"Hey, girl! How ya been, Potatoe? Do you want to go outside?" I cooed to my dog when I walked inside. 

I   threw my backpack into the corner of the living room and let my dog outside, chuckling when she ran around and barked. I turned to my stuck up cat who was sitting on the couch. 

"What do you want?"

Meow.

"I thought so." I walked over to his food bowl and filled it, making him run over and rub against my leg. "Spoiled little shit," I laughed at him. 

I sat on the couch, pulling my phone out. I scrolled through Tumblr, looking for interesting stuff. I scrolled past a news article but went back to it when I saw the comments.

Creatures in a laboratory found alive after 100 years!

The new CEO of NextGen, a hundred-year-old genetic science company, was truly shocked when she found several odd creatures in a previously locked lab in the building. What shocked them most of all, was that these creatures were alive. They were not frail and old like some would expect, but very energetic and lively. The laboratory itself was kept like a greenhouse, with self-sustaining water and light systems for the plants, which these creatures consumed. No photos were released of said creatures, but one employee agreed to describe it for us.

"One of them was all black and shiny, another was green, then a blue one, and a purple one, and even an iridescent one. They were all completely unique, and honestly terrifying. The one thing that didn't scare me was the husky that was there."

They showed a picture of the dog, and I damn near jumped off the couch, It was the exact same dog I saw in my dream.

"Since Dr. Miller was a truly exceptional scientist, I have reason to believe that these were not his only experiments. I must caution you to stay away from the facility, as we fear these creatures might be dangerous. Keep alert, there might be some experiments on your streets as well."

I turned my phone off and ran outside, and jumped into my car. My friends were at the mall, and my family was meeting me there for my Gotcha day party. They had to hear this. My head was full of so many thoughts, many of them worrying, as I drove.

The mall parking lot wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. I saw a lot of very similar cars parked near each other and was immediately on my guard. This was going to be a long day.
