chapter thirty

"So why didn't you want to watch the task?" Levi asked as the two sat on the steps up to the house he shared with Charlie, eating a surprisingly good lasagne.

"It's not my thing, I mean it's cool and all but why would anyone want to watch that?" She responded, taking a bite out of her meal. "Merlin I didn't know you could cook!"

"Thanks Raven, always the tone of surprise. I never liked the tournament either." Levi shrugged. "River competed in one, so I got to watch. It was awful."

"To watch your brother do that... I'm just glad Fred and George got rejected." She sighed. "We're a mess."

"Still haven't done anything since you kissed him?" Levi asked, she sighed.

"I can't believe I did that. We agreed to just forget about it, but... god I don't know. Its George, I mean I care about him, and I don't know what I'd do with out him. But he's George I've known him since the train on the way to Hogwarts for the first time." She ranted, letting out everything she had been feeling since that night.

"Maybe you two need to talk about it." Levi suggested gently.

"How?" She asked. "How do I just tell him that it meant something?"

"Because he probably feels the same way." Levi told her, she shook her head at once.

"No, no he can't.... can he? Does he?" She asked her eyes wide. He chuckled and put his arm around her.

"Of course he does."

Raven entered the common room to a raucous party. Of which she slipped past, noticing that the twins and Lee weren't there, she went up to their dormitory.

"Where the hell have you been?" Fred asked her, meeting her at the door and pulling her over to the others.

"I was with Levi. They fired him." She told them, they stared at her, all three for a good minute.

"Does Charlie know?" Lee asked, she nodded.

"He'll be devastated." Fred mumbled.

"He is. I've been helping Levi pack, he has to move in with his brother." She told them, sitting down on George's bed with a sigh.

"That'll drive Levi up the wall." George laughed lightly, wrapping an arm around Ravens shoulder.

"I don't think he'll stay there for long. He has no idea what he's going to do." Raven shook her head, the news of her friends unemployment made her so sad for him. Romania and Charlie had been his life since the end of their Hogwarts days.

"He'll make a great teacher." Lee mused. She smiled at him.

"I'll tell him that in my next letter." She shook her head. "So how was the first round?"

"Krum was the best. Harry summoned his broom and flew off the little bugger. We couldn't see anything, the git." Lee huffed, glancing down to find Ravens legs resting over his knees. "Raven!"

"You love it really." She shot back with a sly grin. "So whats next?"

"We don't know, the egg Harry got just screamed when it was opened." Fred told her. "Don't know what he's going to do."

"Ah he'll figure it out, he's a smart kid." She sighed. "So what crazy schemes are you two thinking up this time?"

"We actually haven't got a prank planned. We've been focusing on Weasley's wizard wheezes." George told her, shifting slightly so his arm was in a more comfortable place around her.

"That's what you're calling it?" She asked in surprise. They nodded. "I like it."

"Thanks Raven, glad you approve." Fred grinned.

"Well it's not like I wouldn't make you change it if I didn't." She replied, resting the back of her head against George's shoulder.

"What's wrong?" He asked gently, feeling her muscles tense. When she failed to reply he shook her shoulder gently. "Raven?"

Raven cried out, not in pain but in fear, she was getting another vision and it was horrifying. "Dead, the great hall is filled with bodies, bodies of our fallen classmates. He killed them, looking for Harry... Fred!" She yelled suddenly after a moment of silence, a tear rolling down her cheek. "Freddy?"

"I'm here, Raven I'm here, it's just a dream, I'm here I promise." Fred reached across and took her in his arms, she wrapped her arms around him tightly, still shaking. "Raven?"

"You were gone Freddy." She choked out, Fred exchanged a worried look with his brother as he held the crying girl.

"I'm not gone Raven, I'm here. I won't leave you. None of us will." He told her, this was perhaps her worst vision yet and it had spooked the others as well.

"Promise?" She asked, her voice small and lost in the fear that still resonated from her vision.

"Promise." Fred said, he wanted her to be okay, she was their best friend after all.

^^^
Raven had made the decision to go to her own dormitory that night, but as she headed towards the stairs she thought she saw a death eater, in the distance, by the forest and it spooked her. She stared at it, watched as it seemed to be watching the castle and then she could have sworn it met her eye.

And the image of what she had seen them do to muggles at the world cup flashed through her mind. And she turned and ran back to the boys dormitory.

George was the only one awake when she entered. He smiled sleepily at her and gestured for her to walk over to him. She sat on the edge of his bed and quietly told him what she had seen.
"Don't be scared Raven." He told her. "Come on." He allowed her to lay down beside him.

"Are you sure you don't mind me being here?" She asked him, as she lay feeling safer with him beside her.

"Of course not, Raven you came in here looking scared to death." He told her. "I'm worried about you."

"What on earth was a death eater doing here?" She asked him, as  though he could conjure up some sort of answer for her.

"That's tomorrow's problem." He pulled her close to him. "Let's get some sleep."

"Night George."

"Night Raven."
