opened it proudly and turned to face David. "I hope your done staring at my ass cause you've gotta get on to business stuff." I said grinning.  "I'm certainly not the only one who's doing business things. Your my plus one. Your gonna be stuck with me all night." David said and I have him a mock look of horror which made us laugh.

After our giggling fit calmed down I noticed something. He never denied looking at my butt.

David's pov

I stuck to what I said earlier and dragged Lui around with me. He made some mistakes but over all didn't do to bad. The building looked amazing. The mayor had agreed to let me hold the ball at city hall as long as he was invited.

"Hello I'm Elis Archorse from Weasely news. Do you mind me asking you some questions?" A woman who was strangely familiar asked as she came over. She wore a black knee length dress and had on a black top hat. The all black made her blond hair and green eyes stick out.

"No it's fine." I said with a smile. "Nice to meet you Miss. Archorse. I'm Lui Caliber, a friend of Mr, Nolan's." Lui greeted.

Ok I'm gonna cut in. So after translating Daithi De Nogla Nogla actually means Nolan so I'm just going with that as his last name. Continue.

"Aren't you guys the ones who saved me three weeks ago?" She asked after looking at us. "Pardon?" I asked confused. "It's just, three weeks ago I was being harassed in a alley and two gentlemen came and saved me. If it wasn't you to then you both have a doppelgänger." She joked.

"Oh yes sorry, it slipped my mind." I confirmed. So that's why she looked so familiar. "I'm glade to see your both ok. You looked a little beat up. It's was really weighing heavily on my concise." "Well you can sleep easy we're perfectly fine."

"Next time you play Prince Charming at least let me bandage you up like a proper princess would." She said playfully. Before I could say anything Mackenzie came over. "Sir, it's time for your speech and then there will be dancing." She said.

Mackenzie glanced at Elis, snorted, and walked away leaving me confused and Elis looking mildly insulted. I said my goodbyes and started to walk towards the stairs where I would give a huge boring speech about whatever.

"Why was the press even here." Lui grumbled. He hasn't said a word since he introduced himself to Elis. "It's no big deal. Just more publicity." I waved him off. "Yeah...publicity." Lui scoffed.

"Awww what's wrong. Is Lui jealous?" I teased and his face flushed. "No it's just I never learned how to deal with them. This is supposed to be a test of my skills but how can I ace it if it's over this I never learned." He said. "Don't worry about it. You did fine and because your so jealous I'll give you my first dance." I teased again.

"Fuck off." He said and gently pushed me towards the stairs. I cleared my throat and got everyone's attention. After I had all eyes on me I launched into this long and annoying speech about how I appreciated everyone coming out and all their donations. The whole time Lui made strange faces at me and I struggled not to laugh.

After I was done I went down and punched him in the shoulder. "Ow what was that for!" He shouted, drawing the attention of a few people near by. "You know what. Now come on I promised you the first dance." I said holding my hand out.

Ya can start the music now.

Can't help falling in love started playing and both of our faces heated up as I pulled him against me. Our dancing drew the attention of a few people. Some smiled and even gave me a thumbs up while some frowned and I knew I wouldn't be doing business with them any time soon.

I didn't mind. This was just a joke after all. It's not like we where serious. Right? I'm not interested in Lui? But I was staring at his butt earlier and he does look amazing. Hmmmm. I can't love my nemesis. I've gotta think on this later.

I spun Lui and when I pulled him against me again we stumbled a little and his grip on my shoulders tightened. "Are you alright?" I asked concerned. "Yeah. Thanks for worrying. I'm just not very good on my feet." He said with a soft smile.

My eyes focused on his lips forming that beautiful smile and I slimed back. Slowly my eyes traveled his face only for them to jump back to his lips. I leaned down slowly and Lui's eyes connected with mine. Slow close.

A scream sent me into panic and my head shot up and I jumped away. Other guests looked around as another scream was heard. My eyes traveled around the room and stopped at the river of blood that was slowly trickling down the stairs.

"Look at all of my precious victims." A scratchy voice said. At the top of the stairs stood a man in all black with a mask that covered his face and was pure white with no holes. A sword hung lazily at his side. "This will look beautiful with a little more blood." He stated and jumped down the stairs and drove his heart through a guest.

Like time had been unfrozen everyone began to panic and run for the doors. The villain laughed maniacally and spilt as much blood as he could. I dragged Lui into a near by room and quickly closed the door behind me. "Come on come on where is it..." I muttered as I began to feel the wall.

"No offense David but now is not the time to get touchy feely with the wall. We should probably get out there." Lui said as he pressed against the door and looked around at the mayor's office. "I'm trying to- found it!" I shouted as I pressed in on a brick and the wall slid back and revealed my super suit.

"I had something like this put in important buildings just in case something like this happened. Now can you uh turn around." I said as my face flushed. "Oh uh yeah."

"So how are we gonna take this guy down?" Lui asked as he faced the door. I began hurriedly taking my suit off as I responded. "We aren't. I am. Your staying here." "What the fuck no!" Lui shouted and partially turned to face me before quickly turning around again.

"You don't have a mask of anything for you to fight in. This is my job. Your staying here and that's final." I said as I thrusted my legs into the super suit. "That's totally unfair. I helped you take out those guys in the alley." Lui pointed out. "Yeah those weren't insane maniacs." I countered.

"Fine but just know I'm not happy about this and if you get hurt I'm totally gonna say I told you so." He grumbled. "Fine by me." I said as I slid my mask on. "Now stay here." I commanded.

I quietly opened the door and slipped out. There was blood everywhere. Bodies laid unmoving and unbreathing all over the place. Oddly the masked villain was no where to be seen. The grand doors where tightly shut and splattered in blood. No windows where broken. It didn't seem likely that the villain would leave. One thing I learned. Villains like to fuck with you and would stay around the scene of the crime to add more blood.

I moved around my muscles tense. A foot step behind me made me spin on my heel and throw a punch. The person dogged and I went to upper cut them but they shouted and I stopped. "What the fuck are you doing I told you to stay in the room." I glared down at Lui. "I just got this really bad feeling. Like what if the villain was in that room some how. I wouldn't be safe in there alone." He defended.

I huffed and started walking again. "It looks like their gone anyways." I said. After a few minutes I didn't get a response and turned to look at Lui. He was looking up, his eyes darting around. "What are you doing?" I asked walking over. "Shhhhh" was all he said. "What do you mean shhhh?" Lui pointed at the rafters and I followed his finger.

Above us there was a beast. There's no other way of describing it. It looked to be made purely of shadows and yet seemed to be covered in blood. "Holy shit." I whispered and the things eyes connected with mine. It's eyes pure white. I froze as the huge beast jumped down so hard it cracked the marble floor.

It lumbered over and began to sniff around me and Lui who stood unmoving. It again looked me in the eye and this low growling sound came from it. It got in my face and raised its taloned hand. Swiftly it brought it down and I barely made it as Lui pulled me out of the way.

Again the marble cracked and the beast roared showing its jagged razor fangs.i pulled us out of the way as it tried to hit is again. "Fucking hell. Lui get somewhere out of the way." I said gently pushing him. Lui listened and began to slowly back away.

The beast seemed to like Lui though and lunged at him but I intercepted and absorbed the hit. My punch was as hard as that hit would have been yet it didn't seem to faze the monstrosity. It growled and tackled me and we began to wrestle around on the floor. The beast but down on my arm and I cried out in pain.

"David! Fuck!" I heard Lui. His shouting grabbed the monsters attention and he jumped off me and charged at Lui. I couldn't get there fast enough but I dam well tried. Please let some miracle happen and Lui ends up safe.

Lui threw his hands up in some sort of defense and something happened. Lui must have tapped into his powers because the goo I was all the familiar with shot out and stuck the shadow beast to the floor.

"Thank god." I mumbled and felt myself slowly fall to my knees. I was really tired. Now that the monster is taken care of maybe I should just sleep. Yeah that sounds good. Slowly I closed my eyes. "DAM IT DAVID DONT MAKE ME SAY I TOLD YOU SO!" I heard Lui shout but it was really muffled.

I closed my eyes and let myself slip into a peaceful slumber.
